The Effects of Culture on Retail Customer Service Expectations in the US and Sweden

This thesis attempts to clarify the impact of cultural differenceson customer Expectations of service level. Furthermore, wewant to determine whether or not Expectations of service differenough to be quantifiable between two countries, Sweden andthe US, mostly regarded as similar in business practices. The conclusion showed that higher ratings on four of Hofstede?s five cultural indexes were associated with higher customer service Expectations overall, and in all four SERVQUAL dimensions. This research contributes to retail internationalization and customer Expectations theory.

The purpose of this thesis was to look into how event management companies got knowledge about their customers? Expectations and how they are influenced by these Expectations. A case study was conducted based upon interviews with two employees from two companies that are in the business. The study has shown that event management companies do try to get awarness about their customers' Expectations, especially by listening and discussing with the customer. Personal contact is an efficient way of communicating and a way to avoid misunderstandings, which is a common mistake when customers' Expectations are not met.

To be able to adopt, the future adoptive parents must participate in parental education and have a home investigation done. The home investigation is extensive and great demands are made on the parents. The purpose with this study was to get an insight and understanding in the parents? thoughts and feelings about the demands and Expectations that are made on them during an international adoption. To answer this, we used these questions: Which demands and Expectations are made on the future adoptive parents by the home investigator and the parental educator? How do the future adoptive parents experience the demands and Expectations that are made on them before an adoption? Does the apprehension about the demands and Expectations differ between the future adoptive parents and the home investigator contrary the parental educator? We used a qualitative method, interviewing four couples of parents, one home investigator and one parental educator.

The Swedish early childhood system is considered among the best in the world, however, in spite of this, we feel that there exists a conflict between educators? and parents? Expectations of ?a good preschool?. During our teacher education training we have observed many different preschools and almost in all of them we have listened to anecdotes about one or more conflicts arising between educators and parents and which we have been able to pinpoint toward differing Expectations. HIV/AIDS. En litteraturstudie om HIV/AIDS-patienters upplevelser av att leva med sjukdomen och förväntningar på vårdpersonal vid möten i samband med vård/omvårdnad

The purposes of litteratur review were to describe patients experiences of living with HIV/AIDS and and their Expectations when in contact with care/healthcare. As theoretical frame has Antonovsky, A (1991) salutogenic model, sense of coherence been used. After analyzing the content of the litterature it resulted in 5 categories of experiences and 3 categories regarding Expectations. The categories that regards experiences were, to feel frustration and dependance, to switch between hope and despair and suicidal thoughts, to be able to cope with the changing self and to feel social support. The categories that regards Expectations were, to feel proffessionalism/competence, to get caring treatment and feeling secure, to feel engagement/individuality in caring.

 The aim with this essay is to examine the individual's Expectations in the meeting with a job coach. It has become all more common with job coaches, in order to meet the unemployment in the society. The survey builds on a quantitative method, where 29 individuals who are linked to a changeover-program towards new jobs, have replied to a questionnaire. The survey shows that the participants have Expectations on the coach as a supporting function. There is also a trust to that the contact with a coach will lead to new employment.

I interviewed teachers and parents, sent surveys to parents, observed children playing school and interviewed children about their thoughts and Expectations for the preschool in the school there.The survey results show that all parties, except perhaps the children who did not express an opinion thereon, wants better cooperation between the preschool and school.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and describe the variation in perceptions of demands and Expectations of study performance among a group of students at an upper secondary school. The study is inspired by a phenomenographic approach in which variations in perceptions of a phenomenon are of importance. Twelve students at a science program participated and were interviewed in groups of four. The results show that among the students there are several different perceptions of the demands and Expectations to perform they felt present in their lives. The most important result is that it is the students' own demands and Expectations on their performance and study results that are seen as the most demanding..

The aim of this bachelor?s thesis is to examine what Expectations a few, adult, frequent library users have on librarians' competences at a specific library. We also aim to compare how well the library users' Expectations relates to how the librarians describe their own competences.The method used to gather the empirical information in this study is the qualitative semi-structured interview. We interviewed six library users and the four librarians who are employed at the library where we placed our study. The results of our interviews were analyzed with the help of a model based on Anders Ørom?s librarian identities.

The purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge of individualism also how individualism is applied in a teacher?s classroom. In this study we examined co-workers experiences of having a previous colleague as their leader, which is relatively common. We made qualitative interviews with six social welfare administrators who had been through this situation at work. The questions had been concentrated at how they were affected by the previous relationship, what Expectations they had, and their view of how the business had been handled by their leader. The result of these interviews has then been connected to two leadership theories. The conclusion of the study was that the experience of the situation differs.
