The aim of this thesis is to expand the understanding of 16th century Flemish art by approaching paintings by artists Pieter Aertsen (1508-1575), Joachim Beuckelaer (1533-1574) and Pieter Bruegel (c. 1525-1569) from a different perspective. This is done by extending the discourse of art history, into a discourse of literary history and primarily 16th century novels by authors such as François Rabelais and Miguel de Cervantes. The paintings are studied in relation to these 16th century novels, by comparison and as a testament of this specific time period. A widening contextualization is also constructed in which a connection to the expression of the carnivals ambivalent form, as well as the notion of lower classes is explored.

In this paper we investigate whether power structures in organizations have an influence in the process that leads to burnout. We analyze if these power structures affect the individual?s health condition toward burnout in a way that leads to disability and subsequent absence from work. In the study, six persons who all have been unable to work due to burnout have been studied through qualitative, semi-structured interviews. The material have been coded with three different themes; leadership and hierarchy, responsibility and delegation of responsibility and performance and loyalty.

Uppsatsen handlar om retoriken i tv-spel. I tv-spelsforskningen pågår en debatt mellan ludologin och narratologin där ludologin menar att spel ska ses som spel och inget annat ? exempelvis som en fotbollsmatch där spelet självt är det huvudsakliga innehållet och där ingen frågar efter ytterligare mening. Narratologin menar att spel i grunden är berättande eller bär på berättande drag ? att en fotbollsmatch följer en överskådlig dramaturgi och berättande mönster.

ABSTRACTThis thesis focuses on the OPEC oil crisis of 1973 and its impact on the Scandinavian countries of Sweden and Denmark. Starting from Walter Carlsnaes theory of energy vulnerability, the concepts of vulnerability and national security are tested on the selected cases and an array of policy alternatives are assessed. Posited available options like oil stockpiling, conservation, renewable energy and international coordination are evaluated as means for ameliorating the vulnerability of the nations. The theory chosen is further expounded with a consensus element to reinforce its explanatory power. The thesis utilizes a wide range of material from parliamentary records to daily newspapers in an attempt to shed some light on the interplay between economics and politics.Sweden and Denmark evince diverging developments despite their common starting point with exceptionally high oil dependencies and can be located on different ends of the energy policy gamut.

I detta arbete har uppfattningen av känslor via ambiensljud, effektljud och röst undersökts i en ljudberättelse. Detta har gjorts för att få en ökad uppfattning om hur ljud påverkar en situation och om det går att ersätta musiken som känslomässig anknytning till berättelsen.Ljudberättelserna är designade med tre olika känslor i fokus, glädje/lycka, stress/ spänning samt ilska. Analysen av dessa gjordes genom att intervjua 12 personer som sedan svarade på frågor baserade på Tuuris m.fl. tabell om ljuduppfattning. Därefter analyserades resultaten utifrån Michel Chions Semantic och Causal för att se var varje informant fokuserade.

The purpose of this essay is to critically review three different contributions to the agency ? structure debate from a political science perspective. My opinon is that the agency ? structure debate is one of the main problems within the social science. The theories which I will examine are Lennart Berntsons theory from 1974, Lennart Lundquists from 1984 and Walter Carlsnaes from 1992.

Today, the definition of literature has changed. Walter J. Ong talks about the secondary spoken language that has surfaced as a result of new technical innovations to our writing tools. This also transforms our attitude towards literature and we can see a return to literature based on verbal characteristics. According to Hans Hertel the verbal renaissance reflects a modern man need to come closer to each other and create togetherness.

Ephemerality is one of the most essential characteristics of fashion, since fashion by definition is existing in the present, in the fleeing moment. Also, fashion is closely related to art and there is currently no clear theoretical distinction made regarding the boundary between these two domains. In this essay I have explored the concept of transiency and the relationship between fashion and art in relation to fashion in general and to the collection Haute Papier, made by the fashion designer Bea Szenfeld, in specific. The Haute Papier collection is constructed almost entirely out of simple white paper sheets and of this reason it can be regarded as ephemeral. The material also positions the garments in a void between fashion and art, simultaneously existing in both domains and in none of them.

Den undersöker även hur detta kom att påverka synen på människan som subjekt, då det inte enbart är det tekniska som innebär en mekanisering utan även samhällssystemet i sig. För att utröna på vilket sätt detta kunde komma till uttryck redan i början av 1900-talet, då mekaniseringen ännu var tämligen ny, utgår analysen från romanen Kameran går (1915) av Luigi Pirandello vari han låter filmvärlden representera hela den framväxande kulturindustrin. Genom att analysera Kameran går mot bakgrund av den därefter framväxande industrialiseringen och de politiska faktorer som rådde, samt mot teorierna kring kulturindustrin och mekaniseringen framställda av Walter Benjamin och Theodor W. Adorno, har en slående likhet gått att skönja som tyder på att dessa idéer om bland annat naturbehärskning, objektifiering, värdeförlust och kulturindustrin är tydliga redan i mekaniseringens början.
