Sissinghurst är en vacker trädgårdsanläggning som ligger i grevskapet Kent i sydöstra Storbritannien.Syftet med detta arbete var att studera Sissinghursts historia, design och växtslag men även att undersöka vad som gör Sissinghurst till en typisk arts -and -craftsträdgård.Trädgården köptes på 1930-talet av skriftställaren och diplomaten Harold Nicolson och författarinnan Vita Sackville-West. En ordentlig upprustning gjordes av Sissinghurst och sedan skapade de tillsammans den mest berömda och besökta arts -and -craftsträdgården i England.Trädgården användes som om den hade varit ett hus. Övre gården utgör hallen där höjdpunkten är den purpurröda rabatten med blad som har en silvergrå nyans. Vita trädgården är matsalen som är det mest berömda trädgårdsrummet på Sissinghurst. Den innehåller bara vita blommor med ett inslag av ljust rosa.

The aim of the project was to study the effect of oral administration of glucose and leucin on the resynthesis of muscle glycogen after intense exercise in Standardbred trotters. In a crossover design, 11 Standardbred trotters performed a standardized exercise test on two occasions in order to deplete muscle glycogen. The exercise test comprised a warm up period, 7 repeated bouts of exercise on an uphill 500 m slope, and a recovery period. After the exercise test horses received: 1) a solution of glucose and leucine via a nasogastric tube at 0 minutes and at 240 minutes post exercise and a single bout of glucose at 120 minutes post exercise or 2) water (placebo) at 0, 120 and 240 minutes. Blood samples for measurement of glucose and insulin concentrations were collected at rest, when the horses returned to the stables directly after exercise and throughout the 6 hour recovery phase. During the first recovery hour, samples were collected every 15 minutes and then every 30 minutes over the next 5 hours.

Regardless of reasons why these students have come to Sweden, it is common that they are newly arrived and have to learn a second language, in this case Swedish. This will be a challenge, opportunities and difficulties for the student, students? families and for the school and their staff.The purpose of this essay has been to illumine the teaching methods, models and what materials are used by teachers today to contribute to the best possible second language learning for newly arrived students. In this essay the focus has been on one theory and several model-based approaches.

The Working Hours Act regulates the working time conditions and together with the Working Time Directive of EU both acts aim to protect the workers. However, with The Swedish Model it is possible to diverge from the law-regulations by collective agreement by the parts of the Swedish labor market. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the national and international law regulations and further on study a few selected Swedish central collective agreements to discover in which extension deviation from the law occur. The sections of the Working Hours Act?s that has been investigated is ordinary working time, daily rest, weekly rest periods, breaks and maximum weekly working time.

Metod: Det empiriska materialet, best?ende av 19 nyhetsartiklar fr?n de svenska tidningarna Dagens Nyheter, Aftonbladet, Expressen, Svenska Dagbladet, G?teborgs-Posten, Svenska Dagbladet Junior och Kamratposten, har analyserats genom en kritisk inneh?llsanalys med en diskursanalytisk ansats inspirerad av Foucault f?r att synligg?ra diskursiva konstruktioner, diskurser samt de positioner och handlande som barn tillskrivs. Resultat: Av resultatet framg?r att barn konstrueras p? tre olika s?tt och att de olika konstruktionerna (o)m?jligg?r olika typer av handlande. Barn konstrueras genom spr?kliga mark?rer i artiklarna som konsumenter, som s?rbara och som kompetenta.

Denna studie fokuserar på sponsring inom kultursektorn utifrån den sponsrade partens perspektiv. Syftet med studien är att analysera hur aktörer inom kultursektorn går tillväga för att identifiera och attrahera potentiella sponsorer till sina verksamheter. Studien är avgränsad till sponsring inom kultursektorn i Sverige och de aktörer som undersöks är Bonniers Konsthall, Riksteatern, Skansen och Way out West. Undersökningen bygger på en flerfallstudie där intervjuer har genomförts med representanter för varje aktör. Studiens övergripande teoretiska referensram är hämtad från Managerial Theory och de koncept som används är marknadsföringskonceptet och marknadsföringsmixen.

The Pitted ware dwelling site Ajvide on the west coast of Gotland in the Baltic Sea is, because of its long continuity from the late Mesolithic to the middle of the Scandinavian Bronze Age, an interesting research object concerning Stone Age in the Baltic area. In this essay, a comparison between two activity areas on Ajvide have been carried out in the purpose of finding out what these areas may have been used for during the middle Neolithic.  It has been showed, through zooarchaeological analyses of animal bones, that the areas most likely are depositing sites for slaughters refuse and food debris. The purpose of the study is to expose how the US newspaper New York Times and the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter mediate the war in Afghanistan. Furthermore a comparison is done to map out possible differences and similarities. To fulfill the purpose of the study a critical discourse analysis has been used. The results have shown both differences and similarities between the newspapers. The main conclusions are tendencies of correspondence with previous research and theoretical base, such as the furtherance of elite sources, the promotion of the national political agenda and the national identity and an obvious construction of us and them..

Sweden had in the early 1930's the lowest birth rate in the world. Population Commission which was established in 1935 concluded that one of the biggest social problems was the working women?s heavy workload. Today we are living in a time were impulses from other places and cultures constantly grow and the contact over the boundary is getting bigger. We se satellites pictures over the world, we hear about worldwide ecological problems, we learn about other different lifestyles, we cock food that are inspired from the worlds many kitchens, we shop more and we can travel to different parts of the world. My problem was to find out how cultural phenomenon spreads to a greater extent global and how this transference take place, but also be able to se what factors that has a part in the cultural spread.What I found with help from my literature study was that trough improved communication and transports has gained mobility in the world and people can take part off others culture.The world is shrinking and this means that human beings identity is changing and this create a so-called hybrid mixture. Culture is what we human beings create. Culture can be seen as a community phenomenon for the most parts.

This thesis work is a 30hp D-level assignment in design as a co-operation between MälardalenUniversity and Scania CV AB in Södertälje. The purpose was to develope a close fitted catwalk.The market has seen an increasing value for these types of applications and have the ambition to keep up with the rest of the competitors. The catwalks of todays standards shall be estetical attractive, have a non slippery surface and be costefficient.While working with this project I have spent a lot of time with the concept proposals and with the evaluation of the concepts, resulting in a final CAD model and a approximation of the cost estimate. The new catwalk fulfils all the new recommendations and rules as sharp edges, ADR, the height of the stepup and a non slippery surface with built in drainage..

The manor Fållnäs gård is situated at the northern end of the bay Fållnäsviken, c. 12 km north-west of Nynäshamn, Sweden. A 300 cm long sediment core collected in the bay has been analyzed regarding pollen stratigraphy. AMS 14C dating of terrestrial macrofossils indicates that the sequence covers the last c. 5400 years.The aim has been to study vegetational changes, especially human impact, in the surroundings of Fållnäs gård.
