The aim of the study was to describe the oral health development among patients at the Public Dental Care clinic in Bromölla who made an agreement regarding Healthy Dental Care during the years 2001 and 2004, compared with patients who did not made such an agreement. The study material was obtained from dental journals in total at 150 patients. Data regarding age, sex, health status, tobacco use, plaque- and gingivitis values, pocket depht, initial- and manifest caries, risk assessments, preventive measures by dental personel and acute dental care between year 2001 and 2004 was obtained from dental results. Almost twice as many man made an agreement compared to women. Tobacco use was higher in control group both 2001 and 2004.

Sammanfattning Park och Naturförvaltningen i Göteborg har tagit fram en parkplan för Biskopsgården där man pekar på en möjlig utveckling av närområdet runt sjön Svarte Mosse. Mitt mål med detta examensarbete har varit att utifrån en förståelse för de lokala förhållandena utveckla ett program med kriterier för hur området skulle kunna utvecklas samt göra ett förslag på gestaltning. Efterforskningar bland olika källor gav ett generellt svar på vad som är en bra park. Genom att studera statistik, dagstidningar och prata med boende i stadsdelen så konstaterar jag att det karaktäristiska för Norra Biskopsgården är resurssvaghet, trångboddhet, hög otrygghet och en stor andel unga. Detta tror jag sammanfattningsvis gör utemiljön viktigare i så kallade utsatta områden. Jag valde att arbeta med ett grönområde som angränsar till en typ av stadsstruktur som har blivit kraftigt kritiserat för utemiljön. Därför valde jag att göra en bakgrundstudie av modernistiska förorter.

Arvika Fastighets AB is a municipal subsidiary tasked with managing all green areas in the municipality, with a strong focus on the City Park and plant beds in the city centre. These areas generate large amounts of green waste, which is currently transported to the municipality's composting area at Lycke. Currently, the material is piled up and turned once a year without using the resulting soil for flowerbeds, lawns, and shrub/tree plantings. The purpose of the study is to determine if Arvika can compost the green waste in a more efficient manner and produce weed-free soil ready to be mixed into various substrates for different purposes. Interviews with the Swedish Church and several municipalities in Sweden have been conducted to learn from their experiences and knowledge of how they make their composting work.

Rekreation har flera definitioner, i denna studie används definitionen "återhämtning i en stärkande miljö". Idag vet vi att grönska i staden har en stor betydelse för människors hälsa och livskvalitet, och rekreation i utemiljö är en viktig del av stadsbornas möjlighet att återhämta sig från vardagens stress och krav. De finns flera teorier kring innebörden av rekreation, både inom psykologin, medicin och landskapsarkitekturens forskning. Ämnet miljöpsykologi behandlar frågor som berör människans relation till sin närmiljö och miljöns påverkan på människan. Denna studie behandlar rekreationsvärden i park och grönområde, den gör ett försök att ta reda på vilka dessa rekreationsvärden är och var de finns. I projektet Green Space Award (GSA) finns ett intresse för att lyfta fram parker och naturområden med en god kvalitet när det kommer till funktion och organisation, genom att tilldela de som uppnår kriterierna priset GSA. Målet med denna studie var att hitta ett passande verktyg som skulle kunna identifiera och bedöma dessa kvaliteter utifrån kriteriet rekreation. Som exempel på verktyg för bedömning och värdering av park och grönområdens rekreationsvärde testas Patrik Grahns åtta parkkaraktärer (Grahn, 2005).

Biodiversity consists of all life on Earth and in all forms. Biodiversity is often discussed at three levels: ecosystem, species and genetic variation within species. Biodiversity also provides many of the ecosystem services performed by nature and that we depend on, including cultural services such as aesthetic values, education and recreation. In Sweden the environmental objectives are central; there are 16 environmental quality objectives, and "A rich plant and animal life" is one of them. Conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity is a prerequisite for achieving also most other environmental objectives. Another environmental quality objective that is tied to a rich biodiversity in cities and biodiversity is "Good built environment" where cities, towns and other built environment should provide a good living habitat and contribute to a good environment.

