The Swedish forestry aims primarily maximize production and economical wins. However, especially urban forests have great qualities as space for recreation and children?s play, which means that other goals should lead the forests management. The Teleborg forest is a wooded area in Växjö, surrounded by urban dwellings, schools, nurseries etc. A great part of the forest was wind felled during the storm Gudrun in 2005 which changed the forest, earlier dominated by spruce, dramatically.
Health care is increasingly complex, which increases the demand for knowledge and expertise. Despite this, the share of specialized nurses, including anaesthesia nurses, has decreased from 65% to 48% from year 1995 to year 2008, according to statistics from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) in 2010. Studies indicate that there may be various factors in the work environment that anaesthesia nurses, choose to leave the anaesthesia profession. The purpose of this study was to examine how anaesthesia nurses experienced the physical and psychosocial work. The study was conducted as a descriptive study with qualitative approach.

Use of lighting is crucial to make public urban
places available during dark hours. Landscape
architects participate in planning of lighting, but
during our education there is very little taught on
the subject. Through this study we approach the
subject of lighting by looking into lighting methods
for urban plant materials during winter.
In this thesis we look into ways to emphasize the
visible characters and experiences of urban plants
during winter season using light. Target audience
are landscape architect students and landscape
architects without knowledge of lighting. The part
of the thesis that describe basic conditions for, and
visual characters of plants can be useful to lighting
designers without knowledge in this subject.
Working methods used were the following:
? Pre-study about light and lighting techniques
through literature and dialogues.
? Compiling important visual winter plant
characters through photography and literature.
? Outdoor light experiments with plants.
Den nyliberala staden : -Ett Kalmarperspektiv
Abstract Contemporary cities find themselves today in a fierce competition against other cities over company establishment and in -migration. In this competition, the city?s main objective is to become an attractive site of capital accumulation. As this happens, the pressure on the vulnerable groups in society increases, leading to a social geographic polarization. I have examined how the shift towards neoliberalism has affected a city on the fringe as Kalmar. How is the postindustrial urban space constructed? I found this important to analyze since it put two important questions in the light: For whom, and for which purpose do we build the city today? My questions have been:v What are Kalmar municipality?s strategies to develop Kalmar?v What are the results of this strategy in the urban space?v What are the consequences of this strategy? The research has been a case study of the city of Kalmar with a qualitative deductive approach where David Harvey?s theories about the city in a capitalist system have been the underpinning structure.
I have studied the suburban
municipality of Botkyrka, south of
Stockholm, from a rural perspective.
Through that I`ve compared how
countryside comes into being with the
planning and building of suburbs.
I have looked for a definition of
Countryside, and found that it is
often explained or defined in negative
terms, as what it is not. In that it
says nothing about what it really is,
or about the qualitiies it has to it.
Botkyrka is a suburb, but it does in
large parts consist of countryside.
Apart from defining countryside and
rural I´ve been searching for a
definition of suburbia, of it´s
structure and the mental picture we
have of it as a cultural phenomena.
In order to understand the role that
suburbs have in planning I describe
their history from Italian
renaissance villas to sprawl.
By opposing urban and rural, modern
urban planning and how rural areas
are created, I´ve come to a
definition of rural planning and the
making of countryside. To make
countryside, planning and building
should come from individual needs and
desires. A relationship to the
surroundings based on continous
interaction between the human beeing
and it´s environment, a constant
process of shaping and reshaping.
To put my thoughts to the ground I
have collected examples of projects
and ideas, that fits into my view of
what rural planning and making
countryside is all about. They are
put in different categories according
to the possibilities of influence and
to what degree it is put into private
hands.
The first category is
?allemansrätten?, every mans right.
That is the rigt to use private land
as long as you don´t disturb or
destroy.
In 1998, 'the Naval Port of Karlskrona' was inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and thus, it is equally protected as China?s Great Wall and the Pyramids of Egypt. The essay is a case study of Karlskrona, one of Sweden's most well planned cities, where famous urban planners and architects such as Erik Dahlberg and Nicodemus Tessin the Elder has been involved.Today, Karlskrona is a rather unknown small town in Sweden's outskirts, where population growth has been a problem. When Karlskrona was founded, in the late 17th century, Sweden was a major power. The Blekinge archipelago was in the middle of the Baltic dominion and Karlskrona represented a midpoint in the kingdom. Therefore, Karlskrona has a small town charm with the history and style of a cosmopolitan city.By initially studying how the town?s character of today is expressed, the history of Karlskrona is explored.
Uteförskola : en undersökning
?Think of the best for the child? that?s a sentence we been hearing before, but the question is, do we really? Does the child get the opportunities to develop to healthy, safe, creative, mobile, concentrated, invention, curious, harmony child?
Preschool outdoors is about time. On a preschool outdoors, gets the child opportunities to shape materials and the place they are on, the environment on preschool outdoors is formable and the children fantasy is big. Nothing is decided on a preschool outdoors ahead and nothing is static, here is the place where the child creates together with the nature and landscape. The landscape has a central part in the child?s play and in the child development and there are often no limits.
School ground development is becoming increasingly popular in Sweden today and local community settings are also seen as an important resource for education. The debate today raises the question about the whole city?s pedagogic potential. Outdoor education is a pedagogy that comprises outdoor learning with focus on the sensual experiences. Connection to the classroom education is an important part of the pedagogy and so is the place for the tuition. But how should the place for the tuition, i.e.

På rätt spår i en osäker miljö? : En fallstudie av Banverket Telenät
Background: Today, the environment of a company is characterized by quick changes like leaps of technology and market shifts. The problem is how this turbulent environment and an uncertain future affect how a company creates strategies and how its structure is adapted. Can a certain choice of strategies or a certain structure be a way of dealing with an changing environment? Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to explore if and how Banverket Telenät, as an example of a company in a turbulent business like the Swedish telecom industry, tries to deal with an uncertain future through strategy and structure. Procedure: We have carried through a qualitative case study with interviews and gathering of additional information concerning the business.
Arbetsmiljöansvar vid uthyrning av personal
As the staffing agency business is rapidly growing and suffering from accidents resulting in higher sick leave than in other businesses, it is of great interest to analyze which responsibilities prevail between the customer companies and the staffing agencies, when it comes to working environment for hired staff. The purpose of this essay is to clarify the distribution of responsibilities between customer companies and staffing agencies, regarding working environment. I would also like to analyze which consequences this distribution of responsibilities may lead to.To be able to answer these questions, I have chosen to use the legal dogmatic method together with the sociology of law method. I have studied legal sources, literature and also interviewed three persons who are active within the staffing agency business; one person from the Swedish Work Environment Authority, one person from the employers? side and one person from the employees? side. The conclusion of my survey is that the SAM-responsibility is divided equally between staffing agencies and customer companies, since the customer company who hires staff is equated with an employer. The employer must also ensure that there is an organized work adaptation and rehabilitation function within the company.
Coco Beach from city dump to paradise : a design proposal for a public beach in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Sub Saharan Africa has during the last decade become the
world?s fastest urbanizing region. This change is concentrated to a few metropolitan areas one of them being Dar es Salaam, the largest city of Tanzania. Since the 1960s Dar es Salaam has grown from being a relatively small coastal city of approximately 300 000 people to become a bustling urban centre of four million inhabitants. This development has had a major impact on the city structure, which in turn has affected people?s welfare and the surrounding environment.
One such consequence is the detrimental loss of urban
vegetation and open areas in the city.
