This paper aims to examine performance Monitoring in project organisations. The number of organisations that regularly performs projects as a key part of their operations grows rapidly, why this topic has become of large interest. Through a theoretical framework developed by Lars Östman in 1977, the performance Monitoring system of the Swedish government-owned public utility Svenska Kraftnät is studied closely. The results from this analysis are then linked to an analysis of the organisation's internal structure through Mintzbergs generic organisational structures. Close connections are found between organisational structure and performance Monitoring, which leads on to interesting observations about the connection between size of a project organisation and choice of Monitoring method..

Intelligence is an elusive concept with strong links to business intelligence , in which organizations have recently more and more have incorporated the use of IT (Information Technology). A research carried out recently have identified the importance of effective Monitoring, but there are few studies showing how organizations actually work in the field.A qualitative study consisting of the interviews with employees at an IT company was done to see how external Monitoring is carried out in practice, in a specific company and how it would help the company to develop. The company we visited did not work with special procedures of any kind regarding external Monitoring but still knew about the term and its meaning.The conclusion account for detected patterns as well as difficulties, including the definition of external Monitoring which differs a lot between individuals. The Göta älv-bridge is a welded steelbridge which is located in Gothenburg,it connects the inner city of Gothenburgwith the island Hisingen. Cracks wasdiscovered in the steel in 1999-2000which started an investigation of thebridge to clearify the condition of thebridge. The conclusion was a Monitoringsystem based on laser light sent throughan optical fiber.This report describes the bridge, thedamages, the Monitoring system and thetraffic on the bridge.Stefan Pup, at Vectura Borlänge was mysupervisor during this work. In myinvestigation the costs of theMonitoring system and the costs ofclosing the bridge is compared andevaluated. This is a qualitative study based on eight interviews, four of which have been probation inspectors and three have been external controllers, or controllers as they say, and one have been an email interview with the headquarters of the correctional treatment. The interviews have been made on probation service offices in southern Sweden.The purpose of this study is to investigate how the professionals in Probation service see their work with intensive supervision with electronic Monitoring. We are interested in their work from mainly three aspects, how they look at their control, how they see the intensive supervision with electronic Monitoring as collective punishment and how they work with the client's family.In our results it emerges through interviews that probation staff in general find it difficult to work with the Children Convention (CRC) and the law when it comes to intensive supervision with electronic Monitoring. They mostly do not believe that intensive supervision with electronic Monitoring is a collective punishment for the adults but when it comes to children it becomes a longer discussion with different arguments and thoughts.Our results have found that in comparison to prison, most people seem to find that intensive supervision with electronic Monitoring is a decent punishment. Most of the professionals are aware, and think it's important to recognize, that they are in a position of power in relation to the client.In the analysis, we establish an outcome from the interviews into our theories and trying to find a connection between them..

The environmental Monitoring in Sweden has been developed by several different parties and is now being coordinated and made more effective in order to meet the current demands on high quality information regarding the state of the environment. Sweden has been divided into five different water districts based on watershed areas because of requirements in the Water Directive of the EU. In Sweden there are two common types of environmental Monitoring programs used to gather information on changes in time and in space. Currently both these two types are used for lakes in the water district of the western sea but only one is used for watersheds. The purpose of this report is to supply basic information regarding the possible need for a second environmental Monitoring program for watersheds in order to better describe the spatial variation within the district as well as to determine the number of samples necessary in order to describe the district over time and space.

Background. Anesthetic-related death in small animal anesthesia is about ten times more common than in human anesthesia. Recent research identifies the early postoperative period as particularly risky and highlights the need for regular and careful Monitoring of the veterinary patient during this period. Objective. The running of gas turbines with low emissions causes high pressure pulsations to arise in the combustion chamber. These pulsations are high amplitude sound vibrations. If not purified leachate from landfills would cause damages on the environment. At most landfills in Sweden local treatment of leachate is achieved, at the rest the leachate is transported to sewertreatment. While no comprehensive legal provisions for discharge exist in Sweden there is a difference in discharges between the installations for landfill. If no comprehensive legal provisions is produced guidance must improve.Treatment of leachate and self Monitoring system at fifteen installations in Sweden has been studied and compared. A study of literature about different treatment solutions has also been performed.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det fanns någon samvariation mellan föräldrar som hade tillåtande attityder samt låg Monitoring(föräldrars bristande tillsyn över sina ungdomar) och riskbeteende i alkohol, tobak, narkotika och/eller spel hos deras ungdomar, samt att studera eventuella könsskillnader. Studien gjordes i samarbete med Samhällsmedicin vid Landstinget Gävleborg. Metoden som användes var en kvantitativ och studien grundades på datamaterial på 1735 ungdomar från Centralförbundet för alkohol- och narkotikaupplysningens (CAN) totalundersökning som hade genomförts bland eleverna i årskurs nio i Gävleborgs län i år 2008. Eventuell samvariation undersöktes med hjälp av korstabeller och det beräknade 95 procents konfidensintervall. Resultatet visade att ungdomar till föräldrar med tillåtande attityder och låg Monitoring hade ett riskbeteende i alkohol, tobak, narkotika och spel i större utsträckning jämfört med ungdomar som inte hade detta, där föräldraMonitoring var den mest betydelsefulla påverkansfaktorn för ungdomars substansbruk.

The purpose of this report is to make an evaluation of the self-Monitoring for scarification which Stora Enso is using and this study deals with the effects and importance of scarification. A comparison is made in this study with the purpose to highlight any differences between some of the leading forestry companies and significant forest organizations in Sweden. The companies represented in this report are Korsnäs, Mellanskog, SCA, Sveaskog and Södra. In the beginning of this study an interview form was set up together with Daniel Forsberg at Stora Enso. Stora Enso is the head object of this report and seven interviews were made within that company. At the other companies only three interviews were made within each one, with an exception to Mellanskog who wished four.
