SSAB Tunnplåt AB i Borlänge arbetar aktivt med att förebygga olyckor och som en del i detta arbete utförs riskinventeringar och riskanalyser över företagets olika processer. Denna rapport syftar till att identifiera risker som uppkommer i samband med transport och lossning av saltsyra inom SSAB Tunnplåt AB´s område. Förslag till säkerhetshöjande åtgärder för de risker som är utmärkande ska även tas fram. Saltsyrahanteringen inom SSAB Tunnplåt AB i Borlänge har studerats och möjliga skadehändelser har identifierats. Sannolikhets- och konsekvensbedömningar för dessa har skattats, varefter en riskbedömning har presenterats i form av en riskmatris.

In order to get a better understanding of the interaction between employees and their technical work tools one needs to know what factors influence the interaction. The purpose of this study was to examine if there is a correlation between the personality traits Extraversion (E) and Neuroticism (N), tested with Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI), and experience of the new Intranet among employees at The Swedish National Transport Administration (SNTA), and also to gather information of employees? opinions about the new Intranet. A survey, containing questions about the Intranet and a personality test (EPI), was posted on SNTA?s Intranet for eight workdays (N = 88, females = 53, males = 35).

Föreliggande arbete har utförts på Flygfrakt AB som ligger vid Landvetters flygplats någramil öster om Göteborg. Företaget är ett av Sveriges största enskilda transportföretag.Uppgiften som tilldelades var att göra en kostnadskalkyl angående transporten Flygfrakt utförför Ericsson i Borås som innefattar transport av telekomutrustning från Ericssons lager tillHuddinge.Syftet med arbetet förutom att göra en kostnadskalkyl är att se över vad som kan göras för attreducera kostnader för den aktuella rutten. Kalkylen kan också bli en standardrutin för hurkostnadskalkylering för andra åtagande av godstransporter.Inledningsvis genomfördes en litteraturstudie i det aktuella ämnet för att få en bred bas somunderlag. Vidare intervjuades VD: n för Flygfrakt AB angående det aktuellatransportuppdraget och dess kostnader. För att få kompletterande information gjordes ävenintervjuer med administrativ personal och förare.Efter analysen framkom förbättringsförslag som skulle reducera kostnader.

Upplands Väsby municipality has a vision that podcars in the future will become an effective alternative in public transport, with reduced car-dependency as a result. The system would also attract new inhabitants and businesses to the municipality.This report deals with various issues that podcar stations may face. Also, suggestions for possible track laying at the stations and station design are presented. Two areas are investigated. Eds allé which is a neighborhood that is planned for housing and where the station may be planned into the cityscape from the start.

The task was to design and manufacture a submersible displacement pump working with the wobble plate principle. The main task for the Wobble plate pump is to be used as a sewage pump for smaller households or dewatering pump in environments where small flows and high pressures are acquired. For these purposes ITT Flygt sell a screw pump, PC-Grinder 3068. The hydraulic part of the PC-Grinder is manufactured by a subcontractor. Therefore ITT Flygt wants to evaluate an alternative to their screwpump PC-Grinder, which can be entirely manufactured by them self.

Today?s wind power plants are only compensated for their reactive power consumption at no-load. As the wind power plants grow bigger the amount of reactive power they need also increases. This is no longer a problem that can be ignored, especially as the net owners are beginning to charge the reactive power they transport.In this thesis a couple of different methods of compensation and their prices will be discussed and evaluated. Problems, such as self-excitation, that can occur if one fully compensates the wind power plant will also be brought to surface.

Electrical stunning is the method that has been used in Sweden to stun broilers prior to slaughter. However, for reasons of animal welfare and meat quality, research has been made in the EU to develop new stunning methods. Gas stunning is now regarded as the best alternative. In this study literature has been reviewed with focus on different gas stunning systems and observations have been made at two different slaughterhouses regarding animal welfare before, during and directly after stunning. At one slaughter plant carbondioxide was used in a two-stage system where the birds were standing on a conveyer belt during the stunning procedure.

