AbstractStudents at Mälardalen University have long performed their lab on a small turbojet engine in the course Aircraft Engine Technology. Since 2011, the engine has been dysfunctional. This was due to lack of maintenance. Since the lab has been an important element in teaching, the University had decided to get the engine functional again. Often the research is bound to the university and the research libraries supplies the scientist with all journals needed. Uppsalahem AB is a municipally owned real estate concern that owns and administrates housing for nearly 30 000 people. The company puts a lot of effort into reducing the energy use of their housing stock. This project is a master?s thesis in the energy systems programme at Uppsala University, carried out in collaboration with Uppsalahem. The aim of this thesis is to provide energy saving measures for fourteen student housing buildings in Uppsala, Sweden.

In Sweden we have the highest rate of nontraditional students among Europe. Coincidently, we also have the highest rates of drop outs among OECD. In this particular field, drop out from higher education, there is a need fore more qualitative studies that can support the "statistics". Studies about experiences of drop outs are significant for society, university and individual. The aim of this study is to describe and understand how nontraditional student experiences drop out from higher education.

Beslutet om att bygga Uppsala Konsert och Kongress har varit ett omdebatterat ämne i Uppsala där kritik har framförts mot bland annat de kalkyler som varit en del av beslutsunderlaget till investeringen. This essay is about testing the validity of an article written by Jonas Löwgren, called The use qualities of digital design. The study we have executed is about testing the featured qualities of digital design in the article on two search systems located in the library of Stockholm University and Södertörn University respectively to see how they are able to be applied on search systems. To acquire the information for the study, we handed out a written inquire among users of those systems. The result of this quantitative study shows us that many that five of Löwgrens qualities is likely to be present on the systems. Our conclusion is that five of these are appliable on search systems.

The material is analyzed using descriptive tools, cross tables and correlation matrices in which general characteristics as well as individual understandings of the network communication are presented and discussed.Main results: The general results indicate that the network communication serves important purposes, such as providing support and motivation for the members and changing attitudes towards equal opportunities. The analysis suggests that the network members have good communicative possibilities to serve as agents of change within their organisations. The main object of this paper is an attempt to illustrate the present situation of TeheranUniversity Central Library and its 17 faculty libraries. The main aspects of these librarieswhich will be discussed are collections, staffing, management, shelving, cataloguing and thelibrary users. Föreliggande studie syftar till att genom en visuell innehållsanalys kartlägga gemensamma drag i 120 universitetslogotypers visuella utformning, samt undersöka samband mellan dessa karaktärsdrag och universitetens internationella rankningsposition.Med utgångspunkt från topprankningslistan Times Higher Education World University Rankings med 400 internationella universitet, indelade i fyra grupper i intervaller om 100 (d.v.s. rankningsposition 1?100, 101?200 etc.), valdes 30 universitet ut per grupp genom ett obundet slumpmässigt urval. Logotyperna för universiteten inhämtades främst från deras grafiska manualer.I studien presenteras förekomsten av generella drag med avseende på färg, typografi, typologi, detaljrikedom samt innehåll och form. Resultatet visade på tydliga gemensamma drag med i regel en till två dominerande karaktärsdrag per kategori.

In the beginning of the nineties there was a change in how the voluntary sector was perceived, and the significance of their work became reevaluated and more acknowledged. As a result, this sector gained a new and higher interest. The changes and downsizing in the welfare state with economic crises, due to political cutback, made the politicians look fore new solutions. One solution is to encourage cooperation between the public sector and the voluntary sector in order to handle the different needs of individuals.Uppsala community and the voluntary sector are working closely together within a project called ?God Livsmiljö?.

Denna uppsats behandlar ämnet OPS och de kringliggande områden som har varit av intresse för att studera valda delar, av upphandlingen och konstruktionen av samarbetet mellan kommunen och privata aktörer, kring Uppsala Arena. De ämnesområden som aktualiseras i huvudsak är; den kommunala kompetensen, statstöd och formerna för olika typer av upphandling inom EU. Resultatet visar att Arenaprojektet i Uppsala är att betrakta som en byggkoncession. Dessutom har konstaterats att kommunen kan ha agerat utanför den kommunala kompetensen och att stödet mycket väl kan utgöra ett otillbörligt statstöd. Faktumet att Uppsala kommun inte ansökte om godkännande från EU kommissionen för sitt stöd till Arenaprojektet kan ses som en lärdom för andra kommuner som planerar att genomföra liknande projekt, då detta agerande med största sannolikhet avskräcker privata aktörer, med den ökade risk det medför..
