Persontäthet vid utrymningsberäkningar : Köpcentrums persontätheter
The aim of this study is to evaluate whether the value of occupant load is over or under estimated when the Swedish general value for department stores, 0,5 person/m2, is used for dimensioning shopping centers. The data that was analyzed derives from seven shopping centers and one department store. A conservative method was used to calculate the occupant load factor. The analysis shows that two groups can be discerned: one group that is characterized by a lower occupant load factor that does not exceed 0,3 person/m2, and one group with a higher occupant load factor. Shopping centers with a higher occupant load factor are located centrally in large urban areas.
Hur framställer miljökonsekvensbeskrivningarna vindkraftens effekter på miljön? : Ett arbete om vindkraft och dess påverkan.
Sena fördyrande ändringar under produktionsfasen i byggprojekt är vanligtförekommande i byggbranschen. Skanska Mora är inte ett undantag och har börjat sedessa fördyrande ändringar som ett problem som de vill undersöka. Syftet med dettaarbete har varit att definiera och minimera fördyrande sena ändringar underproduktionsfasen. Målet har varit att ta fram en rekommendation till Skanska Mora på hurde kan förebygga kostsamma sena ändringar under produktion. Förhoppningen har varitatt detta på sikt ska leda till möjligheter till fler lyckade byggprojekt på många plan förSkanska Mora, och att skapa diskussion för att belysa grundproblematiken i området. Arbetet grundar sig främst på en litteraturstudie i områden om fördyrande senaändringar, ändringshantering i projektarbeten och andra delar i byggbranschen.
Effekterna av urbanisering, barksprickedjup och solexponering på lavfloran i sydöstra Sverige
Studies have shown that air pollution, as well as bark fissure depth and sun exposure of a tree can have an effect on lichen growth as well as abundance of lichen species. The aim of this study was to find out the relative importance of these factors. 211 oaks in south eastern Sweden were surveyed for presence of 17 lichen species, as well as the total number of lichen species. Half of the trees were situated in urban areas and half in the countryside. For each tree the bark fissure depth was measured and the sun exposure of the trunk was estimated.

Ett livslångt intresse för psykologi och landskapsarkitektur ledde in på spåret att
diskutera vad två av dagens stora frågor inom ämnet kunde erbjuda om de slogs
samman; positiv psykologi (?Positive Psychology?) och hållbar stadsutveckling. Alla
människor utsätts emellanåt för stress, vilken vi är konstruerade att kunna hantera.
Trots det är en av de största orsakerna till sjukskrivning i vår tid just stress- och
relaterade sjukdomar. En välkänd källa till restoration eller återhämtning är grönska
och natur. Så frågan i denna uppsats rör huruvida små grönområden i den täta
staden kan verka restorativt på människorna som besöker dem.
Social hållbarhet och förtätning : en kritisk studie i förtätningens sociala paradoxer
Densification is one of the urban visions for sustainable development - a vision that has become a part of the solution to the unsustainable sake dilemma. With the dense city land will be saved, energy consumption reduced and social cohesion improved. The dense city is considered to be ecologically, economically and socially sustainable. Applying an urban design concept has thus proven to be problematic. Density has been found to be a complex concept
which is far more complicated than measuring how much built surface that needs to be covered.
It is also not disputed what different degrees of densification mean and whether densification in itself is sustainable.
Holmbergska tomten i Lund : en fallstudie utifrån begreppet ?Urban Wilderness?
I mitt examensarbete till landskapsarkitekt har jag valt att göra en fallstudie utifrån begreppet Urban Wilderness. Som studieobjekt har jag valt en plats i Lund som kallas Holmbergska tomten.
Holmbergska tomten är en ca 1,5 hektar stor ödetomt. Platsen har en historia som sommarnöje och trädgårdsmästeri. Sedan början av 70-talet, då staden köpte tomten, har vegetationen på platsen fått utvecklats fritt utan skötselåtgärder - förutom att man tagit ned sjuka och döda almar det senaste årtiondet. Det har lett till att platsen fått en vild karaktär, med gamla stora träd, sly,
snåriga buskar och ett mycket vackert fältskikt med överdådig vårblomning.
Värdet av stadsodlingen i Rosengård : utifrån fastighetsägares perspektiv
MKB fastighets AB förvaltar stora delar av Malmö stads utrymmen vilket ger dem stort inflytande och möjlighet att utveckla stadsmiljön. Det finns intresse bland aktörer, bland annat Odla i stan, att visa på fördelar med stadsodling/ boendenära odling. Forskning kring stadsodlingens värde behövs för att motivera
stadsodlingsprojekt och anställningar nu och i framtiden. Denna studie utreder vilka värden som skapas av stadsodlingen i stadsdelen Rosengård i Malmö och hur det
kan gynna de fastighetsägare som verkar i området. Begreppet stadsodling började användas i Sverige runt 2009 men det finns en tradition att odla i staden för egen
konsumtion.
Solenergi på Nordvästra Kungsholmen
The energy that the earth receives from the sun hourly has potential to cover a year?s energy demand in the world. Further, this type of energy is environmentally friendly, natural and free of cost. This report covers solar energy in an urban environment and consists of a case study of installations of photovoltaic cells in a part of the city of Stockholm. It is mainly the economic aspects that are covered but there is also a discussion about the practical consequences and the sustainability as a result of integration of solar energy in an urban environment. The aim of the study is to present results from economic calculations for utilization of solar energy in chosen buildings in Kungsholmen in Stockholm.
