The essay is an effort to examine and define three examples of Liminal dance performances through an aesthetic, hermeneutic and semiotic analysis. The examples are three dance or Liminal performances, made by three different choreographers and performed at ?Moderna Dansteatern? and ?Dansens Hus? in Stockholm during September and October 2005. In the effort to determine the Liminal and cross-over in the performances, the analysis focus on aspects such as: the character of the work, choreography, the use of scenery, stage light, requisites, conception of place and interior room, the use of costume and mask, the use of different media as text, pictures, film, and music or not using any these, and the interaction with the audience. The analysis depends on a historical background and the use of literature in the subject.

1900-talets sista fyra decennier innebar stora förändringar för kyrkorna i såväl globalt som lokalt perspektiv. Två rörelser inom kristenheten spelade stor roll för utvecklingen: den ekumeniska rörelsen och den karismatiska rörelsen. Mötet mellan de etablerade kyrkorna och framför allt den karismatiska förnyelserörelsen var inte enkelt. Tonläget mellan dem var tidvis högt. Under 1980- och 90-talen skadades relationer mellan både människor och organisationer vid sådana möten.

This paper is a study of female Liminal developments in a selection of Grimm's fairy tales using van Gennep?s and Lincoln?s theoretical bases. An inductive technique has been used to analyze the results according to the theoretical agendas. To my help I have used Swedish translations of the Grimms? fairy tales from 1883, 1946, 2003 and 2007.The study shows that the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales display the transition rituals identified by Van Gennep and Lincoln.

Bronze Age cairns have been interpreted as everything from navigation marks to marking Liminal places in the landscape. It has also been stated that the main purpose of their location is to be visible. This is something that has been taken for granted. The main problem is the cairns have been considered as a homogenous monument. With the help of digital methods like GIS it is possible to test this kind of questions in quantitative way.

ABSTRACT  I den här uppsatsen ville jag visa hur kryssningspassagerarnas beteende kan beskrivas med hjälp av karnevaleska teorier i reality-programmet ?Färjans? sista säsong. Syftet var att visa hur det finns andra sätt att analysera serien på än enbart med hjälp av medieteoretiker som är kritiska till genre reality-tv som sådan. Jag har velat visa passagerarnas handlingsutrymme i programmet och beskriva hur deras handlingar ombord på båten kan ses som karnevaleska. Jag utgick från antropologiska teorier om karnevalen och det karnevaleska med hjälp av främst Victor Turner och Roberto DaMatta.

Syftet med vår magisteruppsats är att undersöka kunders förväntningar på butiksutbudet i förhållande till en plats som från början inte varit ämnad för handel av varor och tjänster men som nu är under förändring.Vi har använt oss av en kombinerad strategi. Detta innebär att vi kombinerat en kvantitativ enkätundersökning som genomfördes under tre dagar på en flygbuss mellan Helsingborg och Ängelholm med tre stycken kvalitativa telefonintervjuer som vardera tog mellan 15-20 minuter. Vi analyserar vårt empiriska material ur ett kvalitativt perspektiv.Denna magisteruppsats grundas främst på teorier om förväntningar och föreställningar som påverkar dessa, samt platser. Vi använder oss av begrepp som förväntningsdynamik, plats och ickeplats. Teorikapitlet utmynnar sedan i en modell baserad på dessa teorier.Vi har kunnat visa att flygplatsen som plats starkt påverkar flygresenärernas förväntningar.

The main discussion in this essay concern what the Emerging Church is, its sociological and theological context, their main critique of modernism and the consequences in theology and praxis. EC is not a new church but wants to be a new way of being church. In England much of the discussion concerning EC has found a context within the report Mission-Shaped Church (MSC). EC differs from Emergent Village which is a continuing discussion from a postmodern philosophical view.EC is born in an evangelical context with the tensions in the postmodern context, the Liminal situation with among other items the disussion about a liquid culture and liquid church. Other backgroundfactors are the ChurchGrowth-movement, Willow Creek and the Gospel and Our Culture.EC critisizes its evangelical background and moves the center from justification to incarnation, from propostionalism, individualism, mission and activism to a theology of incarnational community life.Four different proponents are considered; Brian Mclaren, Dan Kimball, Karen Ward and Ben Edson.

Ruins and derelict places have since long fascinated and attracted humans. With my starting point in the wild vegetation and the spontaneous activities taking place on derelict land and in industrial ruins, I explore with help from the theoretical sociology, what creates not only this fascination but also fear. The purpose of the thesis is to explore and exemplify how the industrial ruin as a place outside the restrictions and control as well as design intentions of modern society can be used as an inspiration in a landscape architecture context.The modern city consists of areas and places with a well defined purpose. A piece of derelict land or a disused building is instead ambiguous, undefined and open for new purposes. However described in negative terms, these placesare often perceived as places of mystery and magic.
