Den yngre generationens delaktighet i det lokala utvecklingsarbetet : En fallstudie av dialogprocessen i utvecklingsarbetet "Skellefteå 2030"

The ambition to involve Younger people in future planning processes in order to get full participation of all groups in the society requires a deep and well-planned dialogue. Although, participation not always means inclusion. The purpose of this study was to analyze how the Younger generation in the society is included in the future work. This is based on a case study of the developmental work in the municipality of Skellefteå.Questions that were answered were how the municipality has made the participation possible? To what extent has the Younger generation been involved? How did this group experience their participation? The methodology consisted of mixed methods that include observations, surveys to the session leaders and to the participants in the dialogue and three interviews with two participants and one municipal civil servant. The result showed that the open information didn´t reach the Younger generation to the open dialogues although the dialogue design gave good conditions for participation.

Vilka spänningar kan uppstå mellan en yngre teamledare och äldre medarbetare och kan de hänföras till generations-/åldersskillnader? Hur påverkar dessa teamdynamiken?

Earlier research has shown that generational differences between Younger-supervisors and older-workers may cause tensions that lead to team ineffectiveness. There is however still a lack of research in this area. This thesis presents possible tensions that might occur between a Younger supervisor and an older worker due to their age and generational affiliation, and how these tensions affect the team dynamics. The empirical data collection was limited to the boundaries of the dental care industry where these generational/age differences between Younger supervisor and older worker are common. The thesis looks at the tensions from a qualitative perspective and data was collected in the form of in-depth interviews with selected dentists and nurses.

A comparison of methods to assess site index in young Norway spruce stands

This study investigates whether the site index curve method (SICM) and the growth intercept method (GIM) can be used for site index predictions in Younger Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) stands than recommended by current guidelines. For SICM it was thus investigated whether the method could be used for stands Younger than ten years, and for GIM it was tested whether a starting point for the intercept measurements could be used below the recommended 2.5 meter. This was tested based on measurements taken from experimental stands in Tönnersjöheden Research Forest. For GIM it was found that the method can only be used when the TH-trees of a stand have five complete intercepts above 2.5 meters. For the method to be applicable beyond this, it will be necessary to adapt the underlying equations, perhaps following the Canadian example where a 1.3 meter intercept start is used. In conclusion it is not currently possible to apply the approach beyond the current recommendations. For SICM, SI predictions are accurate for the study area already form year three.

Den moderna banken : Hur ett finansiellt företag kan attrahera en yngre generation

The purpose of this study is to analyze how companies that sell financial services can reach people in the Younger audience. The financial services that we refer to are regarding banking and insurance for private users, and with the Younger audience we refer to people in the age of 18 to 25. We think that this is a valid and interesting issue to study because of the common thoughts that persons in this age are common users of Internet, social medias and new technology. The main question through our study has been; ?How a financial company can attract the Younger generation, and support their creation of value?" Our research is based on a qualitative method.

Generationsskifte : Särskilt om gåva och blandade fång

All small- and medium-sized family owned enterprises need to sooner or later undergo a change of ownership. When the elder generation is approaching their retirement they have to make a choice; either hand over the business to the Younger generation or sell it to an outsider. The succession of the family owned business can create a life long dilemma for the entrepreneur. From the view of taxation there are, according to current legislation, no reasons to plan the succession to the Younger generation. If no preparation has been done, the optional law system concerning inheritance will divide the property left.