As most developed countries Norway has an ageing population meaning that the number of pensioners is predicted to grow rapidly over the coming years. As a consequence the Norwegian pension system will not be able to provide for these future pensioners. Meanwhile, a rising number of early retirees and disability pension claimants is diminishing the real retirement age. Also the individual pension amount is growing while the pension system itself reaches maturity. In short, major reforms are needed in the Norwegian pension system.

Detta examensarbete har utförts på Pan Nordic Logistics (PNL) i Bromma, Stockholm. PNL är ett konceptföretag som erbjuder sina kunder att skicka paket från, till och inom Norden och dessa transporter köper företaget av leverantörer. Ordet koncept- kommer ifrån engelskans concept, alltså begrepp, idé. I PNL:s fall innebär detta att företaget inte har någon egen fysisk distribution utan distributionen sker efter avtal med dess parter. Företaget ser idag ett problem i att det inte har full kontroll på hur leverantörerna sköter sina transportuppdrag gentemot PNL.

The number of sawmills in Sweden has decreased dramatically since the 1980s and the trend looks set to continue. The sawmills that are left instead becomes larger and are situated farther apart. In northern Sweden, they are concentrated along the coastline.In our study, we compared conditions for running a sawmill in inland areas and coastal areas and looked at what factors have the greatest impact on the profitability of the sawmill in northern Sweden.We chose to compare different locals conditions for a sawmill that only sawn pine timber and had an annual raw material requirements of 300 000 m3ub per year. By analyzing the kNN-data from the Swedish National Forest Inventory we have taken out the size of the timber volume at each site and its catchment. We have also looked at possible competitors in the areas that may affect the purchase price of the commodity.

För att recipienter nedströms inte ska påverkas av dagvatten från industriområdenmed transport och lagerhållning, krävs det rening av föroreningar. Därför har detgjorts en undersökning av hur en dagvattendamm ska utformas för att få en ökadrening. Metoder som används är litteraturstudie och en fallstudie. Fallstudien harutförts för ett planerat industriområde. De frågor som besvarats är vilkaföroreningar som kan tänkas förekomma och hur de renas.

Executive SummaryThis final thesis has examined the effects of an increased centralization and better coord­in­ation of the distribution logistics at ABB in Västerås. The company is today strongly decent­ralized and there is a minimum of collaboration between the 20 business units. This is why the questions were raised; how could the business units coordinate outbound logistic activities and what effects would that provide. The obj­ect­ive of this final thesis is to provide basic data for a future decision-making which desc­r­ibe these effects.The report has mapped out the factors that are important to ABB in an evaluation of their logistic activities and how the outbound logistics work today. The four factors are cost efficiency, delivery service, environmental impact and logistics capability.

Background: An effective management of the healthcare's organization on one disaster site is considered as a condition in order to decrease damages and suffering at them as been hit of an accident. In KAMEDO-reports is described true accidents, how among other thing organizational parts been implemented and evaluations of which importance different decisions had. Aim: The aim of the study was to examine KAMEDO-reports concerning prehospital medical management on disaster sites. Method: Eight KAMEDO-reports was examined with focus on organization and management. Results: Four areas in which all could be influenced by the healthcare personnel in leading position was described: Management and Co-operation, Load and Go - Stay and Play, Priority and Triage.

The Effects of dietary biotin supplementation on hoof health in Swedish dairy cows - a controlled cohort field study. The aim of the present degree project was to investigate the effects of biotin supplementation on hoof health in dairy cows. The experiment was performed as a controlled cohort study in three commercial farms in western Sweden from January 2002 to October 2002. The cows were all housed in cubicle systems with transponder concentrate feeding systems. Within each farm the cows were allocated to either biotin or control treatment. The biotin groups received 20 mg of biotin per cow and day, starting 14 days before expected calving.
