The initiative for this project was taken by Benteler Engineering Services, as a result of having identified areas of improvement, in designated accessible areas like the wheelchair spot onboard buses. Depending on a wheelchair to be able to move around can understandably be challenging.Public transport is a common good in today`s society, however despite the measures taken towards adjusting to accessible needs, the majority of those being disabled chose different alternatives of transportation. This is due to reasons such as the drivers' poor attitude, furthermore the limitations of the space allocated to accessible needs, as people with strollers also use these spots onboard. Also, some wheelchair users find the rides unsafe, as they could easily fall over during without the appropriate space for them onboard the buses etc. These are only a few reasons why other options are sought out, i.e.

This report examines the industrialization of a newly developed household machine on behalf of Technogarden Engineering Resources in Karlstad, Sweden. The report is a part of the final course in the Bachelor Program in Mechanical Engineering at Karlstad University and takes place in spring 2014.An innovator, an investor and a engineering consultant firm have through collaboration developed a new type of gruel machine. The product is in its final stage of construction and is planned to be manufactured in a production located in Sweden, autumn of 2014.To compete against today?s trend in outsourcing manufacturing to low cost countries for better profitability, the industrialization of the gruel machine must be done with a minimum amount of resources in order to become successful, which also describes the problem of this study. Using pre-study material in form of Lean production literature, visiting a successful production site and gathering data from involved engineers a specification was developed which describes what this industrialization must achieve and which requests can be accomplished.

The object under investigation in this Master?s thesis is students? information use in connection to Bachelor thesis writing. The purpose of the study is to increase understanding of why nursing students and product engineering design students are using information in such different ways despite their comparable starting point. The empirical material consists of 18 student theses and a document comprising directives for thesis writing that are analysed from three different theoretical perspectives. A citation analysis of all 18 theses is carried out.

Detta examensarbete är resultatet av en utredning av produktionsbegränsningar och produktutveckling på Volvo Construction Equipment AB Component Division i Eskilstuna. Produktionssystemet på Volvo CE genomgår en stor förändring då det går från att fungera som en funktionell verkstad till att bli flödesinriktat. Detta gör att helt nya krav ställs på produkternas konstruktion och utformning. Det är nu inte möjligt att anpassa maskinerna eller operationsföljderna efter artikeln i samma utsträckning som tidigare, man kommer att vara tvungen att anpassa artiklarna efter produktionslinan. Därav har en litteraturstudie inom Concurrent Engineering gjorts som belyser hur man bör jobba som organisation och vilka verktyg man har till sitt förfogande, för att utveckla produktionsvänliga produkter.

Bakgrund: Produktutvecklingsprocessen har på senare tid kommit att ses som en strategisk aktivitet som är avgörande för företagets överlevnad eftersom produktens utförande och kostnader till stor del fastställs innan tillverkning påbörjas. ?Target Costing? har sitt ursprung från Toyota i Japan och är en metod för strategisk kostnadsstyrning som har vuxit fram för att tidigt styra kostnader. Metoden används för att integrera kostnadsstyrning i produktutvecklingsprocessen i samstämmighet med kundkrav och företagets egna vinstkrav.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva och analysera hur ?Target Costing? används i produktutvecklingsprocessen på Volvo Construction Equipment i Braås för att ge kunskap till nya potentiella användare.

Title: Kvarteret Tvättstugan, an apartment building with massive wood construction. A thesis about acoustic and fire requirements and a comparison of energy and moisture aspects. Earlier restrictions in the Swedish legislation have resulted that only a small percentage of the apartment buildings that have been built are designed with a massive wood construction. It has been allowed to build unrestricted with wood since 1994 as long as the function of requirements are fulfilled. This change in the rules together with the great environmental benefits of wood has led to that more companies choose to build apartment buildings with wood. One of these companies is Folkhem Production AB.

A number of studies have been made to examine several aspects of voice production in individuals with different types of hearing impairments. Most of the studies were made to explore the impact that hearing aids have for people with severe or congenital hearing impairment. So far it has been confirmed that there are changes regarding voice production in these individuals. A group that has not been investigated regarding voice production to a larger extent are hearing aid users with an acquired hearing impairment. In the present study the voice production of seven individuals, four men and three women, with a moderate acquired hearing impairment is examined.

