The aim of this study is to examine the collection One Thousand and One Nights (also: The Arabian Nights) from a european perspective, by comparing different european translations. The study focuses on three translations into Swedish from different periods of time and how the tales have changed in the translation process - depending on the prevailing line of approach and Western perceptions of Eastern standards. The thesis of the study is that Eastern culture, from a Western perspective, has been seen as exotic and different but not as a high literary culture and that this view has affected the translations into european languages. The study shows, among other things, that Western culture is many times considered normative in the translations and that the translators often give their own voices a prominent role, also that common Western notions of the East affects the translations.The word ?orientalism? is used frequently in the study and it refers primarily to the image of the Orient as it is described in Edward Saids' book Orientalism: as a Western construction whose main purpose is to strengthen its own conception of the Orient and thereby strengthen the Western identity as better than the Orient.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka vilka moderna tendenser som påverkat kristendomsavsnitten i olika läromedel. Jag har valt att göra en kvalitativ läromedelsanalys där jag studerat olika teman. Avsikten har varit att sätta min kunskapsbakgrund i relation till mitt resultat samt att undersöka i vilken utsträckning läromedelsförfattarna tagit till sig intentionerna i läroplaner och kursplaner. Jag kan utifrån min undersökning se att de moderna tendenserna har fått en stor inverkan på kristendomsavsnitten, framförallt tendensen till ökad valmöjlighet ? allt från livsstil till moraliska ställningstaganden ? i kombination med en ökad frihet för individen.

The purpose of this C-essay within the subject of religion is to form a notion as to how the attitudes towards women and their position in a theoretical biblical society might have been perceived, based upon a select number of texts from the first five books of the Bible (the Pentateuch).Since this essay was written under the framework of the teacher education programme, it is also integrated with the pedagogy subject. This manifests itself with the didactic reflection at the end of this essay, where I try to relate the subject of this essay to the teaching profession.The material, which consists of excerpts from the first and second chapters of Genesis, and aselection of the laws in the first five books of the Bible (from Genesis to Deuteronomy), wasanalysed according to an ideological model, where themes and patterns have been more important than specific word choices.The analysis showed that the views on women vary depending on who writes and who interprets a specific text extract, and the conclusion was that since laws reflect the society it is likely that they were created to improve women's status to make it as equal to the man's as possible.The didactic reflection offers suggestions for lesson plans on the themes gender, feminism andfeministic theology..

Syftet med studien har varit att ur ett förskollärarperspektiv tydliggöra verksamma förskollärares önskningar och förväntningar på samarbetet med specialpedagogen samt att jämföra dessa med specialpedagogens uppdrag. Detta har jag närmat mig genom att göra kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer som sedan har tolkats utifrån ett hermeneutiskt förhållningssätt. Anledningen till varför jag valde att göra en studie om detta beror på att jag anser att specialpedagogen borde bli en större del i förskoleverksamheten och att skollagens och läroplanens intentioner inte förverkligas om specialpedagogen inte deltar i verksamheten. Utifrån olika perspektiv på specialpedagogik har jag försökt förstå vilket stöd förskollärarna önskar från specialpedagogen i arbetet med barn i behov av särskilt stöd. Resultatet visar att förskollärarna har det kritiska perspektivet på specialpedagogik.

This study views literary authors as brands and their books as products. The essay examines if different marketing activities will influence attitudes and intentions towards these brands, depending on how famous the author is and how much knowledge the consumer possess about the product category. The theory, which the hypotheses are based upon, mainly consists of research about culture, brands, attitudes and intentions. The study is quantitative and has an experimental design consisting of different written scenarios. These scenarios are based on background information about a fictive fiction author and type of marketing campaign.

Tanken bakom detta arbete var våra funderingar över hur demokratins grundläggande värden kommer till uttryck i praktisk vardaglig handling i skolans värld. Dessa värden består av människors åsikter, aktning och respekt för andra samt förmåga att ta ansvar för sig själv och andra. Ett sätt för skolan att aktiv och medvetet påverka och stimulera eleverna i demokratiska värden är att låta dem få ett reellt inflytande för verksamheten i skolan. Med dessa grundtankar ville vi undersöka hur väl de demokratiska värdena är förankrade hos eleverna i årskurs 4-6. Vi valde att påbörja vår undersökning med enkäter för att få ett begrepp om var eleverna stod inom detta område. Utifrån våra enkätsvar sammanställde vi intervjufrågor för att kunna få en djupare insikt i elevernas tankar och synpunkter.

