This essay is a qualitative study concerned with questions about disability. I set out from a definition of disability which highlights non-disabled peoples´ participation in making a disabled person ?the Other?. My aim is to contribute to an understanding of the experiences of disabled people as well as problemize the way that normality and disability is socially constructed. The empirical material of the essay consists of qualitative interviews with disabled men and women and the essay is written with a critical perspective.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether social counselling via chat conversations could meet the criteria for a professional conversation, and how the six social workers who were interviewed felt that it had affected the profession and the clients who are seeking their help.Communication, professionality, power, roles and regions are the key topics of this study. A hermeneutic approach has not only influenced the interviews but also the content analysis that was used to encode the results.The interviews revealed that the chat conversations was a successful tool but not entirely without difficulties. The initial contact making between the client and the social worker favours the client, since she/he remains anonymous and that was the main advantage of the method. The biggest concern however was that in the anonymity it is not possible to report cases that the social worker are obligated to. The changing of forum does not necessarily affect the professionality but due to the faceless chat conversation an entire dimension of communication disappears because the loss of body language.

Today several things point to the fact that many young women are being abused and sexual harassed. Despite that there is no knowledge about how the girls handle the violence or how the battering affects them. For that reason the purpose of this study is to describe and give a picture of some girl?s experiences of being battered of men they have or have had a relationship with. In focus is also how these girls identities are affected of the battering.

AbstractWhen I, at the age of 20, started working in home care service, I had an idea of what it means to age, a view witch I quickly realized was not true at all. The essay begins with a search for the images of aging you come in contact with, when you do not have a deeper interest in the matter.I take a closer look at how aging is described and how the concepts of aging and dignity are often interconnected, and debate about which images of aging that is outdated and where from they originated.I also show that that image is in for a change, much is happening right now, and there are many like me, who want to change and broaden the view of what aging can mean.Finally I describe my sculptures ?Beatrice? and ?Rosmari?, and reflect on how they relate to the image of what old age looks like.As a sculptor, I want to create an alternative to a widespread image of old people as a problem or idealization of the olf lady as a kind, cute and cookiebaking creature, as well as an alternative to the traditional sculpture tradition, that often show men in positions of power, and sweet passive women/girls.I tell of the strong, stubborn, eccentric and absolutely ordinary lady.

This study examines how the American comic book industry?s output is addressing the issue of Islam and in which manner the portrayal of Islam in the great American comic book universes have changed since 2001. The comic books are examined from the postcolonial perspective as formulated by Chandra Mohanty and the power and resistance-perspective as formulated by Michel Foucault. Examination of the comic books reveals far greater focus on universal values, orthopraxy and inclusive perspectives than it does on dogmatic teachings, orthodoxy and sectarianism while at the same time partly relying on generalizations and archetypes concerning Islam. To change the power balance requires what I call intervention from the objective, that is to say that ambiguity regarding Muslim characters has to be eliminated by the narrative.

Uppsatsen syftar till att studera hur familjebehandlaren ser på sin roll och på sitt sätt attförhålla sig till familjen och dess medlemmar i familjebehandling. Vi vill utifrånfamiljebehandlarens perspektiv undersöka vilka personer behandlaren väljer att arbeta medoch på vilket sätt han eller hon relaterar till de olika medlemmarna i det terapeutiska systemetsom bildas mellan behandlare och familj. Vår intention är även att undersöka hur terapeutenupplever sin roll i systemet och i dess förändringsprocess.Vi har i uppsatsen utgått från fyra frågeställningar: Hur ser familjebehandlaren på vilka somska delta i det terapeutiska systemet? Hur förhåller sig familjebehandlaren till familjen ochdess olika medlemmar? Hur ser familjebehandlaren på sin roll som behandlare i detterapeutiska systemet utifrån funktion, position och ansvar? Hur ser familjebehandlaren på sinroll i förändringsprocessen och hur förändras den under processens gång?Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ metod och genomfört intervjuer med fem familjebehandlaresom arbetar inom tre olika stadsdelsförvaltningar i Göteborgs Stad. Studiens resultat haranalyserats utifrån ett strukturellt familjeterapeutiskt perspektiv samt utifrån ettmaktperspektiv.

