The drug treatment staff attitude towards Needle exchange is what investigates in this study. The aim of this study is to see what?s affecting the standpoints in the Needle exchange issue and also to investigate if the Needle exchange is compatible with Swedish drug policy. The study has a qualitative approach and it?s based on eight semi-structured interviews with drug treatment staff.

This study has analyzed particel size distribution and Needle content in chipped logging residuals (branches and tops) delivered to the district heating plant Ryaverket in city of Borås, Sweden. Two fuel assortments has been analyzed: Chipped logging residuals from pure softwood and from mixed fuel (connifers and broadleaves). The samples has been sieved at Linneaus University laboratory.The study of particle sizes indicates that only 53,2 % of delivered fuel is within the fuels specification (7? 45 mm). The Needle content is in this study 12,4 % (dry mass) which is higher than expected..

A piezoelectric injector was modeled, in this Master Thesis Project which was carried out at Scania CV AB in Södertälje, in GT-Fuel. GT-Fuel is simulation program from Gamma Technology.The simulation model for the piezo injector was divided into a hydro-mechanical system and an electrical system (Piezoelectric element). First the hydro-mechanic model was duplicated from Advance Continuous Simulation Language model (ACSL). The simulation results were then compared to the ACSL, to verify that the hydro-mechanical system was modeled correctly. The simulation results for the electrical model were also compared with a Simulink model.

Background Adolescents and adults suffering from Needle phobia have an unreasonable fear of Needles that leads to negative experiences if they do not get the support they need. Negative experiences lead to patients avoiding health care, or these experiences affect important aspects of life. Inclusion body disease (IBD) affecting boas and pythons is a serious and common disease. Boas can be clinically healthy carriers, which makes control of the disease difficult. The objective of this study was to compare the sensitivity of two diagnostic methods ? liver biopsies and blood smears, and to evaluate ultrasoundguided Needle biopsy of the liver.

This Master Thesis has been carried out in cooperation with Ursus Medical AB (URSUS) which markets, assembles and sells the Rotex Screw Needle Biopsy Instrument ®. The instrument is delivered with an instrument holder. Customers had expressed dissatisfaction over that they needed to use two hands during a biopsy procedure, which resulted in a project to develop a new instrument holder.The project aim was to create concepts for how the new instrument holder should be designed, with focus on the mechanics. The new instrument holder would build on the existing basic principle that the screw Needle and the cannula were screwed into the tissue. The thesis work would result in a technical solution and a functional prototype of the chosen concept.To achieve this, a generic product development processes were used and began with a comprehensive literature review.

This thesis work is performed on VSM Group Ltd in Huskvarna that produces sewing machines under the trademarks Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking. On these sewing machines is an application that helps the user to thread the Needle. The fungus Gremmeniella abietina causes damage to conifers that can lead to tree death. In 1999 and 2001 the pathogen caused severe attacks in Sweden, where about 500 000 ha of pine forest were affected. Trees of all ages were attacked, but mainly forests between 30-60 years that were ready for their first commercial thinning. After recommendations from the forest agency, sanitary fellings were made to trees that had more Needle loss than 85%, a total of about 50 000 ha. We will identify and analyze the different participant?s, such as doctors, politicians, user associations and media, arguments in the Needle exchange issue.

Background: Children frequently exhibit high levels of distress while undergoing routine blood sampling or injections. If the child is not treated with appropriate care, the feelings of distress may increase over time and result in Needle-phobia. Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe nurses´ possibilities to relieve distress in children undergoing Needle sticks. Ten research articles with a quantitative approach were included, coded for quality and then analyzed.

This thesis is an analysis of Swedish drug policy and an investigation as to whether the prohibition concept is in a state of decline. Stickrädsla förekommer bland personer i alla åldrar och kan i vissa fall leda till att den som är stickrädd undviker att uppsöka sjukvård, något som kan påverka personens hälsa. Eftersom blodprovstagningar, injektioner och infusioner utförs varje dag inom sjukvården finns risken att sjuksköterskan förr eller senare träffar på en vuxen person som är stickrädd. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder som kan lindra obehag hos vuxna personer med stickrädsla. Resultatet från vetenskapliga publikationer pekar på att olika lindrande omvårdnadsåtgärder finns att tillgå. Studier visar att bemötandet från vårdpersonalen och psykoterapeutiska metoder kan ha betydelse för personer som är rädda för att bli stuckna.
