Effekten av sex veckors coreträning enligt det förkoreograferade programmet Fokus
Core strength is important in order to be able to do all types of daily
activities. One way to exercise ones core muscles is according to the pre-
choreographed program Fokus. Previous studies have shown that core training
gives better balance and stability in the core and also improved
techniques, body awareness and control. Aim: To evaluate the core endurance
strength, the balance and the studied individuals self estimated body
awareness and control after six weeks of training according the pre-
choreographed program Fokus. Methods: A total of 14 people volunteered to
participate in the study, six of which completed the study. They were
offered to exercise two times a week during a six week period of time. They
were not allowed to alter any other exercise or living habits. Tests of
endurance strength, balance and self estimated body awareness and control
were made before and after the training session. Results: Tests
improvement: leg lower test 26,5% (statistical significance p=0,041), back
raises 93,5% (p=0,028), plank position 37,5% (p=0,345), hip lifts 91,5%
(p=0,075) balance on right leg 48,3% (p=0,046) and on left 34,8% (p=0,046).
Self estimation according to the VAS scale were improved: body awareness
6,33 before the period and 7,5 after (p=0,059). Body control before 5,83
and after 7,33 (p=0,038). Conclusion: The core endurance strength, balance
and body awareness and control showed improved in participants with six
weeks of core training, each session lasting for 30 minutes, only two times
a week according to the pre-choreographed program Fokus.
