Stationsområdet i Växjö genomgår omfattande förändringar, där bland annat planer för ett WTC finns. Ett förslag på nämnda byggnad har tagits fram, men det fick kritik. Man menade att det inte stämde in i stadsbilden. Vårt syfte och mål har därför varit att ta fram alternativa förslag på utformning av ett WTC, med hänsyn till kritiken. Vår metod bestod i att sätta oss in befintliga detaljplaner och utföra eget skissningsarbete.

The aim of this thesis is to explore the institutional design of Participatory Budgeting (PB) in Sweden and how the design may contribute to realize central democratic goods. The study records the different PB experiences in Sweden and focuses on one particular case, which is the only case that successfully qualifies as a genuine PB-process according to international standards and definitions. To examine this, the following questions are asked: which municipalities in Sweden have implemented Participatory Budgeting? How can the institutional design of Participatory Budgeting be described and to what extent does it enable the realization of central democratic goods? To what extent does the institutional design enable the realization of the democratic goods inclusion, popular control, considered judgment and transparency? To what extent does the institutional design enable the realization of the institutional goods of efficiency and transferability?The study is based on an institutional theory of democracy. The method used is a mixed method ideal type analysis that combines document analysis, surveys and interviews.

Ett använt begrepp när det gäller tonårstjejer och sexualitet är sexuell agens, att handla efter egna beslut. Avsikten med denna studie är att nå en ökad förståelse av vad som påverkar utvecklingen av sexuell agens hos tonårstjejer, utifrån berättelser av två professioner vid ungdomsmottagningar. Syftet är också att göra en kritisk analys och en sociologisk teoretisering av upplevelsen av sexuell agens samt utifrån ett maktperspektiv utreda dess disciplinerande och frigörande potential.Tidigare forskning visar främst att det finns en avsaknad av lust och kunskap hos tonårstjejer samt att deras förmåga att ta självständiga beslut i relation till sexualitet är avhängt deras agens. I denna studie genomfördes kvalitativa intervjuer med barnmorskor och kuratorer vid ungdomsmottagningar. Tematisk analysmetod användes vid tolkningsförfarandet.

This report presents the preliminary study and work for the development of a site structure for the upcoming reengineering of inter-tool Infopunkt. The report describes how I have conducted a study regarding the current inter-tool information center and its development potential. Thereafter compiling the information to develop a comprehensive design approach to create a sitemap. The sitemap illustrates a new updated page structure for Infopunkt and was the primary goal of the thesis. The sitemap I have developed will form the basis for the agency that will later on develop the new updated version of Infopunkt..

This essay examines the differences between the mediation practices concering youth crime in the swedish cities of Kalmar and Växjö. The analysis are made with the use of quality interviews which we have linked together with the three theories of Social Control Theory, Restorative Justice and Transformative Mediation. There after we have compared the results with one and another. Results show that there both similarities and differences, both in the theoretical aspects and in the organisations, for example the coopiration with the prosecutors and the police..

The purpose of this paper is to examine how work and individuals is portrayed in today?s labor market policies and workrelated coaching. To do this I am using discourse analysis. My theoretical points are social constructivism, governmentality, coaching and theories regarding activity. The results portray a picture of work as the foundation of society and the main way to break isolation.

Criminality is a very normal problem that occurs between youths within today?s society. In this study we will be accentuating and therefore be focusing on how young men are living their lives with criminality. In this study we have analyzed the underlying factors for what the causes and reasons are for young men to be part of the criminal life. One basic and underlying factor is families, growth, friendships and economic resources.

Denna uppsats behandlar metoden ?Assessment Center? (AC), som alltmer används som ett verktyg i organisations- och verksamhetsutveckling, bl a för urval och utveckling av chefer och ledare. AC är en benämning för en metod som kan användas för bedömning av beteenden hos personer, och anpassas för att mäta olika relevanta kompetenser. Metoden har utvecklats från Tyskland, via England och USA och användes ursprungligen för att rekrytera officerare och underrättelseagenter. AC redovisas generellt som metod samt som myndighetssamverkan ?AC Skåne? mellan Polismyndigheten, Malmö stad samt Försäkringskassan.

