Kommunikationens betydelse för ett lyckat outsourcingprojekt
Today it is mainly small and medium sized companies that choose to outsource parts of their ITdepartment in order to increase and become great. It is becoming increasingly common forcompanies to take the help of competent suppliers so that they then can focus on their own corebusiness. These companies are taking advantage of modern methods to support systemdevelopment by outsourcing to other countries such as India. Choosing to outsource to othercountries poses new challenges for companies when they meet both cultural and organizationaldifferences. It requires a lot of time and planning and clear communication in order to developand reach the goal. A common problem that occurs when you outsource to another country iscommunication problems. Here you can misunderstand one another which means that thesupplier do not deliver what was thought with the specification. In my study, I addressed myselfto the importance of communication and the challenges companies face when they decide tooutsource parts of their business. I wanted to create a greater understanding of communicationand identifying the problems that can be resolved with communication in outsourcing contexts,and what guidance there is to running a successful outsourcing project. The theoretical parthighlighted how previous research looking at outsourcing and what problems there are. In myempirical section I discuss how the consulting company implements, monitors, measures andevaluates when they outsource, and even how they handled the communication and the problemsthat occur during outsourcing. In the phase of empirical data collection, I chose to work based onqualitative methods, as this type of interview gives the interviewee opportunities to share theirfeelings and interpretations of the phenomenon. In addition to the interview was a literaturestudy conducted to gain a broad overview and insight into the area. In my conclusion I came tothe conclusion that when a company chooses to outsource, it requires much preparation wherethe company, from the beginning, needs to go through the process carefully. A project should bemanaged by the right people with the right competence in order to avoid problems with thecommunication. Right from the start the communication needs to be carefully composed for therecipient to prevent that you misunderstand each other. While the company continuouslymonitors what has been delivered.
