The purpose of this study is to compare the contents, Editorials and front covers of Sweden?s oldest girl?s magazine Veckorevyn during two different years, in which the magazine had two very different chief Editors.In the year 2000, Emma Hamberg got the job as Editor-in-chief for Veckorevyn, with a vision of changing the way the magazine represented young females. She wanted to add a more feminist viewpoint to the magazine, since she felt that Veckorevyn didn?t live up to its claim of being ?a girl?s best friend?. Six years later, the famous Swedish fashion Editor Ebba von Sydow became Editor-in-chief for Veckorevyn, with the intention of making the magazine better, smarter and more fun for young girls.

AbstractPurpose/Aim: To investigate how the positions between the paper, the public and the elite in society have changed on Aftonbladets Op-Eds and Letter to the Editor-pages between 1999 to 2005. In a wider context this means Aftonbladets potential to contribute to the role of the press as a forum of public debate.Material/Method: The study focuses on one week during 1999, 2002 and 2005. Here a quantitative contents analyse with inspiration from conversation (dialogue) analyse has been used.Main results: The study shows that the paper has strengthened its position over this period of time. Mainly by taking a more active role in forming and encouraging the debate. The public was given more space in 2002, then in 1999 and 2005.

Manligt och kvinnligt enligt kvinnor och män : En kvalitativ undersökning av ledarna i fyra livsstilsmagasin

The purpose of this thesis is to study how femininity and masculinity is portraited in theEditorials of four Swedish lifestyle magazines; Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Moore and Slitz. Themain questions we based our study on are: What kind of relationship does the Editor in chiefcreate with the intended reader? What conception of the world does the Editor in chief createin the Editorials? How does the Editor in chief portray masculinity and femininity?In order to answer the questions above we performed a qualitative analysis of the Editorials offour lifestyle magazines published during 2007. We used a discourse analysis with emphasison gender and how the Editorials constructed masculinity and femininity and its stereotypicaltraits.Furthermore we based our results on a theory of the socially constructed gender. According tothis theory gender is constructed during our childhood and adolescense by the individuals andthe society surrounding us.

Evaluation and Comparison of Ecological Models Simulating Nitrogen Processes in Treatment Wetlands,Implemented in Modelica

Two ecological models of nitrogen processes in treatment wetlands have been evaluated and compared. These models have been implemented, simulated, and visualized in the Modelica language. The differences and similarities between the Modelica modeling environment used in this thesis and other environments or tools for ecological modeling have been evaluated. The modeling tools evaluated are PowerSim, Simile, Stella, the MathModelica Model Editor, and WEST. The evaluation and the analysis have been performed using McCall?s factors for software quality (McCall et al, 1977), a correlation analysis and the Constant Comparative Method (Glaser&Strauss, 1999).

This thesis examines the experience value of the wolf and wolf hunting presented in mediaduring December 17, 2009-Feruary 15, 2010. I analyze news articles, Editorials and letters tothe Editor in three newspapers. In order to investigate the experience value of the wolf and thewolf hunt, I have with inspiration from a model employed in the assessment of experiencevalue of tangible cultural heritage, developed a model which I use to analyze the mediamaterial according to the criteria of aesthetic value, identity value, value of tradition andsymbolic value. In order to analyze the results of the analyze, I employ experimental andsociocultural theory and method, which means that I assume the experiences of the wolf andthe wolf hunt as related to a social and cultural perspective that partly depends on how weidentify ourselves and what kind of experiences and understandings we have of the landscapeand large carnivores. Since media affects how we perceive our surroundings and the wolfhunting attracted much attention in media, I found it interesting to examine how the wolf andthe wolf hunt were displayed in news articles and letters to the Editor.

Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) is a way to graphically draw a diagram of a business process. A BPMN diagram consists of several so-called flow objects. These are interconnected in the graph through sequence  flows. BPMN models are merely graphical representations of business process and there is a need to simulate these diagrams for different purposes. The simulation that now is available for BPMN is that the model is evaluated by checking if it is correct.

DSL-generering och grafisk representation

Att hitta ett komplement till stora XML-filer kan vara svårt, men kan också vara nödvändigt. På IdaInfront använder man sig idag utav XML-filer för att sätta upp konfigurationerna på hur man ska bygga upp ett projekt i deras program iipax. Dessa blir ofta väldigt stora och oöverskådliga samt att det inte finns någon smidig grafisk representation på hur de olika typerna hör ihop för att få en enkel överblick, det är här mitt examensarbete kommer in.Jag har skapat en prototyp på hur man med ett domän specifikt språk (DSL) kan ersätta XML syntaxen och på så sätt få det mera läsbart och samtidigt göra en grafisk representation på hur de olika noderna är kopplade till varandra.Jag använde mig av ett verktyg som heter XText för att ta fram mitt DSL då det gav en bra grund samt att man får olika hjälpverktyg så som auto-complete förslag, färgkodning, validering mm.För att få fram en grafisk Editor använde jag mig av ett verktyg som heter Eugenia som är en del av Epsilon som utveklar verktyg för olika typer av hantering av EMF modeller i Eclipse. Det gav en smidig koppling mellan den DSL jag utformade i XText med en grafisk Editor som Eugenia automatiskt genererade på omkring 600 filer utifrån två filer med inställningar som jag modifierade.Jag fick fram ett bra resultat för en prototyp i mindre skala. Dock använder sig IdaInfront av så många noder per projekt så det blir ganska snabbt svårt att se helheten i den grafiska Editorn.

Designprocessen för en ?next-gen?-spelkaraktär är i dag förhållandevis invecklad och innehåller många olika moment innan den når sitt slutgiltiga stadium med en färdig karaktär som resultat. Den här artikeln dokumenterar designprocessen för en spelkaraktär från början till slut och kommer att se mycket till den kreativa men även den tekniska aspekten av detta arbete.
