The object of this master's thesis is to study students writtenappendixes for their first-year-essay, (A-uppsats). In theappendixes the students are asked to describe their search forinformation within five areas; strategy, resources, terminology,analysis and usefulness. The appendixes for the years 2006-2009are studied, 184 appendixes consisting of one A4 page each.This thesis focuses upon the study of resources, processes andfeelings displayed in the appendixes. The theories of Tom Wilson,Carol Collier Kuhlthau and Louise Limberg are used, as results ofother studies within the area. Connections with theories oninformation literacy are also made.The results show that students usually do as they are instructed bylibrarians if it is profitable for their studies.

Problem discussion: Syncron experience a challenge in realizing the full market potential of its newly developed IT-based price management system, Global Price Management (GPM). The system has already been implemented and is currently running with success within the IT-structures of the first customer. The fact that the development of the system has been initiated by a customer, and thereby has left Syncron oblivious of the real underlying drivers and incentives for the development, is part of the problem. Understanding the customers? incentives for developing their pricing process thus reducing the application uncertainty is a good starting point.

This thesis deals with different methods for measuring moisture-related dimensional changes ofwood. Typically relative humidity is measured to determine if the ambient climate around anobject is harmful to it or not. Values between 40 to 65% RH are recommended for hygroscopicmaterials. To know how a wooden object actually reacts to changes in the surroundingenvironment requires methods that involve the object itself. Because of the wood anisotropy,differences in wood structure, finishes and other restraints, it is not always possible to predict themovements.This paper addresses various measurement methods, primarily methods that have been testedin the field of conservation, with examples of their use.

The aim of this paper has been to examine personas role in the development phase and whether or not some of the criticism that have aroused against personas is valid or not. In this paper we examine the benefits as well as the downsides of working with personas both from a scientific point of view but also from the experiences of a small company located in the north of Sweden. Svårigheter att hitta relevant information på internet är ett stort problem som kostar svenskar både tid och pengar. På internet finns komplexa informationsmiljöer med stora mängder data och i dessa miljöer är det särskilt viktigt att användare får stöd i sitt letande. Det finns tidigare forskning inriktad på att kvantitativt undersöka användares informationsletande men en brist på kvalitativ forskning inom området. I denna studie undersöks användarbeteenden kvalitativt genom sex intervjuer och observationer med användare av den komplexa informationsmiljön Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP). För att ta reda på användarnas informationsmål samt hur lätt det är för användare att hitta information i UCDP har gränssnittets upplevda användarnytta, hittbarhet och användbarhet undersökts.

Uppsatsen faller inom MDI-området. Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att kombinera en produktmodell med usability-teori för att appliceras på skivaffärer på Internet. Fokus har legat mot utarbetande av s.k. guidelines för formgivning av internetbaserade skivaffärer utifrån användares personliga upplevelser vid utförandet av kritiska uppgifter hos tjänsten. New tools for the assessment of aphasia are important for bothclinical work and research. To see how they relate to already existing testscan increase their usefulness. Western Aphasia Battery ? Revised was translatedto Swedish and compared with the Swedish aphasia test A-ning, partlyto compare content and partly to see how sixteen people aged between 22and 92 with aphasia performed on the tests. The subtests did not correspondcompletely and the type of items included varied a lot.

Uppsatsen behandlar ämnet användbarhet i mobila webblösningar med inriktning mot tidningsbranschen. En jämförelse mellan de två aktuella designfilosofier, dedikerad design och responsiv design, för den mobila webben har utförts genom att fokusera på användbarhet, där centrala begrepp studerats. Begreppen är som följer: Usefulness, Efficiency, Effectivness, Learnability, Satisfaction. Mixade metoder i form av enkätstudier, heuristiska tester, användartester, intervjuer och prestandatester har utförts för att samla in empiriskt material för analys och för att sedan ge en slutsats angående vilken av de två designfilosofierna som tenderar att ge hög användbarhet i system som exempelvis tidningssajter i mobilen.De mest intressanta resultaten var att, sett ur användbarhetssynpunkt, var båda designfilosofier likvärdiga, majoriteten svarade att de testade sajterna fungerade på liknande sätt. Alla uppgifter kunde utföras utan större problem på båda sajterna vilket uppfyller kravet för effectivness.

Many companies today are investing in various computer-based tools to support their planning, decision making or communication processes. However, end users are often reluctant to accept the available information systems, which mean that these investments are extremely risky. Understanding why users choose to accept or reject an information system has proved to be one of the most challenging problems in this research area. Previous studies have focused on users' beliefs and attitudes regarding use intentions, but the results have, however, been both mixed and incomplete. In this study, I have used the Swedish youth? s use intention of mobile banking and a quantitative study was performed based on five different hypotheses derived from previous studies.

The purpose of this study was to describe senior nurses? expectations concerning how a digital information and communication technology systems (ICT) can contribute to the improvement of care leadership and how it can strengthen ties between the school's theoretical world and the practical clinical work-based training (WP) in nursing. The study has a descriptive design with a qualitative approach. The study involved seven leading care nurses. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews.

The purpose of this master thesis is to study the correlation and meaning of current ideas and practice at the public library of Gothenburg. This was done by comparing the visions and ideas expressed by the library through the library plan, with how the daily practice looks. For the theoretical framework organizational theory is used and research data was collected both from public documents and through observations. The public library of Gothenburg were chosen for the study because of it's newly renovated facilities. The idea is that these facilities make a suitable study object of the current ideas and priorities of the public Swedish library in general.The results show that the public library practice in Sweden still rests on the original public library ideas such as offering information for free and treating every user as equal.

With access to internet, mobile payment can take over the role as the primary method of payment, as it can be used on any occasion. Questions are raised about which factors that are affecting the future users? attitude to use mobile payment, and if the service can be a threat to the traditional card payments.Method: This study is based on a quantitative method by the means of a survey design.
