Säkra kommunikationskanaler i en distribuerad heterogen miljö

The systems environments of today are often distributed and heterogeneous. These kind of systems have several advantages but also disadvantages. One problem is how to keep them secure. The security problems in these environments are mainly due to the communication between the connected computers. It is relatively easy to tap these communication Channels from information. There is also a need for the possibility to secure these Channels from modification of sent information and to be able to verify the sender and receiver of information in a secure manner.

FPGA-design av en STDM-baserad multiplexer för seriell multiprotokollskommunikation

The remotely operated underwater vehicles that the client develops have needs of different kinds of data Channels. In order to minimize the need of physical cable between the control unit and a ROV, a multiplex protocol has been developed. The protocol has been designed with the aim of using the bandwidth of the transferring link as efficient as possible. The different kinds of data Channels used during this thesis project is; RS232, RS485 and CAN. ROM and FIFO-memories have been used to be able to effectively manage the different data Channels. All the reading and sending of these Channels have been implemented in FPGA-technology, the coding is made generic so that it will be easier to add more Channels to the system in the future. The multiplex protocol is a modified version of the method STDM and it is a proprietary protocol.

The evolution of the media landscape and the introduction of social media have increased thenumber of communication Channels tremendously during the last decade. These new Channels have also made an impact on the information control, which has shifted focus from organisations to consumers. In order to communicate one coherent image in the numerous existing Channels, organisations need to create strategies that take this into account and makes sure the same messages are communicated through all Channels. One way to do this is to use integrated marketing communication (IMC). Since the social media is a relatively new phenomenon, there is no clear way of how to include social media into an IMC strategy.

Analys av ett företags internkommunikation med hjälp av CSM

ternal communication in an organization by using CSM Communication Situations Model [18[upps-01.gif The topic of this master thesis is internal organizational communication and factors influencing the way people in an organization communicate with each other. The purpose of the study is to, by using a specific model called Communication Systems/Situations Model CSM, identify the social context of a given organization and examine how it relates to the dimensions of communicational behaviour which are presented in CSM. We would also like to see how the different parts of CSM affects the choice of communication Channels. The thesis is based on interviews with eight employees in the specific organization, whom we have asked a number of questions regarding how they communicate with each other and through which Channels. The results show that the social context is very informal within the organization and the relationships between the employees are very open and personal.
