The purpose of this study was to investigate how directors of preschool apply the mandatory reporting and what information they say is important in the decision to report child maltreat-ment. The study was built on five semi-structure interviews with five directors of preschool working in Greater Stockholm. The perspective of this paper is sociology of law theory. This means to study how out of law information makes sense when director of preschool applies the mandatory reporting. The result was analysed with three different analytic tools: action plan, consulting social services and the considerations of the directors of preschool them-selves.

Det här arbetet har främst koncentrerat sig på att utveckla kunskapen om vad det vidgade textbegreppet innebär samt att undersöka begreppets innebörd i kursplaner och läromedel för Engelska A. Därtill har det syftat till att belysa hur det vidgade textbegreppet förhåller sig till en kommunikativ språksyn. För att komma ifrån de problem som begreppet ?ett vidgat textbegrepp? skapar har här använts ett nytt uttryck, ?kommunikativa uttryck? eftersom det på ett bra sätt fångar upp det man vill uppnå med det vidgade textbegreppet. Metoden som har använts för detta har varit att jämföra de tre första kapitlen i vart och ett av läromedlen, Straight Forward English 5(Harling et al, 2006), Blueprint A version 2.0(Lundfall et al, 2008) samt Core English 1 (Gustafsson et al, 2008). Materialet har jämförts ur två aspekter; dels vilka typer av kommunikationsuttryck som förekommer i texterna, dels vilka instruktioner som har återfunnits i läromedlen och lärarhandledningarna för att bearbeta de olika kommunikationsuttrycken. Arbetet har kommit fram till två viktiga slutsatser. Den första slutsatsen är att många olika kommunikationsuttryck finns representerade i de tre första kapitlen i läromedlen Straight Forward English 5 (Harling et al, 2006), Blueprint A version 2.0 (Lundfall et al, 2008) och Core English 1(Gustafsson et al, 2008). Dock är de övningar som finns med för att bearbeta dessa kommunikationsuttryck i första hand där för att fördjupa elevernas förståelse av texterna.

Datorstött samarbete (Computer Supported Co-operative Work) är ett växande område idag, både bland användare och inom forskningen. Det omfattar tekniskt stöd för människor som samarbetar i grupper för att uppnå fastställda mål. Mitt arbete har omfattat en undersökning på Institutionen för datavetenskap vid Högskolan i Skövde. Syftet med undersökningen har varit att fastställa användares åsikter om vilka förväntningar, risker och framtidsutsikter som de tror att området datorstött samarbete innebär. Arbetet har genomförts dels via en enkätundersökning och dels via en intervjuundersökning.Användare kan ha teoretisk och/eller praktisk kunskap i ämnet datorstött samarbete, där kunskaper i det ena inte garanterar kunskaper i det andra.

Children that are taken care of for institutional care by the social services are unprivileged as a group. When society takes over the parenting role, it forces local governments and other accountable authorities to guarantee these children satisfactory support and good care according to each child's needs. The aim of this thesis is to analyze and discuss problems with implementation in policy processes when authorities incorporate. From the normative standpoint of legal security and the United Nations Children's Convention, this thesis investigates the consequences of interaction between two Swedish supervisory authorities for the social services: Socialstyrelsen and länsstyrelserna. To fulfill the aim I will investigate the approach taken by the authorities and the work division between Socialstyrelsen and länsstyrelserna.

The essay concerns corporation?s usage and consumer?s attitude towards the phenomenon Big Data. The aim is to analyse whether corporation-management and future ambitions concerning consumer data coincide with attitudes and opinions of today's consumer, and how these opinions reflect consumer behaviour online. The essay is limited to focus on how companies use consumer data in order to better understand and improve the efficiency of their marketing. A self-composed analyse-model was created using previous studies concerning Internet-usage in Sweden, previous management analysis of corporations use of Big Data combined with theory of Cognitive Dissonance. A questionnaire was then created with the analyse model as foundation.

SCA är Europas största skogsindustrikoncern. Fem bruk är lokaliserade i norra Sverige medan marknaderna för dessa bruks produkter är i Skandinavien samt övriga Europa. För att kunna konkurrera med de europeiska bruken är det mycket viktigt med en effektiv och pålitlig distribution. Då orderstorlekarna blivit mindre, lastning av arkat papper sker på pall samt att krav på regularitet och kortare ledtider ökat ansågs det gamla distributionssystemet vara förlegat. Ett helt nytt distributionssystem utarbetades i samarbete med MoDo.

