Språkets betydelse- Nyanlända invandrarelever i den svenska skolan : Mottagande-Kartläggning-Integration
Syftet med denna studie är att belysa språkets betydelse vid integrering av nyanlända invandrarelever. Jag har undersök hur vida eleverna uppfattar sitt mottagande i den svenska skolan och hur eller om lärare kartlägger elevens språk- och kunskapsutveckling. Resultaten är baserade på information från personintervjuer och hur denna information korrelerar med min valda teori. Jag använde ett teoretiskt ramverk av Lev Semjonovitj Vygotskij som är en erkänd pedagogisk teoretiker. Resultaten av min studie visar att svaren från mina intervjuer stämmer väl överens med min valda teori: att omgivning och utveckling går hand i hand.
Ensamkommande barns integration : en kvalitativ studie av socialarbetares erfarenheter
Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka socialarbetares förståelse av ensamkommande barns integration i det svenska samhället och de tillvägagångssätt olika aktörer, däribland socialarbetare, har när de arbetar med detta. Metoden som vi valde att använda var kvalitativ intervju och för att analysera resultaten använde vi oss av systemteori och empowerment. Resultaten visar att språk, skola och en meningsfull fritid var viktiga delar för barnens integration i samhället. Socialarbetarna i vår studie uppgav att de inte arbetar praktiskt med barnens integration, att det är boendepersonalen/familjehemmet och de gode männen som ansvarar för detta. Viktiga slutsatser i studien var att intresset för de ensamkommande barnen var svagt från samhällets sida och att socialarbetarna ansåg att de dokument som används inte alltid var anpassade för de ensamkommande barnen.
Cyborglandskap : landskapet, människan och teknologin
By using the cyborg as a structural tool to analyze certain aspects of human interaction with what can be perceived as landscape or landscape architectural elements, this thesis seeks to explore the concept of the cyborg landscape in order to place human practice in the context of postmodern ideas of the end of true nature. Ever since human kind has externalized evo-lution by using tools and extending the body with technological inventions, we have also taken our surroundings out of their natural trajectory. Everything we do that is conditioned by the use of technology is altering that which we perceive as nature and natural. Since we have been doing this for millennia we have of course also altered our surroundings by the influence of technology.This thesis uses three examples of landscape or landscape architectural elements that are conditioned by the integration of technology to explore this practice through a postmodern model of analysis based on the concept and basic premises of the cyborg, or the cybernetic organism. A cybernetic organism is in short an organism that has functioning technological parts integrated into its system.
"Hej, jag heter..." -en diskursiv studie om svenska för invandrare (sfi) i integrationsprocessen
The aim of this paper is to make an investigation of how authoritative conceptual framework about immigrants as a group is being constituted in the discourse regarding Swedish language for immigrants. I will also examine what connections there are to the overarching integration discourse. While doing this I try to establish the contrasting relationship between the ?Swedishness? and ?the Other?. My theoretical framework consists of discussions regarding groups and the relation to homogeneity or heterogeneity in various ways and how We tend to construct the discourse in relation to the Other.
Europeisering och politisk integration av nationella politiska partier : En studie av Vänsterpartiets och Miljöpartiets utveckling i synen på det europeiska samarbetet 1987-2010
This paper examines if European integration has had an impact on national political parties by looking at the stances of the Swedish Green Party and the Left Party on the issue of the European Community and the European Union over time. With the development of the European Community and the European Union, national political parties face the challenge of an emerging political arena. European integration research has recently become more involved with what is called europeanization and political integration within the member states them self, this paper aims to provide further leverage to the thesis that national political actors undergo some degree of europeanization and are politically integrated in the EU, by examining manifestos of two historically eurosceptic Swedish political parties. The theoretical framework provided by neo-functional integration theory as well as europeanization is used to examine the empirical material in order to see if the political parties at the focal point of this study can be said to have undergone a change in political policy regarding the EC and EU, both in quantity and content. The analysis show that indeed both parties has undergone a change and what might be considered a europeanization, considering that the presence of the EU as a political issue seem to have risen in prominence and importance in the examined manifestos.
