Kundanpassning av ett rehabiliteringsverktyg

To be able to move around without having to think about each movement is for most people amatter of course. Todays society contributes to a life at high speed where the sparetime is oftenspend doing somekind of sport, even extreme sports which earlier only a few people wheredoing. This leads to not only good health effects but also to more injuries. One of the mostcommon injuries is the knee injury.Capio Artro Clinic is a clinic specialized in sports medicine and particulary patients with injuriesin knee, shoulder, foot, hip or elbow. They perform a great part of all the crucial ligamentsurgeries in Sweden and has therefor also a lot of patients in need for rehabilitation of the knee.During the rehabilitation the load of the injuried knee is increased in steps. To control this loadthe physiotherapists at the Artro Clinic want to have an instrument that measure and display thepercentage load on each leg as a feedback during the rehabilitation exercises. The aim of this thesis was to develope a concept for such an instrument that will fullfill therequirements from the physiotherapists at Artro but also all the requirements they do not thinkof, but is needed in order to make the instrument functional and userfriendly. The instrument alsohas to fullfill the requirements from external laws and regulations. The work started with a theoretical study to create a solid background for the project. Then thework continued with observations and interviews at the Artro Clinic. The conclusions from thosethen formed the base for the specifications of needs and requirements on the instrument. Inaddition to the work with the concept a list with guidelines on how to make a list of requriementswas made.In the end of the project a concept for an instrument was made. The concept is using the sametechnology as a former project which needs to be adjusted to fit together with the design of theinstrument. The concept was evaluated and tested with help of a functional prototyp, which hadsome of the instruments function build in and a physical prototype that only showed the externaldesign of the instrument. The need for an instrument that can give real time feedback on how the percentage of load isdivided for a patient is big. Such kind of an instrument has a huge potential to improve the workof the physiotherapists and at the same time improve the patients understanding for their ownproblem.
