This project practise methods used in the interaction design discipline to develop a concept related to the Swedish Guinness World Records Magazine. This project is a challenge to accommodate both the users? and client?s needs. We focus on interaction and the experience, which is acquired through the use itself, and how to connect it to a theme from a client. The aim of this project is to create a meeting place for children where they can interact with technology.

In a press release from the Swedish church it says that the pressure from people who are in need is increasing on the deacons in Sweden and that it?s getting higher each year. This study contains the search of knowledge about the deacons of the Swedish church, if they actually feel an increasing pressure and in what way, how they are handling the possible pressure from people in need, if that pressure is too high and if the deacons feel that they can assist the people seeking their help. The study also aim to provide more knowledge about the deacons experiences of the opportunities and boundaries (or obstacles) they meet in their line of work and how they handle the boundaries when/if they can?t provide the help that the people need.

The purpose of this study was to examine the media?s portrayal of young people that gamble with money. Young in this study refers to people in the age 13 to 30. The following questions were examined: How does the press, in this case three newspapers, portray young people who gamble with money? What discourses in the selected newspapers, regarding young people who gamble with money, are the most prominent?The method used in this study was Faircloughs three dimensional model for critical discourse analysis which was used together with a social constructionist point of view.

Background/aims: Extensive studies have found an association between parent - adolescent relationships and adolescents' alcohol use. However, only a few studies have been carried out in Sweden. Also, few studies have focused on 17-19 year olds or binge drinking. The aim of this study is to examine whether there is an association between perceived parent - youth relationship and binge drinking among 17-19 year olds in Stockholm, Sweden. Theory: Social Development Model is a risk-focused prevention strategy which emphasizes the importance of social units, such as the family.

Personlighetstest för karaktärsval i World of Warcraft

Det här arbetet behandlar frågan huruvida man kan använda etablerade studier av spelartyper och spelarbeteende av främst Bartle och Bateman, för att på ett praktiskt sätt hjälpa spelare att optimera sin spelupplevelse. Målet har varit att ta fram en metod för att hjälpa spelare att hitta den roll i onlinerollspelet World of Warcraft som passar spelarens spelartyp allra bäst och som denne har störst chans att uppskatta spelupplevelsen mest igenom.Detta har gjorts genom ett personlighetstest innehållande 21 frågor baserade på forskning av spelartyper och spelarbeteende. Utifrån testtagarens svar bedöms dennes spelartyp och den klass i World of Warcraft som bäst bedöms passa spelarens preferenser föreslås. Personlighetstestet har testats av en 15 personer stor testgrupp och resultaten visade på ett övervägande positivt mottagande och merparten var nöjda med den föreslagna klassen och tyckte spelartypsbeskrivningen passade dem.Utifrån resultaten av undersökningen dras slutsatser kring att det finns ett stort intresse för en personlighetstest av den typen, och att det har en stor potential att hjälpa både spelare att hitta sin roll i spelvärlden och för spelutvecklare att se vad som lockar i sin spelvärld och vilka spelartyper som de kanske bör satsa mer på att locka om de vill utvidga sin spelarbas..

When gender-related refugee claims was ratified in the Swedish asylum law the 31 of March this year (2006) it opened the door for women with this specific refugee status to receive asylum in Sweden. The aim of this thesis has been to investigate how these specific female refugees are represented and described in the asylum process. The focus has been the construction of identity concerning these women in the Officials discourse at the Immigration department. The theoretical framework has been a critical discourse analysis regarding the exercise of power and dominance connected to the construction of identity.An understanding of the women with gender-related refugee claims as the Others has been perceived through the Officials discourse. This essay constitutes an attempt to expose, with reference to contemporary animal research, the limits of Martin Heidegger?s concept of the being of animality in Die Grundbegriffe der Metaphysik (1929/30) and to propose some possible ways to think, within the philosophical style of this particular work, the being of those animals that most distinctly transcends Heidegger?s concept. The essay seeks to address the following question: Do the results of contemporary animal research expose ways of being within animality that withdrawal from Heidegger?s concept of the being of animality in general, and if so, how should we think these new ways of animal being? The motivation to ask this question, I argue, are immanent to Heidegger?s thinking in at least three ways: 1) Because of his standpoint that philosophy cannot, in any meaningful way, create an ontological concept of animality without an orientation towards the results of the positive sciences; 2) Because of the unfinished and tentative character of Heidegger?s analysis, a character that is such that it should be seen, according to Heidegger himself, as an essential point of departure for further thinking; 3) Because of Heidegger?s view that the being of the animal are such that it involves the withdrawal of this very being from any originary access, a withdrawal that necessitates an infinite return to the question concerning the being of the animal. The essay wants to be a continuation of lines that are present in Heidegger?s open-ended thought on this theme rather than to be an external critique that approach the text, which is most often the case, as a closed point of view which we are forced to affirm or reject.