The purpose of this legal dogmatic Bachelor Thesis is to define the legal definition of ?a rescue service? and illustrate the division of responsibilities between national authorities and the municipalities with regards to the execution of emergency response operations.?A rescue service? means the emergency response actions that national and municipal authorities are legally obliged to provide to prevent or minimise injury to people and damage to property or the environment when emergencies occur or seem imminent. The purpose of this study is to examine the accessibility with public transportation in the case of the Umeå Region in northern Sweden. This is done by GIS network analysis where both access to transit stops, as well as access by public transport from stops to destinations is examined. An accessibility index is created from transit frequency and travel times to destinations. The results is compared with population register data to calculate what shares of the population has which levels of accessibility with public transportation. In the Umeå Region there are different levels of accessibility by public transport for different parts of the region, where transit stops in the most densely populated areas has the highest levels of accessibility, as well as stations along the railroads.

Bakgrund och problem: Under hösten 2008 bröt den nu rådande finanskrisen ut världenöver. Redovisningsprofessionen anser att bristande transparens i redovisningen avkreditinstituts skuldsättning är en av orsakerna till krisens omfattning. Fluktuationerna iflertalet marknadsräntor har väckt frågan om turbulensen avspeglas i redovisningen, dåmarknadsräntor ligger till grund för vissa redovisningsval. I denna studie undersöks hurräntevolatiliteten i de svenska statobligationerna påverkat valet av diskonteringsränta, samtvilka eventuella egenskaper hos företag som kan inverka på detta val.Syfte: Syftet med denna undersökning är, (1) att förstå om ränteturbulensen hösten 2008 haftstor påverkan på företagens val av diskonteringsränta i årsredovisningen samt (2) attidentifiera karakteristika, vilka kan påverka valet av diskonteringsränta.Avgränsningar: Studien är avgränsad till att undersöka svenska börsnoterade företags val avdiskonteringsränta för förmånsbestämda pensionsplaner år 2008. It is a qualitative study that describes and analyzes how professionals deal with social issues of inclusiveness and ethics in the investigation of cases involving interventions for adolescents. The focus is on the strategies that staff in social services expressed in terms of obstacles and opportunities for working participatively and especially when it comes to dealing with ethical dilemmas that may arise.    The method used was qualitative research interviews. Five social workers from two different municipalities were interviewed and the material is analyzed on the basis of socio-cultural theory and organizational theory. Themes that emerged were participation, ethics, discretion and flexibility, collaboration, organization, skills and time. The main obstacles that have emerged in the study are that those who work in social services have had been difficulties to fully create participation due to various factors.

The purpose of the study is to examine and analyze the relation between the existence of global companies and given support to immigrant- owned companies with large cultural difference from public services. This helps answering the question "Which affect does the existence of local dominating companies have on the establishment of small companies owned by immigrants with large cultural differences?" This has been accomplished through a field study containing twelve interviews with small companies in two different cities and two interviews with the community officials in each city. The research was thereby narrowed to only treat the two cities in Sweden in order to examine the relation between public services support to small immigrant-owned companies and how the immigrants experience the support from them. The analyze was made due to a handful of theories such as the The network theory IP model, Hofstede's 4+1 model and the Product Life Cycle.

The purpose of this essay has been to describe and compare the personal qualities that the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter (DN) tried to associate Barack Obama and John McCain with during the American presidential election campaign 2008. The main question to be answered is: What social and physical characters as well as what personal experiences, interest and resources did DN tried to emphasize regarding John McCain and Barack Obama during the American presidential election campaign 2008. The theoretical starting-point has been John B Thompson?s theory of the mediated publicity and John Corner´s theory of political persona and spheres of action. Various DN news texts, in all 38 articles, have been examined by content analysis from 25th of august to the 4th of November.

The aim of the following paper has been to test the democratic peace theory through applying it on the conflict between Russia and Georgia in 2008.  This to either falsify the theory or come to the conclusion that the states? democracy was not satisfactory in regards to the definition of liberal democracy. The questions asked are: Was Russia and Georgia democratic states? Is democracy a protection from war? And which aspects of the liberal democratic theory, if any, were not satisfactory in either of the countries? The results show that the democratic peace theory is valid in this case and that neither one of the states were democratic.

In this investigation has an attempt to find out whether so called transplanting shock depends on the moving and transplanting of trees, to other conditions, or if it is due to the imbalance between the root to shoot ratio. Seventy trees of Prunus avium have been part of the investigation and these trees have been divided into four different groups depending on methods of production, untouched on the field, trees still on the field but with root pruning, trees moved and planted into Root-Control-Bag, trees moved and planted into Spring-rings. To be able to answer the question, measurements of the length of the terminal shoots and the lateral shoots and the dimension of the stem growth have been done and also has a visual judgment of the trees vitality been performed. The result shows that it is not only the move of the trees that gives them transplanting shock, but rather the loss of roots which gives an imbalance between the root and crown..
