Vallentuna municipality in Stockholm County, is planning to develop a management plan for a forest area owned by the municipality. The property is an urban forest and the hiking trail Roslagsleden runs through it. Hence the municipality intends to take extra care of the outdoor recreation interests, as well as forest biodiversity, but at the same time use the area for forestry. This study discusses how these three interests, recreation, biodiversity and forestry, differ in their views of how a forest should be managed, where they disagree and how they can coexist in the management of this area. In this study, a vegetation mapping of the area and an assessment of the forest?s conservation values was carried out.

The intention of this final thesis is to examine how to create a schoolyard that inspires children at the age of 6 ? 12 years to play and give them possibility to develop. To get a lot of knowledge in this subject, I have combined studies of literature with practical studies at Hosjöskolan in Falun. During my practical studies I have done interviews, walks in the area with the children and visited other schoolyards. I have based a design proposal for the schoolyard of Hosjöskolan on these studies.

Denna kandidatuppsats behandlar wayshowing i en 3D-modell av Visualiseringscenter C, Norrköping. Syftet är att undersöka olika sätt att göra skyltar i virtuell miljö och vilket sätt som är mest lättarbetat för användaren som ska skapa dessa skyltar.Uppsatsen utgår från teori om wayshowing och om hur en bra skylt ska se ut för att uppfylla sitt syfte. Med hjälp av denna teori har skyltar skapats i en 3D-miljö. Det insamlade materialet som resultaten är baserade på kommer från två strukturerade observationer och en intervju. Deltagaren och observatören i observationerna var författaren själv och under intervjun hördes en student med liknande erfarenheter kring grafisk design och 3D som författaren.I observationerna testades två sätt att skapa skyltar; ett sätt där texturen gjordes innan skyltarna tillverkades i 3D-miljön och ett sätt där texturen gjordes efter det att skyltarna hade tillverkats i 3D- miljön.

Sammanfattning Eftsom kalla Sverige blir mörkt ganska tidigt på kvällen på höst, vinter och vår ville jag se hur man kunde förlänga användandet av det lilla trädgårdsrummet både i tid på dygnet och i tid på säsongen. Jag tycker att ljussättning är en viktig del av gestaltningen, belysningen gör trädgården levande. Mitt syfte med arbetet var att skaffa mig grundläggande kunskap om ljussättning och ljuskällor, för att sedan skissa på koncept för det lilla trädgårdsrummet. För att lyckas med detta behövde jag ta reda vad ljus är och hur det fungerar. Ljuset har många olika egenskaper, t ex olika våglängder, och färger.

During thousands of years, reindeer have adapted to living under harsh conditions with large seasonal variations in climate and forage availability. This adaptation implies that body functions and nourishment needs are strongly bound to the season. In the summer the reindeer has to maximize food intake to build up fat and protein reserves for the winter. More than 200 different plant species are included in the reindeer diet, but since reindeer have an unique ability to use the nourishment in lichen, different lichen species make up a large portion of their winter diet in many areas. Fundamental for reindeer husbandry is access to natural grazing during most of the year.

This paper is a critique of the hegemonic democracy ideal in France today, the myth of the Republic. Based on critical theory, the paper also contains a normative attempt giving the chance to subaltern groups to tell their, less often heard, version of the "truth".The theoretical foundation is the ontological narrative perspective, where identities and actions are understood as being constructed by the telling of stories. The interdependent relations of different narrative dimensions are analyzed. The power over who gets to tell the story of the "truth" is understood as decided in the interaction by dimensions of metanarrativity, public narratives, ontological narratives and conceptual narrativity. The author argues, inspired by Chantal Mouffe, that consensus is an illusion based on exclusion of those that differ.

Botanist Kjell-Arne Olsson inventoried the plant fen ragwort Senecio paludosus 1983 in Scania andfound a big number of locations within Biosphere Reserve Kristianstad Vattenrike. In 2012, a reinventoryof the 1983 survey was carried out to study whether there has been any change in the fenragwort population in Kristianstad Vattenrike since the last inventory. The results show that therehas been no overall change in the number of fen ragwort in Kristianstad Vattenrike, on certainpremises they have increased in number while in others they have fallen. However, the inventoryshows that almost half of the locations with fen ragwort have disappeared during the same period.The main reason for this is that fen ragwort did not manage to competitive with other vegetation,taking in consideration this has been smaller premises with young plants. In addition to competitionother factors such as prolonged high water, grazing and caterpillars from Tyria jacobaeaecontributed to the decrease.

På Storängen i Söderköping bygger Bygg GG i Norrköping i samarbete med G Gunnarsons Fastighets AB ett hus innehållande 14 ägarlägenheter. Då försäljningen av lägenheterna startade innan huset var färdigt bestod den största delen av säljunderlaget av ritningar och skisser.Syftet med examensarbetet var att utföra en visualisering av det blivande husets yttre i form av en digital 3d-modell samt att visa hur några av de blivande lägenheterna skulle komma att se ut. Då många av lägenheterna i huset liknar varandra togs beslutet att visualisera tre av husets lägenheter.Rapporten beskriver hur arbetet med att ta fram visualiseringen genomförts. Den ger även en inblick i visualiseringsprocessen samt de programvaror som använts för projektet.Projektet kan delas in i två delar. En exteriör del och en interiör del.I den exteriöra delen byggdes en 3d-modell av huset i 3d-programmet Google SketchUp som är ett lättanvänt program för att skapa digitala skisser och 3d-modeller.

