The different characteristics of many food products, such as aroma and texture, changes during storage time and become undesirable. The reason is instabilities within the product which become prominent as the product ages. These changes in characteristics are quality losses caused by changes in the product?s intrinsic and extrinsic environment. The stability in UHT-milk and beverages similar to it have been studied in the past decades and a certain focus have been on age gelation which is a common defect in these type of products.

This essay examines the communication value of music in television advertising. It studies different forms of music and whether these forms contribute positively or negatively to how television advertising is perceived and remembered. The forms are jingle, familiar song and unfamiliar song. 100 high school students participated in the study through a questionnaire.                      The study shows that music is an important tool that complements television advertisings visual aspects. Music creates feelings, emphasizes aspects of the image and clarifies the advertised message.

In this essay we discuss the broad area of website usability from a tourism perspective. Our goal was to investigate the usability in smaller and bigger tourism websites. We have declared what website usability means and the importance of involving the users when designing a user interface. In a pilot study, we conducted three interviews with people who work with usability and then used the information we got to form questions to use in a focus group interview. In this focus group, we asked three people to assess two Swedish tourism websites, one bigger and one smaller, to find out if they were considered usable and if there was any difference in usability depending on the size of the site.

This paper examines the impact of conscious shelf management on online grocery stores. An S-O-R framework is used to unveil if some established shelf management techniques from physical stores are applicable in an online context. We also explain some of the cognitive processes customers experience as they get exposed to online buying situations. A main study with two data sources is conducted: one quantitative website experiment with 168 participants who got exposed to five different organisation patterns within five different categories; and one more qualitative eye tracking experiment with 20 participants. The results indicate that a disorganised product page evokes not only different scan paths and cognitive patterns but also generates higher sales.

The purpose of this thesis is to create opportunities for an efficient interchange of information between humans and technology, especially for the skilled user, and put the designprincipal for informative structures and features into practice. Informative structures and features in a large number of information items helps the peripheral visual system to automatically capture knowledge through logical patterns.A field experiment was done to evaluate if informative structures and features, implicate efficient human information-processing, even in a small study. The results was ambiguous because the quantitative part of the investigation didn?t show any significant differences, whereas the qualitative showed that people prefer a dynamic document with a high degree of informative structures and features over a dynamic document with a low degree of informative structures and features. Even if this study was inconsistent, probably because to few subjects where used, the implication of the research that?s behind it is solid.

Arbetet hanterar uppgiften att rita en tillbyggnad till Nationalmuseum. Byggnaden ska enligt uppgiften inhysa arbetsplatser för museets personal, förvaring av konst i magasin, konserveringsateljéer, utrymmen för att hantera in- och utlastning av konst samt en semipublik studiesal. Uppgiften har hanterats utifrån antagandet att logistiken, arbetsplatsen och byggnadens plats i stadsrummet är de tre huvudfrågorna. Den sistnämnda har hanterats med Beaux Arts traditionen som inspiration i det att tillbyggnaden står i direkt relation till museets struktur och volym, men avviker från denna i det att byggnaden inte förlänger strukturen, utan är en omarbetning av den, vilket resulterar i ett annat stadsrum, mer av ett stadsrum än en förlängning av museet. This study?s aim is to investigate how multilingual students learn mathematics and teaching strategies used to support the students? development of knowledge. A total of eleven scientific articles were selected for analysis and comparison. The results showed that visual representation, multimodal forms of expression and the students? whole linguistic repertoire constitute central resources for learning.

This study explores Environmental Storytelling techniques and whether these can beused in combination with each other to lead a player through a game scene in aspecific pattern, affect the player?s narrative and exploratory view and explorewhether Self-paced Exploration can be combined with these techniques.It is a qualitative study conducted by six gaming sessions with accompanyinginterviews in which six people get to play one of three versions of the same gamescene. The only differences between the scenes are the different guidance techniquesused. The informants' movement patterns are identified and interviews recorded byaudio, as well as screen recording. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the political ambitions regarding culture inVärmland, and the situation for artists living on the countryside in Värmland. This meansthat the conditions surronding the artists situation will be looked upon. I have chosen thepolitical document Kulturplanen, created by Region Värmland, as my guideline to whatkind of political view there is on art and cultures role in the region. Furthermore, I havechosen Pierre Bourdieu`s theory about art as a field controlled by and under the influenceof different rules within the filed itself and what or whom has the power to act and be apart of the filed. I also use interviews as my method for this study.

This essay examines computer and video games and their capacity of being useful in teaching sessions. Focus is being put at a possible pedagogical potential and how it is being expressed in games mechanics. To get answers on these subjects? studies by Professor James Paul Gee and Jesse Schell is used together in creating a model for analysis. With this model together with a narrative analysis this essay hopes to give clarifications on if a pedagogical potential is present and if so, how it is being expressed.Studies in this paper shows that a pedagogical potential is overall present in used material.

Grafiska profiler har ofta liknande innehåll men ser självklart olika ut för olika verksamheter och varumärken. En cityförening är ett samarbete mellan flera olika aktörer som vill kommunicera med sina målgrupper och samtidigt förmedla det som föreningen tillsammans står för. Studiens syfte är att ta reda på vad som bör ingå i en grafisk profil för en cityförening och vilka speciella faktorer som finns vid framtagandet av cityföreningars grafiska profiler. För att påvisa möjligheterna till applicering i det som undersökts, används Mjölby City som exempelfall och studien ska generera riktlinjer för Mjölby Citys grafiska profil. För att svara på studiens frågeställningar har en kvalitativ metod används i form av kvalitativa intervjuer och en fokusgrupp i form av en workshop. Intervjuerna har legat till stor vikt vid undersökningen av de speciella faktorerna, då intervjuer har gjorts med företagsrepresentanter som har skapat eller bearbetat grafiska profiler för cityföreningar.

Min analys av verket Listening har fått mig uppmärksam på det jag kallar "vita fältet" i Peter Fries konstverksamhet. Detta är för mig ett abstrakt fält som förekommer allt mer uteslutande i alla Fries verk från 1990-talet fram till idag. Betydelsen av det "vita fältets" allt mer dominerande plats i verket har i min mening förändrat betydelsen av Fries verk som en helhet, dock på olika sätt för olika betraktare under de olika tider de har förekommit. Fries verk har ofta analyserats genom referenser till landskapsmåleri från olika tidsepoker under konsthistorien.Jag vill med min undersökning av detta abstrakta fält visa hur det har tagits upp av konstkritiker och skribenter, men även förmedla en syn på Fries konst vilken inte har landskapsmåleriet som utgångspunkt..

Title: Music and adult identity: A study of how students at Malmö Academy of Music look upon their identity from a musical point of view. This study is about adults and how they look upon their identity from a music perspective. I have interviewed four students between 26 to 29 years old at the Malmö Academy of Music. The purpose with my study is to examine how music has affected the identity of the students as adults and to see if their identity still is affected by music. The interviews have then been analyzed and compared with existing research in this matter.

According to tradition transcribed music is an important part of the repertoar for the classical guitar. Baroque music as well as compositions from the Spanish national romantic era are the two most important sources for transcriptions. My research is aimed at finding answers concerning the relevance of transcribing as well as playing different styles of music on the guitar. Are there any basic rules how these transcriptions should be made? I have chosen to take a closer look at the music of J S Bach as a representative of the baroque period because of the great legacy of his music being played on guitar and lute.