The aim of this thesis was to analyse BARO WOOD AB:s timber measuring and quality sorting and to evaluate the analyse program Stockholmen. The purpose was to get a better understanding for the quality sorting made at BARO WOOD AB today, analyse differences in center board quality from logs with a good quality and logs with a bad quality, suggest new sorting criterias developed from analyses made with Stockholmen and to evaluate the program Stockholmen. All analyses are based on data gathered in a test sawing made at BARO WOOD AB in June and July 2002. The test sawing was made on four different diameter classes and every diameter class consisted out of A or M-grade logs, with a better quality, and B-grade logs with a lesser quality. The logs where sorted out with BARO WOOD AB:s existing quality criterias.

Because of lack of request for humanists in the labor market, the question of humanistic skills and employability is becoming increasingly important. The concept of employability importance not only echoes within the economic discussions, but also on everyday agenda in the academic world and takes a large part in the communication between the university and the students. Abstract"Citizen Influence, Forms and Effects - A study of the Resistance Concerning the Establishment of a Juvenile Detention Center in Kristinehamn 2005-2007"Political Science, Johan Utter This essay circles around the concepts of citizenship and the questions if and how citizens in the modern democracy can influence and effect the political decisions made by the governing body on the local level. This is done by the means of a case-study concerning the establishment of an institutional facility for convicted youths in Kristinehamn. The planning of this facility and especially its planned location in Sunneberg aroused a significant negative response from the citizens, demanding a better alternative for the location.The proposition resulted in heavy protests from the citizens as the planned location was viewed as an important recreation area, where the citizens could experience nature first hand, close to the centre of town. As a result, some citizens living close to the planned location, formed a network called "Bevara Sunneberg", whose purpose was to influence the decision-makers and make the citizen?s voices heard.

This thesis describes how social work language practice circulates around the implementation process of an evidence based structured assessment tool – Savry. The purpose is to examine and understand the social workers language practice in a working group that uses this structured assessment tool in their work with youth. The purpose is also to look for dimensions of identity in terms of discourse. The ontological viewpoint is post-structuralism where language is in focus. The theoretical framework is discourse theory based upon the work of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe.

Syftet med studien var att utreda om det fanns kvantitativa och kvalitativa skillnader i elevers upplevelser av hur meningsfullt livet i allmänhet och skolan är, vad som är meningsfullt i skolan samt om de har långsiktiga mål med sin framtid och om det skiljer sig åt mellan elever på en Kunskapsskola och en skola utan liknande arbetsformer. Syftet med studien var också att undersöka om det fanns något samband mellan elevernas upplevelser av meningsfullhet i livet och i skolan. Kunskapsskolan valdes ut som skola av intresse för studien då eleverna på skolan planerar, genomför och följer upp sina personliga mål, vilket i tidigare studier visat sig ha positiv påverkan på upplevelsen av mening. De teoretiska utgångspunkterna som anammades var begreppet meningsfullhet inom Antonovskys teori om känslan av sammanhang, KASAM, samt ungdomars innehav och strävan efter mål och mening i livet enligt teorin om Youth purpose. I studien användes en kvantitativ och en kvalitativ delstudie.

Med SVT Grafiskt Center som samarbetspartner har jag studerat vilka möjligheter det finns att utnyttja rörlighet i informationsgrafik för tv.Tekniken och möjligheterna för vad man kan göra med informationsgrafik har utvecklats och många av de begränsningar som fanns tidigare för vad man kan göra med nyhetsinslag och informationsgrafik i tv finns inte längre. På SVT Grafiskt Center upplever man att SVT, trots avancerad teknik, inte riktigt tagit tillvara på nya möjligheter att utveckla informationsgrafiken. Man upplever att informationsgrafiken ofta utgör ett avbrott i nyhetsinslagen istället för att komplettera dem och att det är svårt att få grafik och filmat material att skapa ett sammanhängande flöde. SVT söker därför efter alternativa sätt att utforma sina nyhetsinslag och sin informationsgrafik på, både för att förbättra informationsflödet i nyhetsinslagen och för att ta tillvara på de möjligheter till kreativa lösningar för informationsgrafik som dagens teknik erbjuder. Möjligheterna för vad man kan göra med grafik i tv är många, men forskning inom kognitions- och kommunikationsvetenskap visar att människor har begränsade kognitiva resurser för att hantera komplex audio-visuell och verbo-visuell information.
