I uppsatsen inventeras, kategoriseras och karaktäriseras den konstnärliga utsmyckningen vid Växjö Universitetsbiblioteks nybyggda del. Uppsatsen visar också den process som ligger bakom inköp och placering av de konstverk som finns synliga för allmänheten. Genom intervjuer med inblandade personer och konststudering har tolkningar och jämförelser gjorts.I uppsatsen jämförs olika tendenser inom samtidskonsten med den specifika konstsamlingen. Frågan om konstverken är representativa för samtidskonsten besvaras utifrån uppställda definitioner av tendenser inom samtidskonst. Uppsatsen visar bland annat att den specifika konstsamlingen representerar en estetiskt tilltalande konstsyn, där förståelse och anpassning går före provokation och motarbete..

The purpose of this thesis is to study the usage of and attitudes towards electronic books among graduate and PhD students at Karlstad University. The main questions are: How do graduate and PhD students use electronic books? To what extent are electronic books used compared to printed books? To find the answers, a user study was carried out at Karlstad University library. The results show that a majority of the respondents are aware of the possibility to use electronic books but prefer to use printed ones if they have to choose. Many respondents also complained about difficulties reading a text on the computer screen.

This master's thesis asks two main questions concerning the history of the City and UniversityLibrary of Gothenburg: what was the prevailing view of the library and its role? Whateconomic support did the library receive and from whom?By critically examining extensive source material mainly from the library archives and cityand state records, these conclusions are drawn: the City and University Library was regardedas a purely scientific library by all involved except the state as early as the 1920s. The state didnot express this view until 1946. The support came almost exclusively from the city ofGothenburg, the state not extending support on a larger scale until 1946 and then onlysporadically. The widely-held view of the library as a scientific one was ignored by the statein its repeated refusals to grant the library support both before and after 1946.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to study how libraries handle metadata in institutional repositories. The methodology of the study is semi-structured interviews with librarians from all Swedish libraries that currently use the institutional repository system DSpace. Metadata schemes from the different libraries have also been studied. As analytical tools the study uses the user tasks presented in Functional Requirement for Bibliographic Records, as well as a study of metadata quality made by Jung-Ran Park. The study shows a rather big difference between the ways the libraries use institutional repositories.

År 2004 startade Bokföringsnämnden K-projektet med syfte att underlätta redovisningen för företagen i Sverige. K-projektet delar upp företag i fyra kategorier utifrån företagens storlek, K1 till K4. K3 är huvudregelverket för onoterade företag, K1 och K2 är förenklingsregelverk och K4 är regelverket för noterade företag. För mindre aktiebolag finns en valmöjlighet mellan K2 och K3. Denna uppsats avser att belysa de väsentliga skillnader som finns mellan regelverken ur ett intressentperspektiv.

Undersökningen handlar om bemötande inom hemtjänstarbete. Centrala begrepp i uppsatsen är bemötande, kommunikation och social interaktion. Uppsatsen bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer samt deltagande observationer där resultatet grundar sig på information från personal och personliga tolkningar. Informationen innefattar egna tankaroch erfarenheter från personalen om hemtjänstarbetet och om de centrala begreppen. Syftet med uppsatsen är att se hur de olika möten mellan personla och omsorgstagare fungerar och hur man går tillväga för att få en fungerande kommunikation.

This paper describes the development of direct and indirect service at the former Gothen­burg city library. This was during this period of time not the public library of the town, but a scientific library mostly serving the college, although also open to the public. Furthermore the services offered in Gothenburg are compared with those of the two old Swedish university libraries in Uppsala and Lund. The investigated direct serviceforms are "making material available", "guidance", and "localities". The indirect service areas are "the catalogue" and "the personnel and their competence".The conclusion is that the differences weren't that big and that Gothenburg city library was a modern library providing about the same services as you could find in Uppsala and Lund.

The use of ERP in organisations is very popular and many companies have embraced this paradigm without really questioning why. Problems therefore often arise and cause high costs which is a result of poor planning. The paradigm also has its origin in the traditional architectural design that creates a system that has difficulties to adapt to organizations that are constantly evolving. The purpose of this study is to provide a different view of how IT-systems can operate within an organization and show how standard systems can be structured. We emanated from a case study at Linköping University Library, where we studied the implementation and integration of a standard system called Symphony.

Umeå Universitetsbibliotek är en plats där studenter inte bara kan få tillgång till information och material de behöver, utan det är även en plats där det finns möjlighet att studera. Universitetsbiblioteket har genomfört användarundersökningar, men i dessa framkommer inte icke-användarnas åsikter och det är därför av intresse att undersöka varför somliga studenter väljer att inte studera på biblioteket. Syftet med denne utvärdering var att få en inblick i varför en del inte studerar i Universitetsbiblioteket och om brister i studiemiljön eller studenters kännedom om den kan vara bidragande orsaker till detta. Frågeställningarna som skulle besvaras var: Vad är det som gör att studenter inte väljer att studera i Universitetsbiblioteket? Är något fel i den nuvarande studiemiljön? Känner studenterna inte till vad biblioteket har att erbjuda? För att besvara frågorna genomfördes en enkätundersökning bland studenter på campus, enkäten var anpassad så att både användare och icke-användare skulle kunna besvara den och enkäten hade en fråga för att kunna se vilka som var icke-användare.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how Swedish highereducation librarians mediate discovery tools to its users. Thisstudy aims to investigate higher education librarians? generalattitudes towards discovery tools, their perception ofstudents? discovery tool usage, and how they mediatediscovery tools to students through reference interviews anduser training. The empirical ground of this study is a semistructuredsurvey that was answered by 115 instructinglibrarians. The study concludes that although librariansgenerally have a critical attitude towards discovery tools theyalso think that the discovery tools serve a useful purpose,especially as a starting point in the information searchprocess.

The aim of this master thesis is to study the students usage and experiences of the reference services at the university library at Linköping University. The four questions that I seek answers to are: - What kind of help do the students most often ask for at the reference desk? - To what extent do the students use the reference services for their studies? - What are the students experiences of the help they receive at the reference desk? - What are the students experiences of the treatment they receive from the librarians at the reference desk? I have studied literature that describes reference work and evaluation of reference work. I have also studied Christian Grönroos theory of service quality. I have distributed questionnaires to students at Linköping University.

This essay is about leadership in libraries within the academic world, i.e. leadership in research libraries. To place our survey in a context we begin the theoretical review with a chapter about organisation theory. We dont think its possible to separate the leader from the organisation so we wanted to describe the organisation and its effect on the leadership. The next theoretical section is about leadership research.
