-Studie av internkommunikation i en komplex organisation

Internal communication exists in all organizations and is ongoing. It is of great importanceto communicate effectively when deficiencies can have serious consequences. The tsunamithat swept over South East Asia's coast in 2004 is indicative of this. At that time the consequenceswere loss of efficiency and productivity of businesses, health care, police and themilitary. All because of the lack of information.Employees in an organization take many decisions that affect the entire organization. It istherefore important that they have information about the goals the organization shallachieve. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to understand how the goals, vision andstrategy are spread from the central level in a complex organization and how central andlocal actors perceive communication. We have enforced a qualitative survey in which we used Västra Götalandsregionen as a casecompany. We have conducted interviews with employees and managers in two differentadministrations in the organization to examine how the information is spread in the organizationand examine how different actors perceive information. We have chosen to analyze our empirical data using two different visions of communication. In order to clarify how communication can be described in different ways dependingon which approach is used. The approaches we have chosen for this study is one mathematicallyand one socially.According to the mathematical approach is the communicationprocess successful today. This is because employees believe that they have access to information. This approach focuseson that the information are going from A to B and if the information reaches iscommunication successful. According to the social approach is the organization not a unifiednetwork today. All employees do not have knowledge of the goals, vision and strategy. The recruitment of employees works only in certain parts of the organization. The different approaches highlight different aspects of the dissemination of information. They have different ways of looking at how information is disseminated to look for to besuccessful and therefore also how it will be successful. We believe it is important to beaware of how different approaches describe communication in different ways.Internal communication exists in all organizations and is ongoing.
