Cultural relict plant species from the Nordic countries have been collected by the Nordic Genetic Resource Center (NordGen) for the purpose of conservation. To ensure high seed vitality in store, regular germination tests need to be conducted. It is important to get a correct viability status, but the knowledge of seed dormancy in the cultural relict plants is often poor. The objective of this study was to investigate how seed dormancy is affected by cold stratification. The study includes 31 accessions from 28 species with the purpose of establishing germination protocols.

Background: When companies decentralize their operations into profit centers, transfer pricing often becomes an integral part in intracompany trade. A profit center may affect both revenues and costs and seek to maximize profit. Transfer Pricing is a complex subject because it is affected by a large number of factors including the profit centers will to generate profits. This leads us to the subject of decision-making in a transfer pricing-systems. On what grounds are decisions made? Are transfer pricing purposes, factors and interests taken into consideration? What type of information is used in such decisions, how is the transfer price issue perceived and how is it used?Aim: The purpose of this thesis is to analyze which type of information that is makes up transfer prices, how the transfer price is perceived by different parties and how it is used for decision-making.Completion: A qualitative study has been performed with current theory as a starting point.

Studiens syfte är att se hur individualistiska och kollektivistiska värderingar kan förstås ur ett intersektionellt perspektiv med fokus på kulturell identitet. I ett bekvämlighetsurval hittade vi respondenter från Mellanstadskommuner i klasser för SFI (Svenska För Invandrare) och SAS (Svenska som Andra Språk) samt kollektivboenden för ensamkommande flyktingbarn. Genom att utföra studien på svenska studenter på två olika gymnasieskolor samt japanska individer erhölls referenspunkter i förhållande till Hofstede?s data gällande kulturella värderingar och dimensioner. Respondenterna fick svara på ett enkätformulär som är utformat av Ph.D.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to examine libraries which combine the functions of school- and public library and to evaluate the staff?s experience and attitude towards a library profile with the emphasis on children and youth. The purpose of the study is also to examine how the libraries work with several tasks and functions within different target groups with different needs.With new institutionalism and Scandinavian institutional theory the thesis examine the library as an organization and what influences the construction. With a model that describes how the library constitutes four different rooms in the society I investigate the different functions.The methodology is qualitative with interviews of five persons of the staff, four librarians and one library assistant. The study examines how the staff that works at two libraries under similar conditions experiences their tasks.

The purpose of this study was to explore how interpersonal relationship can be affected by groing up in a New Religoius Movement such as Jehovah?s Withnesses and how it has affected them both in their youth and today. The aim was also to explore if there were people in the respondents' environment that was significant to them during their childhood and which support our respondents have received if they were in need of it.We have not found any previous research on children's social relationships within the Jehovah's Witnesses. We therefore believe that this study is of high relevance to both society and also for all the professionals who come into contact with these children. To discover a child in need, knowledge about how their social environment looks like is crucial.

Det har talats en hel del i media om fritidspedagogers rätt till legitimation samt om fritidspedagogernas yrkesroller. Denna studies syfte är att undersöka hur fritidspedagoger ser på sin egen professionalitet. Fokus riktas på fritidspedagogernas egen syn på deras centrala färdigheter och kunskaper, hur de tror att lärarnas och föräldrarnas syn är på dem, hur fritidspedagogerna själva kan planera och genomföra sin verksamhet och hur avsaknaden av legitimation påverkar deras yrkesroll. Studien har använt sig av en kvalitativ metod med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Fritidspedagogernasintervjuer analyseras med hjälp av tidigare forskning samt utvalda begrepp och teori.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka svenska ungdomars värderingar, samt att utreda om det fanns någon skillnad mellan pojkar och flickors värderingar. Undersökningarna har tagit avstamp i Ronald Ingleharts teori om att den västerländska människan lämnar materialistiska värderingar för att anamma något som han kallar postmaterialism. Med detta menar han att människan söker inre lycka och personlig tillfredsställelse snarare än materiell välfärd och fysisk trygghet.Metoden som använts har varit en enkätundersökning, där 51 ungdomar på en gymnasieskola i Sverige svarat på frågor om sina värderingar. Därefter har även kvalitativa intervjuer gjorts med fyra utav ungdomarna. Resultaten har sedan jämförts med liknande studier inom ämnesområdet.