Den oavsiktliga konsekvensen : En uppsats om integrationen av ensamkommande flyktingungdomar
This thesis in sociology was based on a qualitative research strategy. Its intention was to analyze how a specific county in the middle of Sweden work to make the integration process of the unaccompanied refugee youths, with a Swedish residence permit, as good as possible, the other intention was to find out the possible following of this work.Interviews were done and statistics were found, this later on became analyzed together with the theories. The basic theories were integration and class theory.The mainly finding in this study was that that the integration of the unaccompanied refugee children leads them into a lower society class of the Swedish community. This since these youth are more of less forced to follow some steps in the education, which for many of them will lead to that they are too old to apply to the national gymnasium in Sweden, and therefore they only get education though the introduction program, which is not leading to a graduation from the gymnasium. Because of this they are not getting the same chances to succeed with the same kind of education as youth on other programs in the Swedish gymnasium..
"Vi" och "Dem" -en studie beträffande identitetskonstruktionsprocesser hos invandrade män i samband med integration i Helsingborg
To create fair conditions between majority and minority in Sweden is a challeging project. Male immigrants usually do not get same opportunities for a success identity structure and integration into Swedish society as women and children. The aim of this thesis is therefore to critically examine and analyse the processes regarding identity structure and integration for male immigrants with a specific focus on Helsingborg. The object of this study is Mansgrupp, a project which helps men to build up a secure ground for identity structure and which further helps them to integrate into the society. To be able to reach the results I have made a literature study as well as a minor field study in Helsingborg, where I conducted interviews with men from the above mentioned project.
Integration, assimilation eller segregation? -en undersökning av integrationspolitiken i Landskrona
In this thesis I discuss and analyze the integration policy of the community Landskrona, if they have any at all and how they in that case use it in their daily work to counteract the obvious problems with segregation, racism and negative attitudes towards people with other ethnic background than Swedish.During the second half of the 20th century Sweden has received a lot of immigrants who built our country and contributed to the rich variety of people we see today. Landskrona was one of the towns who received a lot according to its size, and with the economic crisis in the 1990s it was easy to blame the immigrants for our own deteriorated situation.Today Landskrona is working for an implementation of integration policies in all institutions and organizations to make it a matter of course just like equality. Ensemblespel : Ett socialt redskap främjar såväl interaktion som integration
Being an immigrant in a Swedish school today might not be easy. It´s quite difficult to be accepted and becoming a part of an already functioning group. Difficulties with the Swedish language doesn´t make it easier. Besides that the requisites of the school curriculum program are very demanding and Swedish students are often in advantage already being a part of the system for many years.By following five immigrant boys in grade 6 during ten ensemble lessons, one concert and individual interviews with the boys as well as with their teacher, this study aims to investigate how ensemble playing can function as a social tool and promote interaction as well as integration.The results in this study show that ensemble playing in fact can function as a social tool. The boys developed abilities in playing an instrument as well as cooperating and analyzing by using the social tool of ensemble playing.The results even show that ensemble playing can promote interaction as well as integration.Above everything was the concert where the boys acted in front of their classmates and were treated with great respect and acceptance..
Ljusa svenskar och mörka blattar : gymnasiestudenters tankar kring svenskar, invandrare och integration
Sverige är ett mångkulturellt land och det finns intentioner till integration i samhället och dess olika instanser. Skolan är en instans där barn, ungdomar och vuxna med olika bakgrund möts. Studenter med svensk bakgrund och studenter med utländsk bakgrund agerar inom skolan och det sker en kategorisering av studenterna i kategorierna svenskar och invandrare. Syftet med studien är att lyfta fram och tolka gymnasiestudenters tankar kring begreppen svenskar, invandrare och integration. Ett delsyfte är att genomföra en prövning av flödesskrivning som metod.
