?Alla ska med på sina villkor?? : Några exempel på hur musiklärare arbetar och förhåller sig till gruppundervisning med elever som har någon form av funktionsnedsättning

Den här studien syftar till att belysa hur musiklärare som undervisar grupper med funktionsnedsatta elever, förhåller sig till sin egen musikundervisning. För att närma mig musiklärarnas olika förhållningssätt valde jag att använda den kvalitativa intervjun som forskningsmetod. Hanken och Johansens (1998) kategorier för den pedagogiska grundsynen hos en musiklärare utgör en stor del av de teoretiska utgångspunkterna för studien. Jag har bland annat jämfört och placerat in informanterna i Hanken och Johansens kategorier för att på så sätt få fram en tydligare bild av informanternas undervisning.Resultatet visar tydligt att elevernas funktionsnedsättning inte påverkar målet med informanternas undervisning. Det som skiljer musikundervisning för elever med funktionsnedsättning från elever utan funktionsnedsättning är framförallt undervisningssättet och metoden.

Utbildning och kompetens inom funktionshinderomsorgen : En jämförande studie av chefers och baspersonals reflektioner kring kompetens och utbildning

The study aims to describe, compare, and analyze how managers and basic staff in disability care reflects on education and competence in the organization and from an organizational context explain how the professionalization efforts can be understood at different levels of disability care. Highlighting these questions can stimulate discussion within this field when it comes to the evaluation of competence and skills of staff working with people with various disabilities, which is also sought after in society even more today. The study is qualitative and the result is based on five semi-structured interviews with managers and basic staff in disability care. The interview questions were categorized according to the concepts that are central in this essay: competence, training, professionalism and organization.The results show that there is some doubt about what a higher competence of personnel in direct contact with the users would mean. Among the basic staff uncertainty seems to be highest.

Ni får ju prata, men... : om skolans pedagogiska idéer och uppdrag utifrån begreppet kommunikation

The purpose of this study is to describe the three most significant pedagogical ideas and their impact on the national curriculum from the concept of communication. As the school is a social learning community this study looks at some teachers? perceptions and experiences of teaching with a communicative approach, and the obstacles they claim to meet. The educationist Kieran Egan argue that these three pedagogical ideas are incompatible and that a curriculum that compromises them is doomed to fail. He mean that a new coherent view on education is required and should be based on students? understandings.

Picturing Words and Spelling out Pictures Semantic, phonological and spatial aspects of working memory capacity and processing and their implication for information layout

This study investigates verbal and visuospatial memory strategies used by individuals with perceptual or cognitive disabilities. The groups concentrated on in this study are deaf individuals who are native sign language users and individuals with dyslexia. The study comprises an experiment and an in-depth study in which a pre-test and a questionnaire were used. Nine deaf signers, two persons with dyslexia and 12 persons without any perceptual or cognitive constraints participated. Of these 23 persons, seven were selected to take part in the in-depth study.

This study is about being manager in social care and social welfare organisations. Ten women managers participate in the study and share their thoughts about management. Such organisations are an area where women are most frequent, so we wanted to take part of experiences women managers in this area obtain. The study concentrates upon factors these women encounter and which they feel can affect them in their daily work. The study shows that the women we interviewed have a basic interest in humans and a strong commitment to working for human well being.

Hur agerar pedagoger utomhus? : En studie i förhållningssätt till barn i förskolan och deras utemiljö.

The following essay or thesis is a study over scientific endeavors in the fringe. It is a study of Riksorganisationen UFO-Sverige, whose proponents aim to make the UFO phenomenon (or phenomena) a subject of scientific scrutiny. To achieve this, the ufologists first have to redefine common concepts of ufology as pseudo science or religion, mainly by challenging definitions given by scientific sceptics on the one hand, and proponents of conspiracy theories or the new age environment on the other. Thus UFO-Sverige seeks to construct an alternative scientific identity in contrast to adversaries on both sides, each unwilling to give the UFO phenomenon any further examination. Following the work of Tomas Gieryn's sociological grip on questions of epistemology, especially concerning the social boundaries of science from other cultural categories through what has been labelled as epistemic boundary work, during which proponents of a particular field aim to achieve epistemic authority and thus the legitimate right to define what is and what is not science, I seek to analyze how questions of science and legitimacy are actualized in an intellectual environment or culture not broadly accepted as scientific.

?Ett bra liv förutsätter att föräldrarna är rätt så aktiva? : Föräldrars perspektiv vid LSS-handläggning  för barn

The aim of this study was to describe and understand parents? perspectives in aid assessment for children according to The Swedish Act (1993:387) concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (Lag 1993:387 om stöd och service till vissa funktionshindrade, LSS). The study took place in the county of Kronoberg, Sweden, and was based on a total of nine qualitative interviews. Four interviews were made with parents? of children who has interventions according to LSS (1993:387) and five interviews were made with LSS case workers. In our study we saw that parents? perspectives often is the largest amount of information that case workers take into account when assessing aid and as a case worker you listen to the parents perspectives to capture the child?s and the family?s needs. It also came clear that the parents? perspective is not only about the child?s needs, but also includes the parent?s own needs and their family?s needs. The parents in the study felt that they made the decision about the choice of aid and considered themselves as the one who decides the family?s requirements. It turned out that treatment and understanding from the case workers was important for gaining access to the best help and making parents feel listened to. Parental responsibility was of great importance for the assessment, and it often led to disagreement between parents and case workers. During the study, we saw that power existed in the relationship between case workers and parents, but that it could be moved and changed during the time of aid assessment..