A foundation of our welfare state is that we have a social safety net. This safety net is designed to pick up individuals who are in need of help and support to manage their way of life. This essay regards people who need help with care or people who need help with an addiction. This essay is a qualitative text analysis, which aims to see whether, and if so how, help-seekers are constructed in 40 social service documents within a municipality in central Sweden. We have endeavored to illustrate the power that the written word possesses and which categories of people are constructed depending on the language and content of the social documents.

Detta examensarbete handlar i allt väsentlig om attityder och strukturer i undervisningen på gymnasiets yrkesförberedande linjer med speciell fokusering på Hotell- & Restaurang- programmet. Framför allt har tonvikten i undersökningen lagts på yrkeslärarnas attityder till arbetet med matriser och olika bedömningar utifrån dessa, speciellt i relation till den nu gällande läroplanen Gy 2000 och den förestående läroplanen Gy 2011, under förutsättning av att den sistnämnda kommer att godkännas av Riksdag och Regering.Undersökningen genomfördes i enkätform med diverse frågor till 15 yrkeslärare, alla aktiva inom gymnasiets Hotell- och Restaurang ? program. Så gott som samtliga yrkeslärare hade lång erfarenhet som kock och kocklärare och de representerade 5 olika gymnasier. Det blev inget externt eller internt bortfall under undersökningens gång.Skolverket gav år 2000 ut ett Hotell- och Restaurangprogram med programmål, kursplaner, betygskriterier och rekommendationer (HR 2000:09). Ett av undersökningens syfte var att medels enkäten ta reda på om nämnde program idag används enligt Skolverkets intentioner. Ett annat om programmet är så utformad att det är lätt att förstå och använda och ett tredje om det finns en obligatorisk kurslitteratur att luta sig emot och om det finns behov för det.

Denna undersöknings syfte är att ta reda på hur musik/rytmik används i förskolan och hurpedagogernas förhållningssätt till musik präglar verksamheten. Jag vill även undersöka hur olikaarbetssätt används för att främja barns såväl musikaliska som språkliga utveckling utifrån enmusikpedagogiskt perspektiv. Här belyses språkets och musikens gemensamma rötter. Detteoretiska ramverket i undersökningen innefattas av musikens grundläggande betydelse förmänniskans utveckling och olika forskares syn på musik och deras värderingar utifrån deras skildametoder och synsätt. Undersökningen grundar sig i olika pedagogers förhållande till musik iförskolan med hänsyn till pedagogernas bakgrund och relation till musik.

The aim of the present study was to examine smoking behaviour and motivation for smoking cessation in patients at a dental clinic. Another aim was to examine if the patients had been asked by the dental staff regarding their smoking habits.Twenty-two patients from a student clinic and twenty-one patients from a Swedish Public Dental Service Clinic in southern of Sweden participated in the study. Participants consisted of eighteen women and twenty-five men. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire that was directed at smokers. The questionnaire was answered in connection with the visit to the dental hygienist.The patients smoked between eight and twelve cigarettes per day and had on average smoked between 5 -15 years.

Syftet med undersökningen är att se vilka kunskapssyner två aktuella läromedel förmedlar. Uppsatsen utgår från en kvalitativ undersökning där två olika läromedel i svenska för grundskolans senare år granskats och jämförts. Undersökningen visar att båda läromedlen bygger på en funktionalistisk språksyn, där språk och innehåll i sin praktiska användning utgör en helhet. Läromedlen skildrar också en kunskapssyn som bygger på att kunskap ska byggas utifrån elevernas tankar och reflektioner i dialogiska samspel och i funktionella sammanhang. Elever måste utgå från sin egen erfarenhetsvärld för att kunna tillgodogöra sig kunskapen och båda läromedlen betonar vikten av processen i skrivarbetet.

Detta arbete utgör en första del av ett forskningsprojekt vars intentioner är att synliggöra och öka kunskapen om SFI (svenska för invandrare) och SVA (svenska som andraspråk). Studien är kopplad till min egen arbetsplats. Intentionen med detta projekt är att beskriva och analysera både process och innehåll i en gemensam kunskapsutveckling i en forskningscirkel.Projektet fokuserar i första hand på kulturmöten, livsåskådning och livsfrågeperspektiv samt olika livssituationer. Dessa betraktas huvudsakligen utifrån de medverkande lärarnas perspektiv. Detta medför att invandrarelevernas uppfattning och upplevelser i berörda aspekter inte berörs direkt i detta projekt.
