During later years coaching has gained popularity. Coaching offers help to learn rather than to teach and enables optimal performance. The method that builds consciousness, strengthens choices and leads to change in the wanted direction, can deduce to some of history's most successful educationalists. A coaching area steadily increasing is business- and executive coaching. The overall purpose with this paper is to explain what coaching is generally speaking, with specific focus on business- and executive coaching.

Social work is a social phenomenon, existing in most societies, that has given rise to a multitude of special organizations and professions. For that reason social work is dealing with a complex identity. The purpose of this study is to illustrate how social workers and the scientific discourse interpret the concept of social work. In addition to that the study intends to show similarities and differencies. The research process containes two studies, one based on qualitative interviews with five social workers and the other consisting a surway of academic litterature.

In this thesis I investigate aesthetic preference for picture books among children aged 3?6 as well as criteria for preference among parents. Through my design project: illustration of a picture book, I aim to put my research on preference in the context of illustration and design. By using the design project as an applied method for research I have sought to answer how one as an illustrator can apply knowledge regarding preferences of the target groups when illustrating for picture books. I have primarily based my research within the field of cognitive developmental psychology, with primary focus on stage theory, and the field of literature.

Undersökningen har vidare sökt svara på huruvida verbala emotionella uttryck har någon effekt för emotion och minneslagring. Deltagarna har lyssnat till- och läst berättelser och därefter skattat sin egen grad av emotionell beröring. Deltagarna har också svarat på detaljfrågor efter varje berättelse i syfte att studera och möjligen bekräfta sambandet mellan emotioner och minneslagring. Antal deltagare (N=50) var fördelat på 15 män i åldern 27-67 (M=43.5) och 35 kvinnor i åldern 17-57 (M=38.0).

The study examines the meaning of having a dog in the workplace of personnel who work with therapy. The purpose was to examine the personnel?s view of dogs in their work envi-ronment. The study uses two theories. One is ?psychosocial work environment? and the other theory used is ?symbolic interactionism?.

Denna studie undersökte den egalitära normens inverkan på vita personers korrigering av sina fördomar, mot den egna etniska gruppen samt andra etniska grupper. Korrigeringen studerades genom manipulation, då deltagarna dels uppmanades att fokusera på en in- eller utgrupp samt tänka på hur stereotyper påverkar våra bedömningar av andra människor. I undersökningen deltog 108 vita män och kvinnor. Deltagarna tilldelades en enkät med två fördomstester, där deltagarna fick se foton av personer med olika kön och etnicitet, för att sedan skatta deras personlighetsegenskaper. Hypoteserna att vita personer värderar den vita ingruppen lägre och andra etniska utgrupper högre, när de påminns om egalitetsnormen, kunde inte bekräftas i denna studie.

The definition of procrastination can be described as a behavior with deliberate postponement of tasks or commitments despite expected negative consequences for the individual and his or her environment. This study examined how widespread this behavior is among students in higher education in Sweden. Using a web-based survey, data was collected for analysis. A statistical program, SPSS, was used for evaluation of the collected data. The purpose of this study was to examine whether there are differences in the degree of procrastination between students located on campus versus students who do their education at distance.

Föreliggande studie syftade till att undersöka hur, ungdomar diagnostiserade med Asperger syndrom, ser på sina liv i relation till diagnosen, och möjliga konsekvenser av diagnostiseringen. I detta syfte genomfördes öppna djupintervjuer med sex individer boende i Skåne, samtliga i åldern 16 - 34 år.Diagnosens påverkan varierade från individ till individ. Två intervjupersoner hade mer eller mindre identifierat sig med diagnosen och upplevde att diagnosen förbättrat deras livssituation. Två intervjupersoner ifrågasatte sin diagnos, och uppgav att diagnosen inte förbättrat deras liv och, för en av de båda, dessutom försämrat livet, i form av kraftigare missbruk och ökat självskadebeteende. De två övriga intervjupersonerna undvek att tala om diagnosens inverkan på deras liv, och höll sig främst neutrala till diagnosen under intervjun..

Denna kvalitativa studie undersöker vilken funktion det anorektiska beteendet fyller och huruvida det finns en koppling till hantering av adolescensens utvecklingsuppgifter. Sju semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med kvinnor från en icke-klinisk population som hade haft en ätstörning i tonåren. Studien visar att ätstörningen används för att hantera känslor, få en känsla av självkontroll, identitet, trygghet och självförtroende, kommunicera att man inte mår bra, få uppmärksamhet, skapa gränser samt frigöra sig eller undvika att frigöra sig från föräldrarna. Resultatet pekar på att flera av dessa sjukdomsvinster kan användas för att hantera adolescensens utvecklingsuppgifter. I studien ingår även en screeningundersökning bland universitetsstuderande (n= 406), som fann en prevalens på 6.5 % hos kvinnor respektive 2.8 % hos män för anorexia nervosa i tonåren..

The purpose of this thesis is to study how preschool teachers can reach the goal of the swedish educational plan to prevent traditional gender roles for children ages 3-6 through drama in education.This is answered by four hypothesis based on Judith Butler's queer theory, George Herbert Mead's social psychological theory and Gavin Bolton and Dotothy Heathcotes drama pedagogical theories. The hypotheses are tested against four teachers' examples of their work.The hypotheses areHypothesis 1: By using the expert's mantle and active observation in teacher-in-role indrama educational exercises, we can see how the children internalize the heterosexualmatrix and the outline of the internalized other.Hypothesis 2: By using the "mistakes" that occur when children repeat performativeacts that do not fit with the heterosexual matrix, these other possible behaviors can bestrengthenedHypothesis 3: Through drama exercises that are not normative teachers can widen theheterosexual matrixHypothesis 4: Through drama pedagogical methods like teacher-in-role teachers canprovide possibilities of other performative acts and the creation of a more tolerantinternalized other.The analysis show that the respondents work within all these hypotheses in different ways and thathypotheses 2 is the one with the weakest support in the interwievs. The examples are also weakregarding the use of Boltons drama pedagogical methods, but that there are a number of othermethods in use.Some of the conclusions are that more theoretical knowledge in the preschool drama pedagogics tocounteract traditional gender roles and patterns, as well as the drama of educational theory need tobe linked to queer and social psychology research. This thesis work aims to describe the prerequisites for a distributed treatment platform for real-time sharing of rounds performed by paediatric oncologists. The work started during the autumn 2004 and is directly aimed at improving the situation for the thirty or so specialist treating children with cancer. The work is not limited to the description of such a platform but also to select suitable software and hardware for the implementation of the platform and further more to coordinate the implementation. The production of several documents describing the platform is also part of this work. The work successfully led to the implementation of such a platform as described in the published article Barnradioterapi på distans Kristenssen et.

In this multistudy the aim was to measure the effect of mindfulness and yoga in negative stress. Is it possible for yoga and mindfulness to increase awareness and acceptance to inner and outher circumstances? Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) has shown good results in how to cope with negative stress and how to stay calm in a stressful envirorment. The qualitative study where Visby Yoga Center and Stockholm Yoga Shakti attended in a survey. Correlation showed no relationship between stress and mindfulness and no significant value, n=20, Cohens d=0,16.

This paper interprets the myth of the hymen through the archetypal theory of Carl Gustav Jung. Today it has been proven that there exists no hymen that breaks at a woman?s first intercourse. Nonetheless, the myth of the hymen lives on ? creating enormous consequences for girls and women.
