The purpose of this thesis is to study how some librarians working at a public library experience problems that can occur at the reference interview, slightly focusing on communication difficulties. Therefore I interviewed three librarians working at the reference desk on a daily basis. I chose to limit the study to public libraries and to the south of Sweden. My main question is: what difficulties can a librarian encounter during a reference interview and what can he/she do to treat these? In support of my main question I have three subordinated questions:What reasons can there be to a librarian not understanding a user?s information need?What methods are useful for a librarian to enhance the condition of the reference interview? What attitudes and qualities can be of use for the librarian at a difficult reference interview?For the collection of empirical data I chose to use semi-structured interviews.

The aim of this study was to investigate and describe conceptions that been used when people talks about grapples and to put together parameters that the customers sees as important when they chose a grapple from Hultdins. Every year Hultdins manufacturer and sells about 3500 grapples around the world. With so many users its difficult to oblige everyone. To get an apprehension of what kind of grapple the operators wanted a formula with 18 questions was made. For the interviews 20 forestmachineoperators were choicest who had experience from Hultdins grapples, a lot of them also had experience from other grappleproducers and constructions. The study showed that it is the durability the users give priority to.

Detta arbete bygger på ett inventeringsarbete på LKF:s (Lund Kommunala Fastighets AB) bostadsgårdar. Arbetet syftar till att utvärdera och analysera det vedartade växtmaterialet som tidigare inventerats. Santamour (1990) har beskrivit en metod kallad ?10-20-30 formula? som används för att utvärdera hur hållbart ett växtsystem är i den urbana miljön. Systemet studerar växtpatologiska och andra biologiska faktorers påverkan på växtsystemets stabilitet.

This project details the process of converting and transferring a turn-based paper prototype to a digital real-time format. The projects goals were to see how well the original feeling could be transferred to real-time and how the transition itself went. The project have been completed with the help of the programmer Mikael Gullberg. The practical part of the project was executed between the dates of 25/4 ? 2/5.

Composers? and choreographers? world of ideas. Aspects of the art process. This inquiry is about the artistic process when composing contemporary music and choreographing modern dance. I have studied three composers? and three choreographers? thoughts about the artistic process and the work that leads to a piece of music or a dance.

Syftet med denna studie var att synliggöra förskollärares tankar om vardagsmatematiken. Studien skulle även innefatta hur förskollärare tar tillvara på den vardagliga matematiken. Vår metod i studien gick ut på att intervjua förskollärare genom en self report, som tillhör den kvalitativa forskningen. Vår self report innebar att de tillfrågade förskollärarna skriftligt fick redogöra sina tankar och erfarenheter utifrån frågeformuläret. Med hjälp av vår self reports öppna frågor synliggjordes förskollärares djupgående tankar om ett visst fenomen, vilket leder in vår studie till en fenomenografisk forskningsansats.

Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka metoder för modellering och realtidssimulering av fordonskomponenterna koppling och däck. Avsikten skulle sedan vara att implementera utvalda modeller i simulink för användning tillsammans med en befintlig fordonssimulator. Arbetet innehåller en litteraturstudie som ger fysikalisk förståelse för fordonskomponenterna samt vägledning vid valet av modelleringsmetod.Utmaningen med kopplingen var att modellera övergången mellan låst ochslirande tillstånd. Efter utvärdering av olika metoder valdes en metod som använder samma systemstruktur för båda fallen, dvs ett system med två frihetsgrader.Däcksmodellen valdes med hänsynen att ett trovärdigt beteende skulle uppnås utan att kräva för mycket beräkningskraft. En metod byggd på fysikaliska resonemang är svår att få verklighetstrogen med begränsad komplexitet.

Döende patienter som vårdas på sjukhus har ibland minderåriga barn. Dessa barn är i stort behov av stöd vilket sjuksköterskan har som uppgift att tillgodose. I nuläget brister detta då många sjuksköterskor saknar kunskaper inom området. För att stödja barn till en döende förälder på ett optimalt sätt krävs kunskap om barns förståelse av döden, reaktioner på förlust av en förälder samt hur sjuksköterskan kan kommunicera med barn och föräldrar. En litteraturstudie har genomförts i syfte att belysa sjuksköterskans stöd till barn som anhöriga när en förälder är döende.

