The United Nations Children?s Fund, UNICEF, is a global organization that works for children?s human rights around the world. But perhaps even charity work, which´s often glorified in the society, need to be looked at from different directions. Research about intercultural education, globalization and charity shows that even good deeds can end up reproducing the problem that was supposed to be solved in the first place.

SAMMANFATTNINGI Sverige drabbas ca 10 000 personer av hjärtstopp utanför sjukhus varje år. Överlevnaden är låg, men på senare år har åtskilliga insatser gjorts för att förbättra dessa siffror. Bland annat har man börjat utbilda brandmän, säkerhetsvakter och taxichaufförer i hjärt-lungräddning med defibrillator och numer är hypotermibehandling en vedertagen metod för att skydda den ischemiskt skadade hjärnan. Trots detta kan dessa patienter drabbas av funktionsnedsättning på grund av den syrebrist i hjärnan som ändå uppstår till följd av hjärtstoppet. Det är viktigt att ha kunskap om hur dessa patienter mår och klarar av sin vardag sedan de lämnat sjukhuset, för att kunna ge det stöd de behöver för att kunna återgå till ett så normalt liv som möjligt.Syftet var att beskriva livssituationen hos patienter som drabbats av hjärtstopp med fokus på livskvalitet, kognitiva funktioner och ADL.Forskningsöversikt valdes som metod för att få en samlad bild över aktuellt kunskapsläge inom detta problemområde.

Metabolic diseases in dairy cows are considered to increase the risk for claw lesions, most of all laminitis, sole haemorrhages and sole ulcers, but also to increase the risk for environmental claw lesions. The aim of this study was to compare claw health in 27 Swedish dairy farms, 18 with high incidence of metabolic diseases and 9 with low incidence. Data on claw health status was retrieved from recordings at routine claw trimmings and analysed on herd level regarding the prevalence of: any lesion, interdigital dermatitis, heel-horn erosion, sole haemorrhages, sole ulcer, lameness, abnormal claw shape, and other diseases (abscess in the white line, limb disorders, double sole, laminitic groove, white line disease, interdigital phlegmon, interdigital hyperplasia, toe abscess and verucose dermatitis). Mean prevalence of any lesion for herds with low incidence of metabolic diseases was 48 % and in herds with high incidence 41 %, and there was no statistical difference between the two groups. The purpose of the thesis is to describe how environmental compensation is carried through when it comes to exploitation of Natura 2000. The thesis also relates to the three theories of planning synoptic, advocacy and transactive. Three cases of environmental compensation have been studied from three different countries where an exploitation of the Natura 2000 is done. Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands have all been working with environmental impact assessments as a demand to be able to carry through their projects. The projects concern the development of a railway track, an industry and a port which all have been approved by the EU-commission to carry on because of socioeconomic reasons.

Pitch Correction - is it a must? An interview inquiry about opinions concerning pitch correction in music making today. This work intends to find out what music producers, singers and those with a great interest in music really think about the use of pitch correction programs, both in the studio and live. The thoughts concerning this came when I began to work with these programs in a studio, mostly for vocal use. I realized that the thoughts and opinions about the use of pitch correction varies a lot.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att försöka förstå varför mentala problem vid ett framträdande i sång uppkommer samt att hitta lösningar till dessa. Bakgrunden till att jag vill skriva om detta är att jag under praktiker och arbeten med sångelever märkt att just mentala problem ofta hindrar människor från att bland annat framträda inför en publik. Dessutom känner jag mig själv hindrad av denna typ av problem vid framföranden. Mina frågeställningar har bland andra varit hur sångaren påverkas av sin nervositet och vad kritik spelar för roll. Självförtroende och självkänsla är förutom nervositet och kritik termer som dykt upp vid flertalet tillfällen under arbetets gång.

The top selection of Swedish beef bulls are evaluated yearly by Svensk Köttrasprövning AB at Gismestad. The bulls are selected from six different breeds; Angus, Blonde d´Aquitaine, Charolais, Hereford, Limousin and Simmental, and are kept on straw bedding apart from a concrete alley in front of the feeding area during the six months of evaluation period. The bulls are evaluated according to their fertility scores, growth, exterior and temperament and the exterior, body posture and claw conformation reflect important qualities for their longevity. In spite of good values for fertility, it has been noticed in the last years that the fertility results and longevity have been unsatisfactory and claw and/or bone disorders have been suspected as a contributory cause. Persson et al. (2007) studied breeding bulls from Gismestad and other places, which had been slaughtered due to poor fertility (no pregnancies in the herd during their last year in service).

Destinationer står idag för ökade ekonomiska, sociala och miljömässiga utmaningar som destinationen måste ta till vara på för att överleva och sätta sitt namn på kartan. Syftet med studien är att belysa och få fram hur de tre organisationerna Svenska Mässan, Göteborg & Co samt Got Event arbetar med sin destinationsmarknadsföring för att attrahera turister ur ett evenemangsperspektiv. Studien har även till syfte att belysa om evenemang bidrar till att stärka stadens image och varumärke då dessa två begrepp har en central roll i uppsatsen.

Is it possible that changes in the gut microbiota of the domestic dog are involved in the increasing numbers of animals with gastrointestinal disorders? Probiotics have been proven to promote the immune system of dogs by increasing concentrations of neutrophils and monocytes, decreasing the fragility of erythrocytes and increasing the serum IgG concentrations. Probiotics have also been shown to improve the fecal consistency, fecal dry matter and defecation frequency of dogs. The aim of this study was to find out if the bacterial counts in the gut of dogs differed from the gut of wolves, with the focus on lactobacilli.

Detta examensarbete har gått ut på att finna en ny konstruktionslösning på uttlopps-diffusorns inloppsrör på gasturbin SGT-800. Arbetet har utförts på Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB i Finspång på avdelning RCTD (gasturbinkonstruktion).Målet med projektet har varit att ta fram en konstruktionslösning som underlättar för svetsmontörerna på site när det gäller installation av inloppsrören, samt reducerar monteringstiden. Målet har även varit att ta fram en kostnadsjämförelse för totalkostnaden mellan den nya och originalkonstruktionen.Den metodik som har använts till detta arbete är Voice of the customer samt Systematisk konceptutveckling som baseras på bl.a. Vladimir Hubkas princip. Även original-konstruktionen har undersökts via ritningar och bilder tagna från tidigare sitemontage.Originalkonstruktionen skickas idag till site omonterad tillsammans med utlopps-diffusorn direkt från SIT AB:s underleverantör KSG AB i Surte för att sedan monteras och svetsas fast på site.

Denna studie är gjord för att undersöka ungdomars tankar kring musik och text, och då med utgångspunkt från forskningsfrågan: Vad är det som gör en låt "bra" och vilken roll spelar budskap och text i musik för tonåringar idag? Studien grundar sig i ett intresse för budskap i musik och funderingar kring huruvida detta budskap når fram till dagens tonåring. All musik förmedlar något men hur uppfattar mottagaren det? Handlar en bra låt endast om musik? Spelar texten den viktigaste rollen i sammanhanget eller är helheten det som tilltalar? Påverkas tonåringarna av musiken och det eventuella budskapet, eller är det något man inte alls bryr sig om? Under tre gruppsamtal med elever från årskurs 7-9 lät jag elever lyssna på låtar och läsa låtens text samt fritt reflektera kring detta. Slutsatsen man utifrån dessa samtal kan dra, är att musiken är det man först möter och således det som avgör hur låten tas emot, samt det som avgör om man är intresserad av att lyssna vidare.