De handikappade och de normala: En studie om social identitet hos elever på riksgymnasium för rörelsehindrade

The aim of this qualitative study was to investigate the social identity of students at upper secondary school for physically disabled students. The youths I drew my attention to suffered from severe physical disabilities and therefore received specially adapted education in small classes, but integrated at an ordinary upper secondary school.By "social identity" I mean how the students view themselves as a group, how they value their membership of the group and how they relate to non-disabled students at school. I wanted to investigate the connections between these students' social identity and the problems of marginalization of disabled people in society.According to qualitative methods I interviewed five physically disabled students, aged 18-19, at upper secondary school level taking part of especially adapted education. The study showed that these students regarded themselves as a segregated group at school. None of them associated with non-disabled students at school.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to study whether bibliometrics can serve as a method to analyse the humanities.To investigate this a literature study was conducted that examined previous studies concerning bibliometrics and the humanities. Furthermore a bibliometric analysis of comparative literature was carried out. These research findings were then further examined through the perspective of theories on intellectual and social organization of the scienceThe bibliometrical study includes 38 literature journals (11 855 articles in total) which were downloaded from ISI's Web of Science. The material was analysed by using co-citation analysis and co-word analysis. The results of the study are presented in five co-citation maps.

Idrott och hälsa i gymnasiesärskolan En kvalitativ studie av undervisningen i Idrott och hälsa i en gymnasiesärskola

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att utveckla kunskap om och förståelse för ämnet Idrott och hälsa i gymnasiesärskolan. Detta görs genom att beskriva vilka former av kunskap som realiseras i undervisningen och hur detta görs. Det faktiska genomförandet jämförs med lärarnas tolkning av ämnet och diskuteras i ljuset av omgivande normer, lärarnas personliga påverkan, ämnestraditioner och yttre ramar. Materialinsamlingen utfördes på en gymnasiesärskola via 13 lektionsobservationer och fem intervjuer med dem som undervisar i ämnet. Resultaten visar på en verksamhet som domineras av ett integrerat kunskapsideal.

"Det måste finnas i huvudet också" : en intervjustudie ur ett lärarperspektiv om ett inkluderande arbetssätt i ämnet idrott och hälsa

Ämnet idrott och hälsa ger utmärkta möjligheter för elever med en funktionsnedsättning att vara fysiskt aktiv och leka tillsammans med sina kamrater, trots det verkar deltagandet inte vara en självklarhet i dagens skola. Syftet med denna studie är därför att undersöka några idrottslärares reflektioner och erfarenheter kring ett inkluderande arbetssätt i ämnet idrott och hälsa. Då studien handlar om mänskliga uppfattningar och erfarenheter har vi inspirerats av ett fenomenologiskt synsätt och använde därför intervju som datainsamlingsmetod. Intervjuerna genomfördes med sex idrottslärare i ett län i mellersta Sverige. Resultatet visade att trots att pedagogerna är positiva till inkludering så tror de att det är en lång väg att gå innan vi kan ha en skola för alla.

Drabbade män och beroende kvinnor : En aktstudie utifrån ett genusperspektiv

Syftet med studien var att analysera biståndsutredningar utifrån ett genusperspektiv för att undersöka om det finns några skillnader både språkligt och innehållsmässigt utifrån kön. Vårt gemensamma intresse för genusfrågor och socialt arbete för individer med funktionsnedsättningar är anledningen till valet av studiens inriktning. Karin Barrons teori om att kvinnor och män med funktionsnedsättningar inte tilldelas kön har inspirerat till studien.Med hjälp av socialkonstruktivism och ett genusperspektiv har empirin analyserats med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Studiens empiri består av biståndsutredningar enligt Lagen om stöd och service för vissa funktionshindrade (SFS 1993:387) angående ansökan om personlig assistans. Utredningarna kommer ifrån en relativt stor kommun.Resultatet visar att språket i biståndsutredningarna synliggör kön och skapar olika bilder av kvinnor och män med funktionsnedsättningar.

Case Managements spridning i kommunala organisationer : En organisatorisk förändring inom socialt arbete

The aim of this study was to comprehend and explain the idea and function of Case Management and its diffusion in Swedish municipalities. More specifically its aim was to investigate factors for the diffusion of Case Management and its differences to similar professional roles. The study was based on interviews with four managers at various levels and two case managers representing two municipalities in Sweden. Five themes were identified that were especially interesting when discussing the function of Case Management, its differences to similar professional roles and its diffusion in Swedish municipalities. The themes were: shortcomings in the welfare system, the functions of Case Management, differences to similar professional roles, descriptions of Case Management and factors for the diffusion.
