Abnorm manlighet och manlig normalitet - en undersökning om hur våldtäkt framställs i svenska dagstidningar.
SammanfattningDen här undersökningen handlar om hur svenska massmedier, i det här fallet dags- och kvällstidningar, framställer våldtäkt i sin nyhetsrapportering. Artiklarna är utvalda från två olika fall som blev omskrivna i svensk press. Utifrån bland annat filosofen Michel Foucaults diskursteori och med ett socialkonstruktivistiskt och genusviklat perspektiv analyseras en rad artiklar med hjälp av diskursanalys. De teoretiker som använts är bland andra Norman Fairclough.Med diskursanalysens hjälp synliggörs de underliggande betydelserna av en till synes oskyldig nyhetsrapportering. Dessa jämförs sedan med en social kontext som utgörs av en redan utförd undersökning om ungdomars förståelse av våldtäkt. Syftet är att upptäcka eventuella kopplingar mellan det som skrivs och den sociala verkligheten och att synliggöra återskapande mekanismer i vår uppfattning om våldtäkt och de personer som är inblandade.Undersökningen resulterar i tydliga reproduktiva mekanismer av stereotyper kring våldtäkt och genus. Dessa kopplas även till den sociala kontexten, vilket synliggör ett dialektiskt samband mellan text och social praktik.AbstractThis study is about how Swedish media, in this case newspapers, describe rape in their news coverage. The material is chosen from the coverage of two different cases that instigated several articles in different papers. They are analysed using the discourse theory of the philosopher Michel Foucault and with a social constructionist and gender perspective. The theorists who have been used are among others Norman Fairclough.Using discourse analysis the underlying meanings of an apparently innocent and objective news coverage are uncovered. These are then compared to a social context taken from other research of how young people apprehend rape. The purpose is to discover possible connections between what is written in newspapers and our social reality and also to illustrate reproducing mechanisms in our perception of rape and of those who are involved.The study results in distinct reproducing mechanisms of sterotypes of rape and gender.
