The number of people with another culture isincreasing in Sweden. This change in society bringsconsequences in health care that has not any methodsto manage. The Muslim woman?s meeting with thehealth care is one of those areas. The aim with thisstudy was to describe the nurses meeting with femaleMuslim patient. The study carried out as a literaturestudy and the results which based on 9 articlesshowed the lack of knowledge about culture andreligion among health care staff. The authors furtherbelieved that to achieve an adequate result withmeeting between staff and patient requiresknowledge about different culture and religion. Thestudy shows furthermore a necessity for nursestraining individually to create instinct in how theirown cultural opinion affects the nurse in her/hisprofession. The patients felt like nurses had astereotype to doing their job and got very difficult tosatisfy patients with the needs. In view of thecircumstances it notifies proposals to improvement inthe existing health care through curses and seminarsabout culture and religion but even concreteinformation about Islam and Muslim female patient?sneeded in an institutional care. MadeleineLeininger?s theory of culture care was used as theconceptual framework and support for the study.
