This thesis describes the new construction of a small house and it includes studies of three heating systems: geothermal heating, district heating and pellet. The purpose of this thesis is to project a small house which can manage Building Regulations, BBR conditions and then examine three possible heating systems for the small house. This thesis is a literature study which gives an understanding of the heating systems technical structure, properties and costs. An empirical study completes the literature study by giving a deeper understanding of district heating costs and pellet costs. The empirical study contains two interviews, one of which was conducted in a district heating corporation and the other interview was conducted in a pellet corporation.

This paper covers a study of the Swedish charging market for electric vehicles from both the perspective of stakeholders and car owners. By interviewing representatives of four key stakeholders on the market; commercial parkings, malls, service stations and working places, data regarding their business models of today is examined. At present electricity is provided for free, but all stakeholder point out that this business model is not sustainable in the long run. The result of the interviews shows that electricity won?t be offered for free in the future ? the question is which factors affect how long it will take for the different stakeholders to find a suitable business model.

Today many people with disabilities are excluded from cultural activities. The reason for this is that activities and the environment are not adapted to people with disabilities. The aim of this study is to describe the process to make cultural activities accessible and to describe the importance of good communication between cultural suppliers and their customers. Other questions raised are accessibility to cultural activities for people with hearing disabilities, the activities in the marketing process, the interaction between theatre companies and its audience and if the interaction has contributed to the theatre's future development. Qualitative interviews with staff responsible for integration at seven theatres have been performed.

Detta examensarbete genomfördes på Volvo CE i Eskilstuna under våren 2013. Kursen, KPP230, på Mälardalens högskola har omfattningen 15 högskolepoäng. Programmet författarna läser heter innovation, produktion och logistik med inriktningen entreprenörskap och företagande.Uppgiften var att utmana några projektdeltagares arbetssätt på Volvo CE med fokus på de första stegen i projektmodellen vad gäller maskininvesteringar för att undersöka om det gick att få deltagarna mer innovativa, entreprenöriella samt mer engagerade, motiverade och inspirerade.Fyra kreativa övningar har genomförts, först i en pilotgrupp och sedan i en projektgrupp på Volvo. För att kunna koppla detta till verkligheten fanns möjligheten att vara delaktiga i ett projekt där målet var att fyra monteringsavdelningar skulle bli en eller två. Intervjuer av de anställda har genomförts för att få reda på hur de arbetar och vad de tycker om arbetsklimatetDet visade sig att projektgruppen blev mer kreativ, innovativ och tillät sig själva att tänka på andra sätt än tidigare när de kreativa övningarna genomfördes.

Volvo Personvagnar AB (Volvo PV) ingår sedan 1999 i Ford Motor Company. I ett så stort företag som Volvo PV är det självklart omöjligt för en enskild individ att ensam bedriva det totala arbetsmiljöarbetet och därför krävs det att uppgifter och ansvar fördelas till medarbetare ute i organisationen som har möjlighet att överblicka arbetsmiljön och åtgärda eventuella brister, om sådana skulle uppkomma. När uppgifter fördelas ner i organisationen krävs mycket tydliga rutiner och instruktioner för att ledningen skall kunna säkerställa att arbetet bedrivs effektivt och att eventuella problem åtgärdas.Syftet med denna uppsats var att redogöra för gällande rätt kring delegering av arbetsmiljöuppgifter och vilka rekvisit som finns för att kunna genomföra en rättsligt giltig delegering. Studien av gällande rätt låg sedan till grund för en analys av Volvo Personvagnars delegeringsordning och rutinerna för denna. Det konstaterades att delegeringen av arbetsmiljöuppgift inte automatiskt innebär att den sommottagit uppgiften även är den som har straffansvaret vid en olycka.

I detta arbete har en studie gjorts för att undersöka en metod i MSC.Marc för att reducera analystiden vid svetssimulering. Arbetet är utfört åt Volvo Aero. På Volvo Aero utförs svetssimuleringar vilka är väldigt tidskrävande. Dessa görs för att kunna förutsäga formförändringar och spänningar i modellerna. Eftersom svetssimuleringarna kan vara väldigt tids och minneskrävande finns det mycket att vinna om man kan förkorta beräkningstiden.

Danmarksplass is situated just outside the centre of the city of Bergen on the Norwegian west coast. It was built in the 1930´s as a result of an architecture competition won by the prominent Norwegian architect Ole Landmark. Danmarksplass was originally meant to function as a local square, but its location next to Fjösangerveien, a road that caters for most of the through traffic in the Bergen valley today and is part of one of the main European roads, E39, would prove it difficult for that idea to prevail. Along with the ever increasing car traffic, Danmarksplass has more and more become a very busy traffic junction. Nowadays the car is the sole ruler of Danmarksplass.

