This thesis has been carried out in autumn 2009 at Uppsala University for Boliden Mineral AB. Physical modelling has been used to model a comminution circuit. The model has then been linked to a PLC.When a concentrator is about to become operational Boliden Mineral AB have been looking for a way to test the PLC. The purpose of this report has therefore been to develop models for the subprocess in a concentrator and link these models to the PLC. The subprocess was a comminution circuit in Aitik36.

Background: The strategic importance of purchasing departments is increasing, yet supply risks are rather uncharted. The procurement of coffee involves supply risks and the purchaser needs to be able to handle these to enable the roasting-house to produce coffee as specified. Purpose: To chart risks in connection with the procurement of coffee as well as the possibilities of handling these. The thesis also examines if general risk management theories are applicable on the supply risk present within Swedish roasting-houses and can become an integral partof the purchasing process. Method: A qualitative case study of the purchasing process of Swedish roasting- houses.

The authors study the effects of brand salience on how consumers form brand attitudes and how consumers value the importance of various brand attributes. The study was conducted through two separate tests, the one focusing on the link between brand salience and brand attitudes and the other focusing on the link between brand salience and evaluations of attribute importance. Both tests measured brand salience as the ease with which brands are recalled by respondents who have been cued with a specific product category. The results show that brand salience has direct effects on both brand attitudes and the evaluation of attribute importance. As brands are recalled, high brand salience for a brand creates a more positive attitude towards that brand in the mind of the consumer.

An increasingly globalized market is leading to hard competition among manufacturing companies, which means that they are forced to become more customer focused to survive in the market. A Customer Relationship Management system is a system that will be of assistance to help companies succeed in building long term relationships with their customers. Best of Breed and ERP-based are two types of CRM systems. The study has focused on analyzing and examine the need for CRM systems at manufacturing companies. Our question formulation has been:? What need do businesses want to satisfy with a Best of Breed-based and ERP-based CRM system?? Are there any differences in the use of Best of Breed-based and ERP-based CRM system?In this study, we have chosen to carry out interviews and quantitative surveys with manufacturing companies to get their view of CRM-systems.

Vårt arbete var att skriva en handledning för att studenter och lärare snabbt ska komma igång med programmet Altium Designer 6 och utvecklingskortet som Institutionen för Teknik och Naturvetenskap (ITN) har.Utrustningen som vi använt heter Altium Designer LiveDesign Evaluation Kit. Det är ett paket bestående av ett utvecklingskort som är försett med en FPGA-krets. FPGA (Field Programmable Gated Array) är en krets innehållande logiska komponenter.Denna krets kan man programmera till olika logiska funktioner med språket VHDL. För programmering används programmet Altium Designer 6 I vår handledning finns information om utvecklingskortet, lite om hur det hårdvarubeskrivande språket VHDL är uppbyggt.Rapporten innehåller sedan steg för steg beskrivningar av hur man går till väga för att programmera och provköra enklare VHDL-exempel från programmet Altium Designer 6. Agencies towards Sustainable Development ? A Study of Environmental Management Systems in Governmental Agencies 2005A vision of the Swedish government is to build an ecologically sustainable society. A tool in this effort is to implement environmental management systems (EMS). The aim of the thesis is to present in which phase of the implementation of EMS Swedish governmental agencies are. This will be done by compilation and evaluation of agencies? yearly environmental reports.The thesis is written in co-operation with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Swedish EPA).

This paper presents an approach in contemporary, abstract art for a new way of experiencing modernist abstraction. This has not been possible until now, about 40 years after the postmodern turn against modernism in art, and the closely connected formalism. This new approach is represented in this paper by the Swedish contemporary artists Ann Edholm and Jacob Dahlgren. Modernist artists such as Kasimir Malevich and Piet Mondrian receives a new relevance to contemporary abstract art. This opens up for a new, more complex and more dialectical understanding and re-evaluation of modernism and its abstract art.This is shown by a historical and chronological investigation which highlights modernist abstract art, formalism, and the critical and post-modern Neo-geometric ?abstraction? of the eighties.

