The present MA thesis analyzes how body and blood functions as historical and narrative elements in Yu Hua's novel Chronicle of a Blood Merchant (1995). In the novel, the story and the plot can not be regarded as disparate items; the two levels of the text are tightly interwoven by what the thesis introduces as a sangvinolent narration. The term conceptualizes the use of blood as a structural element and the thrust of the text, in this case how the ability to sell blood is a prerequisite for the story and the plot.Close readings reveal the structural correlations between the blood-selling main-character Xu Sanguan in the plot on the one hand, and in the story on the other, which can be detected to have, inter alia, an effect on the temporality of the narrative. Themes linked to identity, belonging and survival (performativity, Mimicry, reification and alienation) permeate the text. In the novel the body and bodily fluids are sacrificed in order to form and enforce perceptions of identity and societal roles.The rhetorical use of ?blood and tears? (Ch.

Zürn was mostly active in the surrealist avantgarde in Paris during the 1950ies - and 60ies. The male surrealist images of women was polarised in to the godlike, child and the erotic, convulsive object. The mythologizied woman was the muse of men´s creativity. But still there were many women artists who participated in the movement, so clearly there was something in surrealism that attracted women.

The purpose of this essay is to analyze how the Trojan prince Paris is described in the Iliad and in the movie Troy in regard to love and bravery. Thereafter an analysis of the similarities and differences between the Iliad and the movie Troy will be made. There will also be a discussion why there are differences between an epic story which was made for over two thousand years ago and a modern movie made in the twenty-first century. The differences will be based on the perspective ancient Greek culture versus filmmaking of the twenty-first century. The method that has been used is narrative analysis where the primary data, the Iliad and the movie Troy, have been interpreted.                        The Trojan prince Paris is described as a young, handsome man driven by his passion for Helen.

Många individer är inte accepterade i samhället på grund av att de avviker. Detta är ett stort problem då de riskerar utanförskap och sämre livskvalitet. Vad jag därmed kommer att studera i denna uppsats är hur avvikande individer bemöts i samhället och hur de svarar på detta bemötande. De filmer som jag kommer att utgå ifrån i analysen är The Elephant Man (1980) av David Lynch och Mask (1985) av Peter Bogdanovich. Jag kommer sedan att använda mig av socialpsykologin som teori för att kunna analysera hur och varför detta sker.

De senaste årens långa och kalla vintrar har lett till ett ökat antal halkolyckor. Genom att undersöka halkolyckors utsträckning samt halkskydd som fanns tillgängliga konstaterades det att ett behov av nya halkskydd fanns. Enkäter för att ge svar på användning av halkskydd togs fram och svar från personer i åldrarna 20-65 visade att man överlag inte använde halkskydd. I stor utsträckning berodde det på halkskyddens dåliga kvalité och den negativa stämpeln som fanns på dem . Textila material undersöktes för att finna lämpliga egenskaper.

Kronisk exacerbativ uveit (ERU) är en av de vanligare ögonsjukdomarna hos häst och drabbar hästnäringen svårt. Det är idag accepterat att sjukdomen är immunologiskt medierad och syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att klargöra de immunologiska mekanismer som ligger bakom sjukdomsförloppet. Detta genom att utreda vad som inducerar uveit och hur återfall av uveit uppkommer samt de autoimmuna mekanismer som är aktiva vid sjukdomen. Grundbulten i ett friskt öga är dess upprätthållande av ett immunprivilegium då en inflammation skulle kunna förstöra strukturer som inte kan repareras igen. Om de barriärer som upprätthåller ögats immunstatus bryts tillåts immunförsvarceller nå ögats strukturer, något som observeras vid ERU.