The purpose of this paper was that through discourse analysis look at how gender and the equality debate is created between two head debaters and commenter's on a forum. We have used Norbert Elias and John L. Scotson´s (1999) theory about Established and Outsiders to see power struggles between groups in the debate. With Jonathan Potters analysis tools in his book Representing Reality (1996) we were able to analyze the debate texts. Using discourse psychology, we were able to see how people use tactical discourse in their texts to represent themselves and the world in different ways.

This paper investigates, through an actor-network theory perspective, how the recreation area Lo?vsta-Kyrkhamn-Riddersvik northwest of Stockholm has developed from being a dumping site into becoming a nature reserve. This investigation also tries to describe and explain which values that have been promoted in the area by the local voluntary associations and companies. Lo?vsta-Kyrkhamn-Riddersvik has been inhabited for more than 3000 years, originally with farming as the most important business.

Counselling is one of the most commonly utilized tools in the work place. The purpose of this paper is to explore how four employers utilize early counselling sessions related to absences due to illness. A qualitative research method has been used and four human resource managers have been interviewed. The research questions have been divided into three categories: the counselling structure, the counselling model and the counselling dilemmas. The interviews have been transcribed and processed through these three categories.

Studiens syfte är att beskriva hur enhetschefer i en offentlig organisation med inriktning på vård och omsorg resonerar kring sina förutsättningar att påverka arbetsmiljön och arbetsglädjen. I organisationen har det under de sista åren skett stora omorganisationer och förändringar som medför en känsla av oro och osäkerhet och ingen vet hur framtiden blir. Arbetslivet står inför stora utmaningar som innebär ett hårdare arbetsklimat med andra villkor som sätter press på människan. Konsekvenserna av de ständiga förändringar och påfrestningar inom arbetslivet leder ofta till en försämrad arbetsmiljö och sämre anställningsvillkor. Det är därför viktigt för dagens organisationer att stödja och utveckla ett gott ledarskap, så ledarna tillsammans med medarbetarna orkar utveckla och driva verksamheten framåt.

Detta examensarbete behandlar ämnet EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) och fokuserar på relationen mellan en grossist och dess leverantörer. EDI är ett sätt att elektroniskt överföra standardiserade dokument på, från ett datasystem till ett annat, utan eller med begränsad mänsklig inblandning.Arbetets syfte är att belysa viktiga aspekter angående EDI-förfarandet hos en stor grossist. Aspekter som behandlas avser det maktförhållande och krav som råder mellan en grossist och dess leverantörer, såsom att införa EDI eller inte, utnyttjandet av EDI, hur makten är fördelad samt hur framtiden påverkar. Undersökningen baseras på intervjuer från sex leverantörer till en grossist och en intervju med grossisten.EDI används i första hand till att hjälpa företagen att rationalisera sin verksamhet. Främst är det administrativ tid som sparas, felfrekvensen som minskas och möjligheter att göra en strategisk satsning som är huvudvinsterna.

Studiens syfte var att öka kunskapen och förståelsen för hur det fungerar att ha en förälder som god man utifrån den enskildes perspektiv. De frågeställningar som låg till grund för syftet rörde hur relationen påverkades av att föräldern var god man, hur personen upplever sitt beroende av föräldern och fördelar och nackdelar med föräldern som god man. I studien användes socialkonstruktionismen som visar på omgivningens betydelse, interpersonell makt och integreringsteorin. Fem kvalitativa intervjuer ligger till grund för undersökningen. Till intervjuerna användes en temainriktad intervjuguide för att underlätta.

Sammanfattning Syftet med det här arbetet är att studera pedagogernas syn på barns inflytande i förskolan. Detta har vi undersökt med hjälp av samtal och intervjuer med pedagoger samt observationer av verksamheten. För att få en bredare förståelse har vi vänt oss till tre avdelningar på två olika förskolor. Med hjälp av våra intervjuer med öppna frågor har vi fått många olika synvinklar på pedagogernas tankar och åsikter om delaktighet och inflytande i förskolan. Vi har kommit fram till att barnens delaktighet och inflytande grundas i att vara närvarande och lyhörda pedagoger.
