What do the members? presentations look like? Do men and women select different ways to present themselves, and how does it look between the different age groups?Material/Method: Qualitative method with 42 presentation texts, half men, and half women in three different age groups collected from a Swedish dating site.Main results: The study shows that men and women choose to highlight their good points at self presentation in the student forum. The differences between the various age groups proved not to be significantly large.

The study aimed to evaluate the information and training the stoma therapist at Uppsala University Hospital has given to patients who have recently undergone stoma surgery. The study was a descriptive cross-sectional study using qualitative and quantitative design. A total of 22 patients who completely or partially took care of their stomas and recently had undergone stoma surgery participated by answering a questionnaire. At discharge most of them experienced they were relatively well-informed but they wanted more information. Before the revisit they weren?t especially safe or comfortable.

I denna studie har insamling av referensdata över språkförståelse hos treåringar med typisk språkutveckling genomförts. Till detta har bedömningsmaterialet Sofialådan (Westerlund & Öfverholm-Engström, 1995) använts. Sofialådan bygger som flera andra språkförståelsematerial på den s.k. act-outmetoden där man låter barnet agera med föremål efter en given instruktion. Med hjälp av föremålen i Sofialådan bedöms barnets förmåga att identifiera grundfärger och storleksbegrepp, kategorisera, flytta föremålenligt olika prepositionsanvisningar samt att följa flerledade instruktioner.

Korta utlandsuppdrag har blivit ett sätt för multinationella företag att överföra kunskap mellan enheter. Det finns flera barriärer för överföring av tyst kunskap (know-how).   Eftersom tid till anpassning och kunskapsöverföring i värdlandet är begränsad vid korta utlandsuppdrag kan förberedelser inför uppdragen underlätta kunskapsöverföringen. Syftet med vår studie var att utforska hur korta utlandsuppdrag förbereds av företagsledningen och av medarbetare på huvudkontoret inom det internationella diagnostikföretaget Phadia, för att skapa förutsättningar till värdeskapande kunskapsöverföring till andra enheter. Datainsamlingen genomfördes med kvalitativa personliga intervjuer av två chefer och tre medarbetare på Phadias huvudkontor i Uppsala. Företagsledningens och medarbetarnas förberedelser bestod främst av praktiska förberedelser inför flytten till värdlandet.

Gabriel Wilczkowski: Gregorianik hos Maurice Duruflé. En analys av Duruflés Quatre motets.Uppsala: Musikvetenskap, 60 p., 2002Under flera hundra år har tonsättare infogat urgamla gregorianska melodier i sina kompositioner, och traditionen lever kvar än i dag, även i populärmusiken. Denna uppsats syftar att undersöka hur Maurice Duruflé (1902-86) behandlat de gregorianska melodier som han infogat i sina körkompositioner Quatre motets. Undersökningen är gjord med avseende på melodik, text och rytmik. En kort biografi om Duruflë presenteras, jämte ett avsnitt om gregoriansk sång och den rytmteori som tonsättaren stödjer sig på.

Syftet med studien var att belysa hur studie- och yrkesvägledare beskriver tjänsteomfattningens inverkan på yrkesrollen. Den metod som användes var kvalitativ och sammanlagt genomfördes fem intervjuer. En studie- och yrkesvägledarutbildare med lång erfarenhet av både yrket och utbildningen intervjuades för att ge ett övergripande perspektiv på studie- och yrkesvägledares yrkesroll och dess problematik. För att få mer specifika kunskaper kring studie- och yrkesvägledares uppfattning om tjänsteomfattning intervjuades fyra studie- och yrkesvägledare från Samlad vägledning i Uppsala kommun. Resultatet visar att vägledarna i undersökningen anser att deras uppdrag som vägledare är att hjälpa eleverna att hitta sig själva och hjälpa dem att finna en utbildning som passar deras behov.

The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate different types of measures for making buildings more energy efficient and to estimate their profitability. The calculations were performed with the building simulation program VIP+ and the evaluation of the profitability with the life cycle cost method. Furthermore, it was examined how losses in the distribution of secondary systems of district heating can be avoided. Options to replace district heating with a local district heating system based on bio-energy have been investigated. The possibilities of achieving more efficient thermal energy consumption and production for the chosen estate were also examined.The object of the study has been a residential estate with 133 detached houses in Uppsala, built in 1974.

Aim: To describe perceptions about written and verbal information regarding diet and physical activity in women with breast cancer and to study possible differences between ages and perception. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted and consisted of 57 women with breast cancer stages I-III who started adjuvant chemotherapy within a year (2007-2008). A questionnaire, regarding their perceptions about the written and verbal information they had received about diet and physical activity, was responded to three months following treatment completion. Between 67-93 % of the participants responded to the questions. The answers was analyzed with descriptive statistics and Mann Whitney U-test.

The field of work and employment is constantly undergoing changes. In order to help organizations to adjust to new conditions, different models for organizing have been developed. Many of these models are spread worldwide, due to the need for organizations to meet demands of flexibility and efficiency. In this study, a small number of models, which contains solutions of how to organize work in Human Resources, have been selected. The author and scientist Dave Ulrich, who has had a large influence on the development of the work in Human Resources, originally founded these models.The aim of this study was to examine how these models were functioning, in reference to the different departments of Human Resources labor within the township of Uppsala.

I denna uppsats har jag undersökt vad egenföretagare på landsbygden ser som begränsningar i sitt företagande. Intresset för detta område väcktes under kursen entreprenörskap för landsbygdsutveckling, där Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet gjorde ett samarbete med Uppsala kommun i och med arbetet med deras nya utvecklingsplan. Samarbetet utfördes genom att studenterna höll i ?Landsbygd 2.0? workshops på Uppsalas bygder. Studien utgörs av tre kvalitativa intervjuer med en företagarförening och två egenföretagare.

By a case study on Johan Lindegren (1842-1908) I demonstrate how a musician or a composer functioned in the social structures of the music society and how power affected the work of the musician or composer. This essay also fills another purpose as it gives Lindegren a more detailed biography, which is something that has been missing until now.By applying a concept of power, as discussed by Michel Foucault, to this subject and interacting it with the concepts of musical opportunism, I present a new way of talking about the social, as well as the individual factors that affects the individual musician within the music society.The conclusion is drawn that there are two different types of factors that affects the work of the individual; 1) the social network and power within society, which presents positions and opportunities for the musician and 2) the individual character of musician which determine the way the individual uses the position or opportunity he or she is given..

The historical aspect is given by a study of bibliographic data in different catalogues of a specific collection. The aim is also to understand what specific problems will arise in the work of cataloguing music materials and how the problems are discussed in the literature. The study is focusing of church music material and the history of churchmusic is therefore given an exposition. The origin of musical notation, which took place within the church, is also discussed.
