The purpose of the study was to examine if Talking Mats® couldsupport communication and participation for people with Huntington?sdisease, carers and a dental hygienist in conversation about oral care. Elevendyads, a person with Huntington's disease and a carer, participated.Conversations with and without mats were video recorded and compared.Each participant responded to a questionnaire about how they experiencedthe conversations. Analysis with Effectiveness Framework of FunctionalCommunication showed that two participants increased their communicativeeffectiveness using Talking Mats®. Feelings of participation increased forall participants and were significantly higher for participants withHuntington's disease.

With the development andeasy access of technologies, new ways to create and display information graphics hasemerged. Among them, the animated information graphics, which in the few pastyears appears to have increased in popularity on video sharing websites such asVimeo and Youtube. In the genre of animated information graphics, there seems to bean inherent diversity regarding the design characteristics. In this study we exploredliterature and research on information graphics and related subjects.

För att klara krav på besparingar och effektivisering inom hälso- och sjukvård har dagkirurgi som behandlingsform ökat men även som ett led av ny forskning och utveckling av kirurgiska behandlingsmetoder. Patientens behov av kunskap för att kunna klara egenvården efter ingreppet blir större då vårdtiden är kortare vid dagkirurgi. Den valda metoden är litteraturstudie och syftet var att undersöka hur patienterna uppfattade information vid dagkirurgi. Elva vetenskapliga artiklar är granskade och bearbetade och därigenom har ett resultat framkommit. Informationen har störst genomslagskraft när muntlig och skriftlig alternativt visuell information kombineras.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att studera hur kvinnligheten iscensätts i två av artisten Rihannas musikvideor. Den semiotiska bildanalysen och den radikalfeministiska teorin blev verktygen för att kunna göra denna uppsats möjlig. Detta är en kvalitativ uppsats som gjorts för att skapa en förståelse och en djupgående analys.Rihannas musikvideor ?Pon de Replay? (2005) och ?S&M? (2011) analyserades genom att dela upp dessa två i 10 olika scener per video. Dessa 10 scener blev alltså till stillbilder, som analyserades efter den semiotiska bildanalysen.

Att uppleva oro och ångest inför en operation är vanligt och kan manifestera sig såväl psykologiskt som fysiologiskt hos patienten. Flertalet mätinstrument och omvårdnadsåtgärder existerar, med syfte att finna och lindra oro och ångest. Avsikten med denna systematiska litteraturöversikt var att beskriva omvårdnadsåtgärder för att lindra patienters preoperativa oro och ångest. Genom litteratursökning i sex databaser, bland annat PubMed, CINAHL och Psychinfo, framkom fyra kategorier av interventioner: Att få information via video: Att få skriftlig eller muntlig information: Att lyssna på musik och: Att få känna värme eller beröring. Resultatet visade att samtliga omvårdnadsåtgärder mer eller mindre lindrade oro och ångest, där relationen mellan patient och vårdgivare, och individanpassade interventioner var viktiga, exempelvis då musiksmak hade betydelse, eller att viss information inte var nödvändig.

Today's technology offers a variety of opportunities to interact with the interactive systems. Human-Computer Interaction in the last decade is the area of research that has contributed the most to this development. But how is this interaction perceived? The user experience is something that is formed by the interaction between human and the computer interactive systems. The objective of this thesis is to investigate how the user experience differs depending on how one interacts with a game.

This report describes my degree project. For my degree project I made a demo for a game idea that I've developed, and implemented for use with Xbox 360. The idea was about converting the feeling and gameplay of old 2D side-scrolling platform games into 3D, viewed from a first-person perspective. The Xbox 360 version of the demo was also submitted for the game competition Swedish Game Awards. In the report, I explain this idea more extensive, what software I used to implement it, and how I implemented it. Finally, at the end I clarify the results and discuss fulfilled tasks and future improvements.

The aim writing this essay is to understand and to explain difficulties with communications during sign language interpreting at the Video Relay Service (VRS). Another aim is also to identify the necessery conditions for communications at the VRS and to investigate why difficulties may arise in lack of these necessary conditions. The questions of this essay are: Which are the vital important difficulties in communication at the VRS and why do these difficulties arise?To answer these questions, four sign language interpreters working with the VRS, have been interviewed. These interviews constitute the empirical data of the essay.

This thesis puts focus on Maria Aarts method "Marte meo" (on one's own strength). With the video camera as a principal tool, the purpose of the method is to be a practical working tool to support developmental processes on specific target groups, for example parents and their children. The aim of the thesis was to describe Swedish Marte meo Therapists and Marte meo Supervisors personal- and working experiences of the method, which was introduced in Sweden year 1991. Central questions were: How does Marte meo Therapists describe the essence of the method, it's establishment, development, and future in Swedish social services and psychotherapeutic treatment work? Which are Marte meo Therapists opinions of the methods relation to general problems and issues within social services and psychotherapeutic treatment work, such as the anchorage of theory and practice and the general claim for more research in social services interventions? In order to achieve the aim of the thesis a qualitative study was performed containing semi structured interviews with three Marte meo Therapists (two of them also titled Marte meo Supervisors).

The research in this thesis attempts to understand what happens when children (3-6 years of age) interact with each other in the context of free play in two pre-school settings when adults are not involved. The aim of the study was to get a closer look at how children create relationships and how they protect and defend their interactional spaces. Data was gathered through ethnographically inspired methodology, using video observation to capture the everyday interactions of the children. Results were analyzed using a phenomenological approach to peer cultures. Previous research suggests that it is very important for children to maintain their interactions with peers and gaining access to play.

Detta har sin utgångspunkt i spridningen av Kony 2012.Virala kampanjer är idag en etablerad marknadsföringsstrategi där mottagaren av ett budskap blir aktiv i delningen. Sociala medier har bidragit till att plattformen för att uttrycka sig idag är enklare än någonsin. Hur ser delningskulturen ut för högskolestudenter i Halmstad på Facebook? Vilka attityder ligger till grund hos dessa studenter för valet av att sprida ett budskap, en text eller en video på det sociala nätverket?Studien visar på att delningar på det sociala nätverket Facebook har ett värde för den som delar och även andra användare, men om en användare sprider mycket material kan det som denne sprider uppfattas som mindre intressant av flera utav användarens Facebook-vänner.

We all know that water is very important for both animals and humans. When we are weaning the piglets from the sow we must guarantee that the piglets can start to drink more water instead of sow milk. The first thing to check is always the quality of the water that is to be used. To secure that, you must take a water sample. If the water is inadequate it can bring a lot of problems and diseases.

Modern milk production have come a long way when it comes to accommodating the nutritional and physiological needs of the animals, but unfortunately the behavioural and psychological needs of cows and heifers are often left unfulfilled. A long time for eating is beneficial for the digestion and also gives the cattle something to do and decreases the risks for developing abnormal behaviours. An important factor that influences eating- and ruminating time is the particle size of the roughage. The aim of the study was to find out if particle size influences the behaviour of dairy heifers, in particular with regard to eating behaviour and abnormal behaviours. The study was conducted at Uddetorp farm high school in Skara. Forty-two heifers of the breeds SR and SF were housed in 8 slatted floor pens.

Information about vibration injuries as a preventive measure is beneficial to society as well as the individual. As early as after a few years work with machines that vibrate can cause young sensitive persons to develop vibration injuries.An evaluation has been done on a web page with focus on information about work related vibration injuries. As a part of the evaluation a user observation and interview study was performed with workers who worked in different occupations. The workers all used machine that vibrate as part of the work. A total of eleven workers participated in the study.