Integrationens villovägar : En kvalitativ studie om hur personal på HVB-hem för ensamkommande barn beskriver barnens integration i samhället.
This study discloses Swedish human service organizations and their methods of integrating unaccompanied children into the Swedish society. The purpose of the study is to investigate how social workers at HVB-homes for unaccompanied children depict their experience in and knowledge of how the unaccompanied children are integrated into Swedish society. The method of investigating the questions raised by the purpose of this thesis has been qualitative analysis of answers derived from interviewing personnel at HVB-homes for unaccompanied children. In doing so we have made use of a semi-structured method of interviewing the above-mentioned personnel. The data derived from these interviews has thereafter been analysed and filtered through the concept of integration and the theoretical formations human service organizations and street-level bureaucrats.
Integration ? en kvalitativ studie av hur vuxna i skolans värld arbetar med att öka toleransen mellan elever från olika kulturer
Syftet med arbetet är att ge exempel på hur yrkesverksamma pedagoger och andra vuxna inom skolans värld arbetar med integration och tolerans mellan elever från olika kulturer. Detta ger vi ett antal exempel på i litteraturgenomgången och sedan kompletterar vi dessa exempel genom en empirisk undersökning, där pedagoger och vuxna i skolans värld intervjuades om hur de arbetar med integration.I litteraturgenomgången ges också en kortfattad överblick över hur invandrares situation i Sverige, gällande integration, har förändrats under de senaste 50-60 åren och några olika typer av kulturkrockar.En kvalitativ undersökning genomfördes i form av intervjuer, som först spelades in på band och som därefter transkriberades och sammanfattades.Resultaten visar att man kan arbeta på flera olika sätt för att öka toleransen mellan olika kulturer, bl.a. genom att arbeta med värdegrundsfrågor och utvecklandet av språkkunskaperna i svenska. Vår tolkning är den att integration är ett område som man, behöver arbeta med i ett långtidsperspektiv. Detta oavsett vilka nationaliteter som är representerade i barngruppen..
Konrad Adenauers Europasyn. En idéanalys av memoarerna
This essay seeks to gain understanding on the thoughts of Konrad Adenauer regarding the future of Europe in the post-WWII era, and European integration in particular. The material used is his memoirs, which gives an insight into the part of his thought that he chose to share with the rest of the world. The essay uses an analytical framework of three theories, popular within the academic discipline of international relations: realism, liberalism and constructivism. The conclusion it draws is that none of the theories can in a satisfying way describe Adenauer?s thoughts, but rather that they all in some way describe certain elements of his thoughts.
"Plötsligt var världen här" : Bibliotek och integration i tre Stockholmsförorter
The aim of this two years master thesis in Library and Information Science is to examine how librarians and library managers in the three Stockholm suburbs of Alby, Fisksätra and Rinkeby think and reason about the role of public libraries in the integration process. The aim is also to examine whether their perception differ from that of local politicians at the municipal level. The theoretical framework is Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hanses model for analysis of the local library profile, and Jose Alberto Diaz theory on the integration process. The method used is qualitative interviews. The interviews were recorded and the content was analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The results of this study show that the library services in the three suburbs, rather than being stipulated by the legal demand for special services towards immigrants, are based on the needs of the local population.
Integrationen av Invandrare : En diskursanalytisk studie
Det övergripande syftet med uppsatsen har varit att analysera och beskriva diskursiva sätt att framställa integrationen av invandrare i den del av den offentliga debatten som förs i svensk massmedia. För att göra detta har jag tagit min teoretiska utgångspunkt i Laclau och Mouffes diskursteoretiska diskursanalys.Integration artikuleras i artiklarna som fullständig likhet, delvis likhet och deltagande samt som ensidig/ömsesidig och total/delvis anpassning.
