The aim of this Master's thesis is to understand public library users' perceptions of librarians' attitudes to users and professional knowledge. The purpose was also to investigate the relative importance to the user of pleasant or a knowledgeable librarian. As a theoretical framework we use theory from business economy where the experience of the user is in focus. Answers were sought to the following questions: How do users perceive librarians attitudes to users? How do users perceive librarians professional knowledge? How do users want to be treated by public librarians? What kind of knowledge should public librarians have, according to users? We interviewed twelve students in university education that are users of public libraries.

Problematisering: Ekonomistyrning i kostnadsledande företag etablerar stabila förhållanden och eliminerar variation för att kontrollera kostnader, vilket enligt traditionell forskning ses som innovationshämmande. Samtidigt tycks företag i ökad utsträckning arbeta med kombinerade affärsstrategiska fokus, då viss innovation har visat sig nödvändig för att upprätthålla konkurrenskraft. Detta problematiserar tidigare forskning inom ekonomistyrning som behandlar affärsstrategi som ett val mellan antingen kostnadsledarskap eller differentiering.Syfte: Genom att utvärdera om kostnadsledarskap och differentiering kan kombineras för att skapa konkurrenskraft är syftet med denna studie att utveckla en fördjupad förståelse för hur en lågprispositionerad organisation kombinerar och använder styrmedel för att stödja innovation genom produktutvecklingsprocessen.Metod: Studien utvecklar befintliga teoretiska ramverk genom ett kvalitativt induktivt tillvägagångssätt. En inledande litteraturstudie resulterade i fem teoretiska förväntningar som möjliggjorde en analys av utförd fältstudie. Genom att intervjua fem respondenter från olika funktioner och hierarkiska nivåer i en kostnadsledande organisation som samtidigt utmärks av innovativ differentiering, kunde de fem teoretiska förväntningarna diskuteras samt utvecklas.

In this Bachelor Thesis (20 p.), we present the history and development of "Intelligent Houses", and most important- explore some of the future possibilities in this area. The project has been carried out through an interdisciplinary cooperation between three different educations at the Blekinge Institute of Technology. By conducting a dialogue with various actors with different professions, we have been trying to identify needs within the concept of "Intelligent Houses", were the end user is not only the tenant or homeowner. Through Participatory Design methods, such as a Future Workshop, we have brought the users together to discuss their own and each others needs and hindrances in their respective work practice, and how intelligent house technology could improve their work conditions. We have also been testing a highly sophisticated CO/CO2/Moisture/Temperature/Enthalpy multi-sensor & controller, originally developed for regulating indoor climate systems. Based on the needs we have found in our fieldwork, we have been looking at possibilities to make multi user solutions with the sensor..

Location-based services (LBS) contains of services helping users of finding positions of themselves or other objects. LBS applications can present information in varies types of ways, these could be threw speech, text, geographic symbols, photos etc. Not many studies have been done to examine the aspects of LBS communication and there is a demand for user and context centered mapping.The purpose of this report is to present a model for the development of user and context based services. The model will give guide lines of recommendations when implementing LBS. The different technologies that support LBS will also be noticed.

In this project a simulator has been developed (in C++) with the purpose of illustrating how changes in environmental regulations, tax levels and other policy measures affect the composition of an energy system. The aim of the project was to investigate how energy companies? investment strategies are affected when changes in economic and environmental conditions occur. A standard scenario has been created based on current Swedish conditions, but the user can create new scenarios and set parameters freely. The user is tasked with building power plants to supply the city/region with district heating and electricity during a pre-set number of years. When the simulation is finished the result is graded in the following categories: economy, environment and quality. To evaluate the simulator three scenarios were created (?early 20th century?, ?reduced environmental control? and ?future?) in addition to the standard scenario and these were compared with each other by examining how a select group of power plants perform under the given conditions.