Ambitionen är att nå en djupare förståelse för hur elever tänker och resonerar kring begreppet hälsa.Frågeställning:Vad har elever i årskurs nio för uppfattning kring begreppet hälsa?MetodDenna studie bygger på ostrukturerade intervjuer utifrån den kvalitativa metoden. Författaren har intervjuat fyra elever, två killar och två tjejer i årskurs nio. Intervjuerna har skett vid tre olika tillfällen med samma deltagare alla gånger.ResultatFrån resultaten av intervjuerna kan man dra slutsatsen att dessa elever var relativt samstämmiga i uppfattningen om vad begreppet hälsa innebär.

Interviews were conducted with employees of ABB and were to serve as the basis for our empirical work. A survey by the Communication Center was made in the spring 2010 and was also the basis for our empirical work.ConclusionsThe communication has been increasingly from one-to two-way communication. To get a functioning organization, it is required that the internal communication in the first place will work.

Vårt examensarbete har genomförts på företaget Electrolux Laundry Systems (ELS) logistikavdelning, Logistics Center Ljungby (LCL).  Under det senaste året har företaget haft motgångar vid ett IT/IS-projekt inom sin logistikavdelning (LCL). Uppsatsen har således syftat till att beskriva och analysera varför IT/IS-projektet har avstannat, och ej nått implementering. För att uppnå syftet har vi utgått från en, i stort sett, kvalitativ ansats där primärdata har insamlats genom metoder såsom intervjuer och deltagande observationer medan sekundärdata inhämtats i form av dokumentundersökningar och offentliga dokument. Resultatet av studien har utgjorts av deltagande observationer på fallföretagets logistikavdelning, LCL, samt intervjuer med olika verksamhetsnivåer. Detta har påvisat bristande kommunikation och direktiv samt fallföretagets brister i förstudiens utförande vad gäller förankring av projektet, planering av tid, resurser och kostnader samt formulering av krav.

Ungdomars identitet genom chatspråk (The Identity of Youth through the Language of Chat) Malmö: Lärarutbildningen: Malmö högskola Examensarbetet beskriver identitetssökandeprocessen bland ungdomar och på vilket sätt chatspråk formar dagens ungdomars identitet. Syftet med examensarbetet är att beskriva ungdomsperioden och ge en syn på hur chatt formar den nutida ungdomens identitet. Dessutom syftar arbetet till att bidra till föräldrars och vuxnas medvetenhet om en sådan ungdoms livssituation för att de skall kunna ha förståelse för ungdomarna, acceptera deras beteende och språk och vara ett stöd. Arbetet har utgått ifrån följande frågor: Vad kan en identitetssökandeprocess bland ungdomar innebära? På vilket sätt kan chatt och chatspråk forma ungdomars identitet? De metoder som använts för att få svar på frågeställningarna har varit att intervjua ungdomar om chatt och chatspråk och att göra en undersökning av utdragen ur chatt av de intervjuade ungdomarna.

Background: Companies and organizations of today spend large amounts of money on IT-based business solutions. Such business solutions normally include business- consulting and software-creation (IT-related services). Due to the rapid development of the technology within this field of business the IT-customers find it difficult to select among potential suppliers on objective grounds.Purpose: To increase the understanding for the professionl approach of the people involved in the sales- and purchase process of IT-related services in a business-to-business context. The study is taking the buyers'as well as the sellers'perspective into account when analyzing the process. Method: The empirical findings were collected from eight companies in Linköping and Stockholm.

The aim of the study was to examine how background factors, such as abuse earlier in life, affect depression and suicidal behavior, amongst persons who abuse alcohol or illicit drugs. The study was performed at the Social Service Center, Södermalm, department for adults. The data used in the study is based on Addiction Severity Index interviews (ASI) and includes 560 observations. The statistic methods used to analyse the data is chi² test and the result is presented in cross tables and charts. The main findings were that experiences of psychological, physical, or sexual abuse, earlier in life increase the risk for major depression and suicidal behavior later in life.