An attempt were made to record the 1st movement of Beethoven?s Op. 57, with the objective of performing it as close to Beethoven?s will as possible, in the tradition of the ?historically informed performance? movement.The result of evaluating source material rendered a list of the most relevant material for this study, and hopefully that might prove useful for other studies with similar objective concering HIP and composer-intention based ?autenticity?.However, Beethoven?s will was only vaguely captured in the limited source material accounted for in this study, rendering it moderate-to-small reliability. It?s probably possible to achieve a higher degree of goal achievement, given more time and through the utilization of music psychology to further extrapolate the detailed parameters of Beethoven?s presumed extramusical will.The recording made was not to my satisfaction and has strengthened my view that the interpreter should take council from the collected knowledge of scholarly sources but must ultimately remain free in whether and how to utilize that knowledge.Lastly, I?ve measured the bpm in the resulting recording with a error margin of ±0,02 s.

In recent years, moisture damages have been noticed in rendered, undrained stud walls. The design is built on the principle one-stage tightening which means that there is no air gap in the construction. The damages have occurred when water has permeated through the rendering in leaking connections and fittings for windows, doors, canopies, balconies, terraces and awnings. Behind the plaster carrier, which consists of either polystyrene or rigid mineral wool, plasterboard has often been used as a wind protection barrier. In many cases the wind protection barrier and the underlying wooden studs have been exposed to mould and in some cases even rot.

Cattle used for meat production can be held outside all year round and due to the legislation they should have access to shelters or other buildings for protection against the elements giving them a dry and clean bedding. There are different opinions concerning their need of protection and the question about necessity of shelters for cattle is of current interest due to a less profitable economy in meat production and the investment costs for shelters. The aim of this study was to acquire more knowledge about the natural behaviour of cattle concerning their use of shelters. The basis of the study was a series of questions regarding when animals choose to stay in shelters, if shelters were used less when they had access to protecting vegetation, how temperature and weather conditions affected the use of shelters and the influence of distance between shelter and feed. Behavioural studies was conducted at five different farms where six groups of suckler cows and heifers of following breeds and crossbreeds were observed; Aberdeen Angus, Charolais, Hereford, Scottish Highland Cattle, Simmental and the Swedish breeds SKB and SRB.

Vi har i detta examensarbete valt att lägga fokus på utomhusmiljön vid fyra förskolor i Mellansverige och hur den används som ett pedagogiskt verktyg samt ur ett utvecklingsperspektiv hos barn i förskolan. Det finns mycket forskning kring inomhusmiljön och dess betydelse för barns utveckling och lärande men väldigt lite kring utomhusmiljön och hur barn kan stimuleras till sin egen utveckling i utomhusaktiviteter, vilket vi nu valt att undersöka och diskutera i detta examensarbete. Vi menar att det finns potential att utnyttja utomhusmiljön på ett liknande sätt som den miljö som finns inomhus på förskolan. Vårt syfte är att ta reda på förskollärarnas tankar kring den utomhusmiljö som idag finns på den förskola de arbetar på och hur den används. Vi diskuterar olika fenomen som påverkar barns utveckling och vi vill därmed lyfta olika begrepp och som är relevanta i sammanhanget.

Ändamålet med detta examensarbete har varit att ta fram ett gestaltningsförslag för en cirkulationsplats i Uddevalla i linje med kommunens slogan Hjärtat i Bohuslän. Ett syfte har också varit att utifrån ett Bohuslänskt växtmaterial skapa en attraktiv vägmiljö med mål att minska de skötselinsatser som i dagsläget krävs. Litteraturstudier har genomförts och informationen har legat till grund för platsens utformning. Här är havsstranden den främsta huvudmiljön i förslaget och de vegetationstyper som ansetts mest relevanta för gestaltningen har stått som inspirationskälla. Litteraturen har delats upp och riktats inom de områden som ansetts mest väsentliga för utformningen. Skisser på plats, fotografering och en mindre inventering har genomförts för ökad förståelse av platsen. Resultatet blev en gestaltning med stenblock och svarttall som bas, en naturlik vägmiljö.

När man blir äldre får man svårare att röra sig och blir mer beroende av andras hjälp. Det är vanligt att man med åldern blir mindre aktiv då vardagliga sysslor blir svårare och mer ansträngande att genomföra. Detta leder ofta till att äldre människor vistas mindre ute. Att fysisk aktivitet är hälsofrämjande är allmänt känt, genom aktivitet kan äldres hälsa och välbefinnande påverkas. Aktiviteter och vistelse i naturlika miljöer har positiv effekt på människors hälsa. Faktorer som väder, tillgänglighet till utemiljön, utemiljöns utformning och humör är många gånger avgörande för om äldre personer går ut eller inte.

The company System Andersson is developing systems for controlling materials and production in industries. They want to add a new service, where parts of those systems are accessible through cell phones.In this paper we are investigating which technology are best suited for this kind of application. And then we describe how we are developing a prototype fort this application, based upon that technology. After investigating technologies such as Java ME, Microsoft Silverlight, and web applications we settled upon building the system as a web application, customized for a mobile environment.To build a web page which is readable by many different cell phones we use the markup-languages which are developed for cell phones. We put much effort in reading about the standards and recommendations for the mobile web, produced by the organizations W3C and OMA.
