This essay shows how teachers adjust the literature studies in the mother tongue subject to their different classes in Upper secondary school.The study is based on interviews with two teachers and an analysis of two different school-books. The conclusion is that the subject of literary education in the vocational programs is a pragmatic subject with focus on the pupils? needs and skills, and the subject in the theoretical programs has more focus on mediation of a literary heritage..

The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate if and how Upper secondary school librarians can work in a more deliberately pedagogical way with fiction from the perspective of Upper secondary school students. In the essay inspiration is fetched from phenomenography in order to determine the different perspectives that may exist amongst the students. In addition to the phenomenography, theories on how learning occurs, individual and social constructivism, are also included in the essay. In the essay three Upper secondary schools are included. Interviews were conducted with the librarian of each school and with three students at each school.

This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of interdisciplinary collaborations between Art and Mathematics within the Arts program at the upper secondary school level. Grounded in sociocultural theory, this study explores learning through language, action, and context, drawing on the works of theorists such as Lev Vygotsky (1995/2016), John Dewey (1897/2011) and Roger S?lj? (2020). Through semi-structured interviews, educators in both Art and Mathematics discuss shared subject content and explore opportunities and obstacles in fostering a collaborative culture within the Arts program at the upper secondary school level. The study reveals common subject content in Art and Mathematics suitable for interdisciplinary collaboration.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine young people?s information needs whenthey are deciding on what upper secondary education to choose, why they usedInternet to find the information, and how they experienced their informationseeking. A qualitative study was made using interviews. The study?s respondentsconsisted of young people who are soon to be leaving elementary school, andyoung people who have just started their upper secondary education.

The study is about Physical Education as a subject that offers students in Upper secondary school a possibility to a life long interest in exercising. The study focuses on whether there is a difference between study concentrate programmes and profession concentrate programmes. The study also includes differences among exercising and non-exercising students. Earlier research shows that many youths don?t have an exercise form that they spend their spare time in.

This essay investigates and compares the readability in two different schoolbooks: Eko Historia (the primary school grade 4-6) and Epos Historia (the Upper secondary school). The questions of the survey are:- Which differences in linguistic and layout can be found between books meant for the primary school and books meant for the Upper secondary school?- Are the texts easy to read according to the former research in readability?In order to answer the questions structural dimensions as lexicon, syntax, bounds between sentences and narrative voices have been studied. Also the texts disposition and typography have been examined.The results demonstrate that the book designed for the primary school has a verbal structure with an explicit vocabulary, lots of verbs and short sentences. A clear narrative voice gives an impression of spoken language.

Syftet med den här magisteruppsatsen är att få en bild av hur skolledare och lärare ser på kommunikationsformen medarbetarsamtalet, kopplat till skolutveckling, i den svenska gymnasieskolan. Uppsatsen följer en fenomenologisk forskningsansats, i vilken en etnografisk modell med åtta kvalitativa intervjuer av tre skolledare och fem lärare på två gymnasieskolor setts som en fallstudie. Materialet har analyserats med hjälp av en narrativ metod och kritisk diskursanalys (CDA) och resultatet visar att skolledare och lärare talar om skolutveckling på disparata sätt i medarbetarsamtalet men också att förberedelser och feedback på medarbetarsamtalet skiljer sig åt och upplevelsen av medarbetarsamtalet är därför att det inte påverkar skolutvecklingen på de två gymnasieskolorna..

Being a student in the educational system is in itself a challenging exercise, considering the various parts that may matter in different extent for the students. There is a syllabus, there are different backgrounds and contexts for each student and there is also the knowledge in the subject to consider. This study sets out to explore to which extent teachers and students reflect about the transition from public school to Upper secondary school/high school, specifically in the context of History as subject. What do they think about it and how do they work with it?By interviewing five teachers and letting 94 students in Upper secondary school completing a survey about this subject (the transition), I can conclude that the matter is complex, both for students and teachers, however still a significant and important issue to discuss.

The aim of this essay is to examine how future Upper secondary school teachers within social science comprehends their future proffessional role. The aim is also to see whether the education is of importance to their suspension for their future professional role. Focus will especially be on the teachers civil servant role, where the aim is to see how their identification suspends to the governmental expectations on their future civil servant misson. The essay is based on a qualitative method, which is focused conversational interviews.The result indicates that future Upper secondary school teachers within social science, who are about to finish their education, have a somewhat deeper sense of identification with the teachers civil servant mission compared to those in the beginning of their education. The result also indicates that the future Upper secondary school teachers identification are in line with the governmental expectations on their civil servant mission.

This essay focuses on different aspects of the concept of freedom of speech. The purpose is to examine the opinions and thoughts that Upper secondary school students have on rights, responsibilities and limitations when it comes to freedom of speech, and to investigate theirschool experiences of the mentioned freedom. Focus groups have been used as method and two group interviews have been conducted, one at a vocational and the other at an academic Upper secondary school. Overall, nine students from the third grade participated in the interviews.The essay's results show that the students believe that everyone in society should have theright to be heard, whether you have extreme or divergent opinions. The interviewed studentsexpresses that all people have great responsibility for their opinions, however that, opinionsdiffer on how to interpret the concept of responsibility.