Syftet med detta projekt är att utvärdera ModFix som verktyg och arbetsmetoden för att skaps fixturer med ModFix. ModFix är ett verktyg som är integrerad i Siemens simuleringsmiljön Process Simulate och används för att skapa modulära fixturer. Målsättningen med arbetsmetoden där fixturer skapas med ModFix är att ledtiden och mantimmarna för att skapa fixturer ska reduceras med 50 % i jämförelse med Volvo Cars nuvarande arbetsmetod där fixturer skapas med Catia V5.ModFix-verktyget består av tre funktioner. Dessa funktioner är; Configuration Administrator, Fixture Designer och Modular Fixture Mapping Report. Configuration Administrator är ModFix´s administrationsverktyg och används för att skapa de fixturbaser och fixturkonfigurationer som senare används för att skapa modulära fixturer med Fixture Designer.

Bakgrund: För att vara kostnadseffektiv och utveckla nya bilmodeller i snabb takt använder sig bilföretag av produktplattformar. En produktplattform är ingen fysisk produkt utan varieras med olika komponenter beroende på vilka delar på bilmodellerna som skall vara unika respektive vilka delar som skall vara gemensamma. Nackdelar med flera gemensamma komponenter är att slutprodukterna blir identiska i flera avseenden, vilket försvårar varumärkets arbete med att göra produkterna unika och skilja de från konkurrenternas. En konflikt uppstår således mellan produktplattformens strävan efter gemensamma komponenter och varumärkets arbete med att göra produkten unik.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att utifrån de gjorda fallstudierna på bilmodellerna Volvo XC60 respektive Land Rover Freelander 2 som producerats på en gemensam produktplattform analysera och jämföra varumärkenas och bilmodellernas benägenhet att förmedla vad som är unikt i samband med en reklamkampanj.Genomförande: Uppsatsen är genomförd med en kvalitativ ansats, där intervjuer har genomförts. Den empiriska studien är uppbyggd av två deskriptiva fallstudier och jämförelser har gjorts mellan fallen för att se skillnader.Resultat: Uppsatsen har kommit fram till att varumärket är av stort värde för företag eftersom två identiska produkter producerade på en gemensam produktplattform kan säljas som två unika produkter.

Working with cost savings is a way to enhance earnings in a short term but also in a longer perspective. Volvo Powertrain Production Köping has an overall goal; to reduce costs by nine percentages in three years. To achieve the goal, Volvo Powertrain Production Köping works with World Class Manufacturing where the Department of Processing Technology constitutes an important part.Volvo Powertrain Production Köping lacks a standard for how savings within the metal cutting tool area are to be calculated. This makes it difficult to control and monitor their business outcome but it also causes difficulties in controlling the tool suppliers? outcome.

Uppsalahem is the leading housing corporation in Uppsala with its over 160 real estate properties. Uppsalahem is owned by the municipality of Uppsala, which has a climate and energy goal that aims for 100 MW of solar energy to be installed in Uppsala by 2030. The 100 MW goal, combined with Uppsalahem?s environmental policy, is a strong incentive to investigate the possibility of installing PV modules on the many available roof areas that Uppsalahem possesses. The objective of this thesis is to create a foundation for future decisions regarding PV systems for Uppsalahem.

Due to recent legal enactments regarding carbon dioxide emissions, the car industry is facing higher demands. An effective way of reducing these emissions is to minimize the weight of the vehicle. This thesis constitutes a feasibility study on whether or not it is applicable for the car industry to utilize an inner floor structure comprising composite materials. The principal was the projectSåNätt, in which the main participant was Volvo Cars Corp. In consultation with a reference group, consisting of delegates from the industry and KTH, a specification of requirements was produced.

Denna studie har resulterat i ett nytt koncept med tillhörande design för hur individualiserad informationspresentation till förare i bilar skulle kunna se ut. Designen har framkommit genom litteraturstudier, State of the Art studier om informationssystem i dagens nya bilar, domänexpertintervjuer och användarstudier i form av Goal Directed Design. Slutligen utvärderades designen. Litteraturstudierna gav en god grund för vilken informationspresentation som finns i bilar idag. State of the Art studierna resulterade i en sammanfattning av nya informationssystem som fanns i tre nya bilar från tre olika bilmärken.

A refugee reception has been placed in Kungshall, one of Nybros residential areas. The area has a bad reputation and there are arguably prejudices about the area from the local population. I therefore want to investigate if an ethnic residential segregation exists in Kungshall, from a postcolonial perspective. The following research questions have been formulated: How do residents who doesn?t live in the refugee reception, look at ethnic residential segregation in Nybro? How has Kungshall changed since the refugee reception? Does a cultural racism exist in Kungshall? The study is a qualitative study using semi structured interviews of four people living in the residential area, a person who has moved out of the area and a person working on the housing corporation ?Nybro bostads AB?, who is one of the housing corporation responsible for the residential area Kungshall.