Att växa inåt, eller att förtäta, är något som man i många städer strävar efter. En av dem är Malmö som i sin nya översiktsplan, ÖP2012, lägger mycket fokus på just förtätning. Det är ett viktigt steg ifrån den funktionsuppdelade till den blandade staden och kan innebära både miljömässiga, sociala och ekonomiska fördelar. Exempelvis genom att resurser samutnyttjas bättre, färre transporter, större trygghet, bättre integration och större attraktivitet. En ogenomtänkt förtätning kan dock innebära negativa konsekvenser.

Ronneby torg är beläget centralt i Ronneby stadskärna i sydöstra Blekinge. På denna plats går det att identifiera tre problem som utgör brist på människor (social hållbarhet), rumslighet (mötesplats) och vegetation (ekologisk hållbarhet). Tidigare har torgets södra del innefattat en stadspark vid namn ?Gröna Torget? medan hela torget idag utgörs av en hårdgjord yta med inslag av träd i dess kanter. Det finns ett behov från Ronneby kommun att utveckla torget som en mötesplats, då kommunen utlyst en förslagstävling av just denna anledning.

This is an essay about gated communities and their impact on society. The key questions of my essay are: why people choose to live in gated communities; how the city is impacted by gated communities and what the difference concerning the reasons and impact of gated communities in Florida and Sweden is, and what this difference might depend on. I am using postmodern urbanism as a starting point, and I look closer on Edward J. Soja?s theories about the postmodern metropolis.

Vi har som examnesarbete utformat en informationsbroschyr åt Munktell Science Park (MSP), med hjälp av god textdesign har vi förmedlat MSP:s koncept till en bred målgrupp. Vi har haft fokus på texterna då det redan fanns en grafisk manual. This master project in landscape architecture is named Interactivation Design - places for social imagination and conversation in Lindängelund. There are two main purposes of this thesis the first being to bring forth a study of interactivity implemented in the subject of landscape architecture. The second purpose of this thesis is to present a proposal to design a confluent landscape weaving together the upcoming botanical garden of Lindängelund and the residential area of Almvik, both situated in southern Malmö, Sweden, and also weaves people and their experiences together. This project may be described as investigative and experimentative reaserch by design.The first part of this project, Interactivation, is consisting of a theoretical report which discusses different ways of approaching when, how and why we interact in public space. Literature studies in for example space, placemaking, social life, people, participation and Japanese emptiness concepts has been undertaken to gain knowledge in the aim to create interactive landscape design.The second part, Context and Design Proposal, introduces the project context area of Southern Fosie in Malmö which consists of different kinds of residential areas, people of different nationalities and a large building site for a botanical garden and recreational area.

During the winter 2011 Isaksson and Andersson did a time budget study on Nordens Ark?s Przewalskis horses during daytime when there were visitors and caretakers in the park. This time budget study was made during daytime and when there were no visitors or caretakers in the park. The horses where observed in the morning (5.30-6.30 am) and in the evening (5.45-6.45 pm) during four days. In addition to a time budget, the horses? positions in the enclosure were registered.

I dagens samhälle sker en förtätning av staden och det är ofta på bekostnad av grönytorna då det anses att de inte blir tillräckligt använda (Grahn, 1991, s. 6). Men det är samtidigt bevisat att man mår bättre av att vistas i naturen än bland bebyggelsen i staden. Speciellt stor effekt har naturen för återhämtning från stress (Sahlin, 2010, s. 29).

The aim of this study was to describe non-surgical treatment options for the diseases mucositis and peri-implantitis found in present literature. The literature review also illustrates the effect of the treatment opptions on soft tissue with mucositis and peri-implantitis surrounding dental implants. The study reviews twelve scientific articles that have been processed from the aim of the study. The result shows six therapy options, Er:YAG laser, air abrasive, ultrasonic device, hand instruments, hand instruments in combination with antibiotics and hand instruments in combination with clorhexidin. The following methods are described according to how they are used and how they affect the soft tissue surrounding dental implants.