The environment has become an important part in people´s lives, and in today´s society stakeholders demands have increased upon companies when it comes to sustainability reports. How these sustainability reports are designed depends on whom it?s for, laws and regulations, and the companies own norms and values. The purpose of sustainability reports is to measure, monitor and compare a company´s enviromental impact. It?s not only about integrating economics, but also enviromental and social standards together to get both financial and competitive advantages.Sustainable Value method is a new model and is the first real method that can be used to evaluate a company´s resources, both financial, social and enviromental to a sustainable value.This model is used to compare the resource efficiency between companies.In this thesis, a documentary study with an experimental approach has been made.Sustainability reports from six selected companies (in the engineering and forestry sector) have been investigated with respect to their accounting for carbon dioxide, and an experiment using the method ?Sustainable Value Approach? was subsequently performed.

This bachelor thesis is intended to point out differences within the supervisors? role and contribute in making the role more attractive. At present the information about how the supervisors? perspective varies on the supervisors? role and the introduction to it depending on work experience and education is unknown. Further it was investigated why the supervisors? role is seen as an entrance to the building industry and how to develop the role to encourage the supervisors to stay longer within it.In the collection of data we have been interviewing supervisors and studying literature.

RISKfree ? ett system för riskhantering inom programvaruprojektI dagens IT-centrerade värld sker utvecklingen av hårdvara och programvara i en rasande takt. Om ett företag skall ha möjlighet att vara konkurrenskraftigt i denna utvecklingstakt, krävs det snabba och effektiva metoder i utvecklingsprocessen. Dessa krav från omvärlden på nya och mer komplexa produkter och tjänster innebär ofta nya och större risker för ett utvecklingsprojekt; både ekonomiska som tidsmässiga.Analyser av programvaruprojekt som har misslyckats visar att många av deras problem och risker kunde ha undvikits eller åtminstone drastiskt reducerats med hjälp av riskhantering. Oftast är det en optimistisk entusiasm över projektet som överskuggar viktiga varningssignaler om risker och problem enligt B.W.

En billig och robust motor av stirlingtyp har konstruerats för användning i villor. Som energikälla används de heta rökgaserna från förbränningen i husets panna. Motorn driver en generator i permanent drift under den kalla delen av året då värme- och energiförbrukningen är som störst i vårt land. Under den varma årstiden finns den tillgänglig som reservkraftverk. Tanken är att stirlingmotorns värmare ska placeras i en villapanna för att ta till vara exergipotentialen hos dess höga temperatur.

Målet med detta arbete är att undersöka och analysera en byggnad från miljonprogrammet i Helsingborg göra gällande energiberäkningar. Dessa beräkningar ska mynna ut i olika förslag till hur man skulle kunna styra upp en renovering av dessa byggnader så att de uppfyller de nya energikraven samt skapa en mer tilltalande estetisk byggnad..

Vibrationsrelaterade problem tenderar att bli mer och mer uppmärksammade, inte bara inom byggindustrin där många handverktyg används, utan även inom transportväsendet. En fordonsförare som under större delen av sin arbetsdag kör på ibland väldigt ojämna vägar, utsätts för skadliga nivåer som man inte alltid tänker på. Detta examensarbete kommer att behandla utvecklingsprocessen för ett system som kan överföra data från en vibrationsmätare till en mobiltelefon för analys och presentation av mätvärden. Genom att använda sig av detta system kan fordonsföraren lättare hålla koll på vad han utsätter sig för under en arbetsdag. Detta torde leda till en lägre vibrationsexponering bland annat genom en försiktigare körning, något som i slutändan kommer att gynna även eventuella passagerare.

The earmould acoustics affect the amplification that the hearing aid is programmed to give to its user. It is therefore important that the choices made for the earmould are correctly done. One choice is regarding the shape of the soundbore that affects the frequency response of the hearing aid above a certain cut-off frequency. The purpose of this project was to measure the frequency response when altering the shape of the soundbore in the earmould. Additionally, the aim was to examine how the frequency response is affected when the shape of the soundbore is not set or is not possible to set in the software when programming the hearing aid.

Utvecklingen av informationssystem utförs vanligen med hjälp av en systemutvecklingsmodell där kravhanteringsaktivitetens (Requirements Engineering ? RE-processen) syfte är att samla in och bearbeta kundens alla krav på systemet. Den slutliga produkten av RE-processen är en kravspecifikation där alla kraven gällande exempelvis systemets funktionalitet, syfte etc skall specificeras.Det är inte alltid självklart vilken information som en kravspecifikation bör innehålla då detta dokument kan för både kunden och leverantören ses som ett kvitto på vad som skall utvecklas och hur det skall gå till. Dokumentet skall nämligen fungera som ett underlag för de så kallade implementations- och designaktiviteterna i systemutvecklingsarbetet samt fungera som ett underlag för diskussion och kontrakt mellan leverantör och kund gällande utvecklingen av informationssystemet. Kravspecifikationen bör därför innehålla komplett och förståelig information så att detta dokument uppfyller sina syften.