Marknaden inom e-handel drivs till stor del av aktuella trender, vilka är med och utmanar både marknaden och företagen. Trender i sin tur drivs framåt av dagens teknologi som hela tiden utvecklas. För att ett företag ska kunna överleva på marknaden är det viktigt att hålla jämna steg med trenderna och teknologin. Det är inte bara marknaden som ställer högre krav på företagen och deras tjänster.  Konsumenter är snabba med att uppfatta de nya trenderna och teknologier, och ser det som en självklarhet att företag ska omfamna dessa och implementera dem i tjänsterna. Marknadens nya standarder leder till högre krav och förväntningar hos konsumenterna.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka vad som kännetecknar en användarvänlig webbsida och om www.atg.se har lyckats attrahera sin målgrupp. Min forskningsfråga var: Har www.atg.se lyckats attrahera sin mest prioriterade målgrupp och få de att öka sitt spel på webbsidan på grund av webbsidans design och användbarhet?För att en webbsida ska vara användbar för en användare måste den tillföra ett värde till an-vändaren, något som användaren har nytta av. För att webbsida ska vara användarvänlig krävs att den är lätt att använda. Att anpassa sin webbsida efter användarna kan vara svårt eftersom det som alla målgrupper har gemensamt är att de är människor och människor tänker och tolkar saker väldigt olika.

SYFTEUndersökningens syfte är att skapa förståelse för vilka kvalitetsdeterminanter som är betydelsefulla för den kundupplevda tjänstekvaliteten på Internetbaserade handelsplatser. PROBLEMVilka determinanter beskriver hur kunder upplever tjänstekvalitet på detaljhandelstjänster som utförs över Internet? METODEfter genomgång av de tjänstekvalitetsteorier som finns idag inom tjänstemarknadsföringen visade det sig att det saknades modeller som beskriver teknologibaserade tjänster där kunden använder sig av egen utrustning för att handla på Internet. För att få en bredare teoretisk bas tillämpade vi därför även teorier från den mer tekniska disciplinen HCI. Med detta som grund samlade vi genom 33 djupintervjuer, med personer som handlat varor en eller flera gånger på Internet, in åsikter om och redogörelser för vad dessa kunder upplevt vara tjänstekvalitet då de handlat på Internet.

Graphic design is an integrated part of the public spaces we move through in our daily lives. This thesis explores the emotional aspects of graphic design, with a focus on environmental graphics for the public space. The goal is to find ways in which the emotional aspects of a design solution can be varied without compromising the practical aspects, i.e. affect the conveyance of information. This goal is pursued through an analysis of historical and contemporary literature as well as by design practise.

A study was made to evaluate how current measurementscould help to determine how particles from fish farms are dispersed. During sixweeks of the summer 2012, two different current measurements were conducted.One of them consisted of measurements each fifth minute at 5 m and 15 m atthree locations for 14-16 days each. The other consisted of profilemeasurements at each location at four times during the period of six weeks. Forthe current measurements two instruments (model RCM 9) were used. A two weekmeasurement can give enough data to make an evaluation of how the currents at alocation will transport litter from a fish farm.

The aim of this paper was to perform a method validation on animmune turbidimetric assay to quantify C-reactive protein in canine serum at the laboratory atSkara Animals Hospital, Skara, Sweden. The validation involved evaluation of the assaylinearity, precision, stability and recovery.The method was proved to be linear for both TruLab control and Medinor control.

The aim of this study is to describe how reviews of literature in Bonniers litterära magasin and Expressen changed during the period 1964-2004. The investigation is based on 20 reviews of novels and short stories, which are analysed with a method described in Hellspong and Ledin (1997) and inspired by Halliday. The theoretical frame of the investigation is founded on critical discourse analysis (Fairclough 1992 & 2001) and Habermas´social theory of the public sphere.The investigation shows, among other things, that the reviews became shorter and easier to read in both paper during the period. The investigation also shows that the genre´s style, composition and contents are relatively stable, and that current ideologies in society have a tendency to be reflected in the reviewers´evaluation of the books. To generalize, the reviews thus developed from a poetic genre in 1964, to become political in the 1970s, academic in the 1980s, feminist in the 1990s and finally an intermedial genre in 2004..

Agricultural soils constitute the base in human food production and soil content of organic matter and plant nutrients together with soil microbial activity are all important parameters for high crop yield of good quality. These parameters are dependant on proper fertilization.Anaerobic digestion of organic wastes for biogas production generates a liquid residue called biogas residue (BR). It contains organic material and plant nutrients which makes ita potential fertilizer for arable cropping. However, it also contains heavy metals and toxic organic compounds and it is therefore in need of evaluation before usage.Microbial tests were performed aiming to evaluate the agronomic traits of four different BR and to find a viable procedure for evaluating slurry fertilizers. Two experiments where soil respiration and soil potential denitrification activity (PDA) was measured at fertilizer addition were performed.