Inledning: Bröstmjölk är den bästa näringskällan för spädbarn. Alla friska mödrar rekommenderas att exklusivt amma sina barn upp till sex månaders ålder samt därefter fortsätta amma och ge annat födotillägg upp till två års ålder eller längre. Flertalet faktorer kan dock påverka beslutet om att välja att amma eller inte.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att undersökta iranska invandrarkvinnors uppfattningar och bruk angående amning och bröstmjölksersättning.Metod: En kvalitativ studie med strategiskt urval genomfördes där tio iranska invandrarkvinnor intervjuades. Intervjuerna bestod av tolv frågor och spelades in och sedan transkriberades. Innehållsanalys användes.Resultat: Resultaten delades in i fem kategorier: ?Hälso- sjukvårdskontakt i Sverige och i Iran?, ?Typ av föda som givits barnet?, ?Information och råd angående amning och bröstmjölksersättning?, ?Faktorer som påverkar valet att amma? samt ?Slutgiltig uppfattning angående valet att amma?.

The report contains three parts. The first part is a summary and overall presentation of thermalcracks and preventing measures against such cracks. In the 1940s, 50s and 60s the two youth movements of the beats and the hippies emerged in the United States. Disagreeing with the progressive positivism of the previous generations these youths were part of a counter culture that adhered to an ideal of living in the present.Alan Wilson Watts (1915?1973), most known for his popularization of eastern philosophy and religion in general and Zen-Buddhism in particular, became one of the most influential and well-read advocates of the new movements. Drawing upon eastern philosophy and religion as well as modern psychology, Watts challenged the western world view by rejecting the dualism of self and environment, arguing that man is one with God and nature and claiming that nothing exists but the present experience here and now.Based on Watts? view of man and reality, and in the context of the emerging youth movements, this study examines Watts? criticism of western culture and society as well as his view on happiness and the possibility of a better life for the individual living in the west.The study shows that, according to Watts, the root of the problem facing western society lies in man?s incapability of distinguishing concept from reality, preferring abstract ideas and symbols to the experience present in everyday life.

This is a thesis project in the field of information technology which begins by evaluating existing food price comparison systems and subsequently aims to design an improved, web based system for said purpose. The system features interfaces for price reporting, price comparisons as well as various search and review functions. The objective is to create a system able to compete with existing price comparison systems, which requires careful selection of products that can be found in all foodstores that also represent different households; a user-friendly price reporting and price comparison interface and an efficient tool for ensuring the validity of reported prices.The designed system features a more accurate formula for calculating average prices in events where the real price is missing; a more reliable security mechanism forv alidation of reported prices and a more comprehensible interface for viewing price reports, reporting prices, reviewing stores and products in comparison with existing systems. The system does, however, suffer from some optimization issues primarily in the form of inefficient database modeling; SQL queries and JavaScript code although testing has shown that these shortcomings do not hamper overall performance to such a degree that usability is compromised. Further usability testing performed on the system with five test subjects shows that a high level of overall user-friendliness has been achieved even though some special features, such as the detailed report containing price information per product for each store need to be improved.It is not possible to say at this time whether or not the designed system will be able to compete with existing ones or if the very concept of food price comparisons per se is viable in terms of profitability and marketability.

The aim of this two years master?s thesis in library and information science is to study how children and librarians recommend books through the website Barnens bibliotek. In the scope of this aim it also tries to answer the following questions: What qualities in books do children and librarians respectively emphasize when they write book recommendations? How do they formulate the recommendations? And finally, how do their respective recommendations differ?To examine these aspects a total of 50 book recommendations were chosen and analysed through an hermeneutic approach. Out of these 50, 30 were written by children and 20 were written by librarians.

The thesis will discuss the interpretations of the two requisites; Control and improper means in the paragraph concerning trafficking in human beings, who can be find in the Swedish penal code chapter 4, section. 1 a. This paragraph is worded in a way that indicates that the paragraph is misinterpreted and that it is therefore hard to proof that the present requisites have been used or fulfilled. However, Sweden has by accepting international legal framework committed itself to do anything in its power to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons. The interpretation of the paragraph has shown that the difficulties have mainly depended of its indistinct formula.A new review published in April 2008 shows that the paragraph should be afforded a new wording, and therefore contain new requisites.

Bakgrund: Acceptance & Comittment Therapy (ACT) används i de flesta smärtkliniker i Sverige. Trots att ACT har bra evidens, är det oklart vilka behandlingsprotokoll som används. Syfte: Syftet var att undersöka hur ACT implementeras kliniskt för personer med långvarig smärta. Metod: En databassökning genomfördes med sökorden: "acceptance and commitment therapy" AND "chronic pain" OR "persistent pain" i : Portal proquest, CINAHL, PubMED och Scopus. De inkluderade studietyperna var RCT-studier, fallstudier, kvalitativa fallstudier, en studie som var både kvantitativ och kvalitativ och en reviewartikel med inkluderad kvalitativ fallstudie.