Bruka utan att förbruka - när andra intressen än ekonomin får styra
To have a forest area close to the city is of great importance for the city population?s well being. Children develop their motor skills, concentration and imagina-tion and the adults have a place to shake of the stress from work. Forest areas are used to exercise at, play in and to find a moment of peace and silence.
The urban forest and the old farming pastures at Markussonvallen and Per-Isakssonvallen already has natural assets worth to preserve and a great potential to create more. The goal is to develop a forest with a variation of tree species and ground vegetation that will appeal to the human senses and different animal species such as birds, insects etc.
Svenska Turistföreningens fjällstugor - Uppvärmning, ventilation och elförsörjning
Svenska turistföreningen håller på att uppföra ett enplanshus. Huset är på 279 m2 varav ca entredjedel är gemensamhetsutrymmen med kök, uppehållsrum, toalett, hygien- och torkrum. Detplaneras 10 sovrum med 24 bäddar. Uppgiften är att undersöka om det går att uppfylla dagenskrav på inomhusmiljö vad gäller uppvärmning, ventilation och elbehov i svårtillgänglig miljö därmöjligheten till extern el inte finns tillgänglig. Rapporten presentera även beräkningar ochinformation som belyser möjliga energisparande åtgärder och vilken effekt de har påenergikonsumtionen.

The wind power increase of Gotland as well as other parts of Sweden during the last ten year period has meant that this renewable energy source has increased its share over other fossil sources. The year of 2011 became the first when the wind power produced more energy than an average nuclear reactor. Now that wind power is in an expansive phase, the land issue will be of great interest. Land with good wind resources will be of interest to wind energy developers. The problems that this essay is based on are; how can landowners altering the economic conditions at a wind power establishment? What opportunities and obstacles exist for landowners who choose to set up wind power on their land? The purpose of this essay is to highlight the economic conditions that exist for landowners for the establishment of wind farms, with regard to compensation for the leasing and return on invested capital.
Mångfunktionella golfbanor : rekreativa och pedagogiska platser
The objective of this essay is, from the golf perspective including the golf courses' physical attributes, golf club management, members of the golf club and golf course designers, to explore possibilities for making existing golf courses more multifunctional. The purpose of this is to increase the understanding for golf courses' role as part of the landscape and comprehension regarding possible opportunities around them to exploit and develop.The increased pressure of population in peri-urban areas has resulted in a greater need for accessible recreation, particularly in the isolated farmland. As a result, land is sometimes used against landowners' will, which is a deficiency that is the basis for many conflicts between farmers and landowners.In the current situation, there is a negative trend in golf with reduced interest and fewer golfers than in the past. As a result, many of Sweden's golf courses have financial problems and are therefore trying to find new ways to avoid bankruptcy. Sweden's existing golf courses occupy about 30 000 hectares of land, of which a very large percentage are located in peri-urban areas.
Dialog om staden : En studie om medborgardialogens roll och betydelse för stadsplaneringen i Nacka kommun
This master thesis explores the nature of public participation as a central and most current subject in the field of urban planning. A first impression exposes a seemingly unanalyzed consensus on the values and benefits which public participation provides the process of urban planning. The city may be a concern to all its inhabitants; hence knowledge and opinions of the local public are of great importance for the urban development. But is there really something new to these assumptions, and are the advantages of increased public participation in urban planning always obvious? By using action research as a main method, I have put myself into the context of the Swedish municipality of Nacka and their projects dealing with the development of public participation.
Mind the gap : the possibilities of the public space in the contemporary city
Mind the gap encourages you to beware of the interspaces. The project seeks to
defend the gaps that occur in time and space and encourages the reader to care
about the interruptions of the routine-like and planned, whilst also opening up a
discussion about interaction and participation. Mind the gap is a project about the many
opportunities the public space has in the contemporary city. What you have in front of
you is the result of this project.
As society constantly changes, new and different needs arise in the city and it is
necessary that architects and planners understand and adapt to these changes.
They have to be able to develop new ways of thinking and to challenge established
perceptions of what the public space is and should be. This means being able to see
that the public space could be different and to recognize the potentials for it to change.
This project examines the underlying ideals of urbanism and investigates
the potentials of the City when shaped by these ideals.
Borlänge, Dalarnas köpstad no 1 : Hur centrum, Kupolen och Norra Backa kan bindas samman för att tillsammans vinna köpkraften
Thesis: The aim of our study is to identify how IKEA's externalestablishment at Norra Backa can affect Kupolen and the centre. This in order to provide suggestions on how these trade areas can be connected and create a whole to thereby gain the purchasing power.Method: In our study we used triangulation. That means we have used both a quantitative and a qualitative approach. The quantitative method based on a survey with 100 respondents. The qualitative method is based on interviews with the centre conductors of Borlänge, Laila G Prosén and Anna Timander.Theory: The theories we have used is STP, substitution effects and effects of overspill, important factors for an attractive market town, Town Centre Management, Urban Retail Product.Conclusion: We found how IKEA's establishment at Norra Backa may affect Kupolen and the center of Borlänge then we gave suggestions on how these trade areas can be connected..