Syfte ? Att skapa en ny produkt inom kategorin mingelbord, som erbjuder fler användningsområden för att bli mer anpassad för privatpersoner och i hemmamiljö. Att genom en innovativ konstruktion och en kombination av moduliserade- och hantverksdelar skapa en unik produkt på marknaden.Metod ? Grundmetoden för det här arbetet är den första fasen i en produkts liv: produktutvecklingsprocessen; identifiera behovet, planera designprocessen, ta fram kundkraven, utveckla konceptet och till sist utveckla produkten.Resultat ? Designkoncept på ett mingelbord har tagits fram och redovisas i bilder. Dessa bilder är resultatet av en uppmodellering i datorn med hjälp av 3D-progam.

In today?s industry it is starting to get more and more interesting with wireless systems and solutions for applications. To be able to reduce the amount of cables drawn to various machines which takes both space and an extra fee for every cable drawn. Some systems might require the user to use a handheld device that is directly connected by a cable which in some machines might be inelegant for the user.The goal with this bachelor thesis is to develop wireless monitoring of the machine operators position that is working with heavy industrial machinery. The thesis started out with researching different techniques for positioning a transmitter indoors, this was done in order to get a better understanding on how to go about.

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka i vilken utsträckning av goodwillposten som kan förklaras av innovationsförmågan i svenska börsnoterade företag.Inledning: Goodwill är en immateriell tillgång och uppstår i samband med företagsförvärv. På senare år har posten fått en stor betydelse och den ger även ett uttryck för framtida ekonomiska fördelar. Goodwill är svårdefinierat eftersom att posten exempelvis kan innehålla kundrelationer, varumärken, bra rykte etc. I dagsläget är innovation en viktig faktor för företag och har stor betydelse för ekonomisk tillväxt. Företagens innovationsförmåga borde därför ha en påverkan på goodwillpostens värde.Metod: I denna studie har en kvantitativ undersökning gjorts.

Ett av de mest populära community:n på internet och en av världens mest populärastewebbplats i dag är videotjänsten YouTube. Strömmande tjänster blir alltmer efterfrågade i taktmed att tekniken utvecklas och bandbreddens prestationsförmåga inte längre är en begränsning.Inte minst har strömmande tjänster, i synnerhet YouTube, blivit populärt på grund av desskopierade innehåll av användare, i motsats till det egenskapade. Många av de uppladdadevideoklippen är upphovsrättsskyddade och just sådana videoklipp har visat sig tendera att varasärskilt efterfrågade bland användarna.I den här uppsatsen tittar jag på användarnas beteenden på YouTube i form av en observationnär de laddar upp upphovsrättsskyddat material. Jag undersöker hur användare ställer sig tillupphovsrätten och de regler som råder på YouTube genom en enkätundersökning. Slutligenintervjuar jag två advokater specialiserade inom området för att ta del av deras professionellasynsätt.

Att personalen rekryterar lämpliga konsulter på rätt arbetsplats är andra framgångsfaktorer enligt oss. One important issue faced by companies is to secure their information and resources from intrusions. For accessing a resource almost every system uses the approach of assigning a unique username and a password to all legitimate users. This approach has a major drawback. If an intruder gets the above information then he can become a big threat for the company and its resources. To strengthen the computer security there are several biometric methods for identity verification which are based on the human body?s unique characteristics and behavior including fingerprints, face recognition, retina scan and signatures.

Scania provides a fleet management system for hauliers who want to control their fleets in anefficient way. The system includes an onboard computer with touch screen called ScaniaInteractor where the driver can access GPS navigation, order support, message service and otherfunctionalities. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a concept for logging the user interactionon the Interactor and analyze the result which enables further development and optimization ofthe interface.A demonstration application is designed, implemented and tested for the purpose of showing thepossibilities and difficulties with logging of interaction. The result shows that logging is quiteeasy to implement and that the amount of produced data is small and therefore not expensive totransfer via GPRS to a central server where searching and analysis can be done. On the otherhand, the biggest challenge lies in the analysis and interpretation of the logged data and to applyit to the development of the interface.