The aim of this study is to examine views of picture books for children that reviewers in Swedish daily press express in their reviews in 2009 and 2010. The following questions were posed in the study: Are picture book reviews based on pedagogical criteria and/or aesthetic/literary criteria? Are picture books reviewed from an adult perspective and/or from a child perspective? Which elements of positive and negative criticism are to be found in picture book reviews? This qualitative study is based on 45 reviews of picture books in Swedish daily press. The theoretical approach is developed from four ways of looking at children literature that professor Maria Nikolajeva has compiled. The method used is idea analysis, which is a form of text-analysis.

När reklam och journalistik vävs samman : En studie om hur textreklam i svenska tjejtidningar har förändrats under ett decennium

Den här studien handlar om hur textreklam kommer till uttryck i svenska tjejtidningar och hur textreklam har förändrats under ett decennium. Vi har analyserat 25 nummer av tjejtidningarna Veckorevyn och Solo från år 2002 och 2012. Totalt har 953 texter analyserats.Genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys har vi undersökt hur mycket textreklam som finns i tjejtidningarna och genom en kvalitativ textanalys har vi analyserat på vilket sätt textreklamen kommer till uttryck och hur den har förändrats med utgångspunkt från Spelreglerna för press, radio och tv. För att få en djupare förståelse om textreklam har vi intervjuat textreklamexperten Håkan Lindhoff och Ulrica Widsell som är ordförande för Yrkesetiska nämnden och vice ordförande för Journalistförbundet.Resultatet visar att textreklam i dag inte går att mäta med hjälp av de riktlinjer som finns mot textreklam. Textreklamkommittén är avvecklad sedan 2005 och i dag är det upp till den ansvarige utgivaren att granska sin egen tidning.

Bolagstyrningsrapportens placering : vilka faktorer påverkar valet av placering?

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explain which factors that affects Swedish listed companies choice of placement for the corporate governance report when the regulation gives different options.Methodology: The chosen research philosophy is positive, research strategy is deductive and methodology is quantitative.Theoretical Perspectives: As support for the dependent (placement) and independent factors agency theory, positive accounting theory, accounting choice, legitimacy-, stakeholder-, and institutional theory are used.                  Empirical foundation:The sample consists of 249 companies. The empirical data consists of the companies Annual reports and Corporate Governance reports for financial year 2011 or when split financial year, 2010/2011. Limitations: A limitation of the study is that it is based on observations from only one year why it is not certain that the results should have been the same if a comparison between several years had been done.Conclusions: The factors size and growth explain the placement of the Corporate Governance Report in Swedish listed companies..

To value the risk and opportunity for our production in Sweden it is necessary to understand the marketing development for beef cattle production in the world. We have chosen to look at the Brazil beef cattle production. They are one of the biggest producers, have good opportunity to develop further and have a big affect at the world market. The method of our work is to gather information from experts of beef cattle production, located in Brazil. We have also gathered information through studies of literature. The factors that will have a big influence at the Brazil beef cattle production during the upcoming years is more efficient land use, lower age of slaughtering and extended use of feedlot-system. Our conclusion is that the Brazil beef cattle will have a sharp increase during the next five years. The amount of pasture will not change during that time.

Folkbibliotekarier om omvärldsbevakning - Intervjustudie med 5 svenska folkbibliotekarier

The purpose of the study is to reach knowledge about how public librarians understands and describes environmental scanning as a working process in a Swedish public library. The study consists of 5 interviews with public librarians working within the same organization. The empirical material is presented in two ways. The first one is what aspects of the external world the librarians find important. The second is through a theoretical framework based on Magnus Hoppes model of environmental scanning, including communication and cognitive processes aswell as ways of analyzing information from the external world.
