The purpose of this study is to examine how the concept Multiculture has been defined and used in selected articles, which were published during the year 2006 and the following month. The study is based on five Swedish newspapers, from which 57 single articles were chosen and divided into total seven categories and dimensions which were partly developed from the theoretical base and partly from the chosen material itself. By using a qualitative analysis I have found following: In most articles the concept Multiculture is used in an anthropological sense, meaning that the presence of several anthropological cultures is claimed before the concept Multiculture can be real. An anthropological culture is of varying size and contents, in the majority of the articles an anthropological culture consists of a non-western and foreign country but can also represent a region or a continent. Aesthetic culture is, for the most part, used primary as an aid to define the current anthropological culture and not to stand for its own belonging to a specific genre..

Integration projects at two libraries: Multiculture, meetings and possibilities takes its start in the fact that Sweden is populated with people from many different nations. The libraries have a unique possibility to arrange integration projects as a supplier of culture and information. This case study focuses on two integration projects arranged by two libraries; the library of Jönköping with the project Brobyggarbiblioteken, and the library of Kortedala which was involved in the project Ordbron. My purpose is to find out how these two libraries chose to work with integration, migrants and Multiculture. The aim is to examine if the library could function as a passway to the Swedish society, and to find out if the library can facilitate for migrants to maintain contact with their native country.

My thesis is based on a qualitative study. The purpose of the study is to investigate whether the educationalist at an especially chosen school in Stockholm promotes the students multicultural background in the education or not.This is due to the fact that the Swedish school to a considerable degree reflects the multicultural Swedish society. The socio-cultural starting point is when people come together and meet. The language is the tool of the socio-culture and it is the dialogue, discussion and sympathetic understanding that makes people meet.The cultural concept is diffuse and very wide. Everyone has their own definition of it.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka gymnasieungdomars perspektiv på undervisning kring främlingsfientlighet och mångkultur. I min litteraturgenomgång har jag fångat upp vad forskningen kring dessa områden menar är relevanta. Som datainsamlingsmetod valde jag att använda mig av gruppintervjuer. Sammanlagt deltog elva elever i undersökningen. Resultatet från mina gruppintervjuer diskuteras sedan mot den forskning jag presenterat i tidigare avsnitt samt mot olika gymnasieskolans olika styrdokument.

Integration är ett komplext begrepp som kan ses utifrån flera perspektiv och synvinklar. Dramapedagogik emellertid utgår från olika typer av värdeord baserade i en gemensam värdegrund. Centrala begrepp i detta är demokrati, acceptens och alla människors lika värde. Syftet med uppsatsen är att kartlägga, systematisera och problematisera forskning om hur drama kan användas, eller har använts i integrationssyfte. Hur ser dialogen ut inom forskningsfältet drama och integration? Vad säger det om dramapedagogikens betydelse i integrationsprocesser? Kan man urskilja några teman och i så fall vilka?Som metod används en litteraturstudie med en kvalitativ ansats som vilar på utvalda begrepp som ingår i en integrationsprocess.Resultatet visar fyra olika kategorier där drama används som metod i integrationsprocesser.

The purpose of this paper was to look into how the individual has been portrayed in the different curriculums for Swedish compulsory school from the 60?s to the 90?s. This was done in order to see what type of discourse ?monocultural- multicultural- or intercultural- the understanding of the individual has led to.The purpose was divided into five questions: Who is the individual in the curriculums? How is the individual portrayed in relation to education in the curriculums? How is the individual portrayed in relation to society in the curriculums? What type of discourse - monocultural- multicultural- or intercultural- is mirrored in the different curriculums? Is it possible to see tendencies in the discourses that lead closer to, or farther away from, an intercultural perspective? The material that was analysed consists of four different curriculums: Lgr 62, Lgr 69, Lgr 80, and Lpo 94.The method used was a discourse analytic approach based on the theory of social constructionism. The answers to the questions asked were structured with the support from definitions of monocultural discourse, multicultural discourse, and intercultural discourse, derived from Pirjo Lahdenperäs (2008) descriptions of different organizational cultures.The main conclusion drawn from this analysis was the fact that the intercultural discourse about the individual has not been obtained.

Detta arbete är en studie av hur undervisningen i historia ser ut utifrån ett mångkulturellt perspektiv. Jag har gjort en undersökning på en svensk gymnasieskola och intervjuat elever med utomeuropeisk bakgrund för att ta reda på om deras bakgrund nämns i historieundervisningen. Jag har även intervjuat lärare på samma skola för att höra hur de resonerar kring historieundervisningen ur ett mångkulturellt perspektiv. Arbetet diskuterar också kring vems historia som förmedlas i skolan samt om det finns skillnader på hemmets och skolans historieförmedling vad gäller utomeuropeiska invandrarelever. Tanken var att sätta fokus på hur historia förmedlas till invandrarelever samt på om dessa elevers historia tas upp i undervisningen.

Denna kvalitativa studie bygger på intervjuer med sex svensklärare vid tre olika gymnasieskolor. Genom att göra parintervjuer med lärarna har jag undersökt hur de tolkar skrivningarna om kulturarv och kulturell mångfald i läroplanen, Lpf94. Jag har även frågat hur de anser att deras undervisning påverkas av dessa ord i läroplanen.Orden kulturarv och kulturell mångfald är inte definierade i Lpf94. Lärarnas svar visar på hur denna brist på konkretisering av innehållet skapar viss osäkerhet men också speglar den bredd av tolkningar som det kan ge upphov till. Denna svårighet att definiera och ge utrymmer för en bredd i tolkningen är något som tidigare forskning också har påtalat.Resultatet visar att dessa sex lärare är väl medvetna om det dubbla uppdraget, att förmedla kulturarvet och att ha en kulturell mångfald i undervisningen.
