New forms of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have become more influential in development contexts. The concept of ?The Digital Divide? points at a large division between rich and poor countries regarding access to ICTs. Critics say that the debate concerning this topic for far too long has focused mainly on the technology itself rather than social factors which impact social inclusion and development. Scholars agree that ICTs holds a tremendous potential, but how is this implemented in development contexts and how can it be used with more sensitivity towards local preconditions and social aspects? This paper aims to examine how ICTs are being used in the context of development within an India based organisation for women called SEWA (Self Employed Women?s Association).

As the majority of perpetrators being male, this is a problem concerning women?s rights to respect for their bodies and personal integrity. Or?ttvist flexibelt? En studie om hybridarbetets betydelse f?r r?ttvisa och v?lm?ende inom en organisation

The purpose of this study is to explore how hybrid work affects the experience of organizational justice and psychological well-being within an organization where working conditions differ between professional groups. Using a combination of semi-structured interviews and a quantitative survey, the study offers a nuanced understanding of how various work arrangements are perceived and interpreted by employees. The findings show that justice is not primarily about having equal conditions, but rather about how these conditions are understood and communicated within the organization. Many employees accept differences in work arrangements when they are perceived as logically justified and clearly communicated. However, when these differences lack explanation or are associated with injustices, frustration can arise even if employees understand the reasons behind them.

This essay focuses on the gender discourse of the Syrian Brotherhood?s leadership, according to its policy-documents, from 2004 ? 2013.

The material consists of interviews with eight women from the ages 51to 81, all of whom are either in menopause or have come out of it, and narratives collectedpartly on my own website ?Övergången? (?Transition?) and on the Internet via blogs and adiscussion board on menopause.Using Goffmans theories on interaction and roles and theories about gender and age as asocial construction I discovered that it is ambiguous messages that are thrown at the middleaged woman in menopause. Menopause is not always a welcome part of the role as a woman. The menopause is also associated with aging and a woman is expected to experiencemenopause during a certain age and period in the life schedule, often the middle age.

Från främling till tvetydig svensk : En kvalitativ undersökning av namnbyte från utländskt klingande namn till svenskklingande namn

The essay, based on interviews with eight people, deals with name changes from a foreign-sounding name to Swedish-sounding name. The aim is to investigate the reasons behind the name change and whether experiences of ethnic discrimination were among these reasons. Furthermore, I explore the consequences of the name change, and whether the name change was an effective strategy to avoid ethnic discrimination. The study employs qualitative method; I carry out eight interviews with four women and four men, and analyze the empirical material by means of post-colonial theory in which categorizing, otherness and passing are significant terms. The results show that the name change takes place primarily to reduce a sense of otherness, and the discursively locked positions a foreign-sounding name creates.

Indexeringens dilemma. En analys av förutsättningarna för ämnesindexering av skönlitteratur i förhållandet mellan indexeringen och dess objekt.

This thesis analyses the conditions for subject indexing of fiction by studying the relationship between the nature of fiction and the properties of subject indexing. The analysis is founded on a reading of a recently published Swedish subject headings list and uses a theoretical framework of Adornos theory of modern reason. The study is conducted through a qualitative text analysis in three steps. In the first step the subject headings list is analysed by examining how it provides subject access to fiction by the aspects of form, frame and subject. In the second step of the analysis these aspects of subject access are analysed and discussed by relating them to relevant research of subject indexing of fiction.
