Sustainable urban development is a concept that has become increasingly important as the urbanization continues and more and more challenges are focused to the cities.  The Swedish government and authorities regulates and sets goals for how a sustainable urban development is to be achieved. These laws and goals are vaguely defined, which leads to disputes between the actors about how the term should be interpreted. By examining Västermalms Strand, an urban development project in Stockholm, this study strives to describe how involved actors interpret the concept of sustainable urban development and what the consequences of this are for urban development in Stockholm from an ecological, social and economic perspective. A case study has been carried out where a document study and interviews have been conducted. The interviews were conducted with four key actors from the private and public sector.

Abstract During object-oriented system development, programming should be preceded by analysis and design to assure that the system fulfils the demands of the customer and simplify during the development phase and documentation. When modeling the analysis and design phases, several different notations may be used. One of these is the UML (Unified Modeling Language) which this thesis will cover. The aim is to compare the use of the UML i practice versus what is said in the literature. The investigation is built upon interviews at different companies to receive their reflections about the UML.

The purpose of this essay is to perform an evaluation regarding retrieval performance of three web search engines. The search engines included are All the Web, Alta Vista and Google. These have been tested using ten queries within different subject areas chosen by the author. The first twenty hits for each question have been analyzed for relevancy. Relevancy is judged on a three-point scale; 0, 0,5 and 1 where 0 goes to irrelevant and inactive or duplicate documents, 0,5 point goes to partially relevant documents and 1 point goes to highly relevant documents.

Litteratur inom systemutvecklingsområdet visar behov av nya snabbare systemutvecklingsmetoder. Orsaken är komplexiteten både i systemutvecklingsprojekten och i organisationer, där systemutveckling sker. Nu föredras små projekt, som omfattar färre än tio deltagare och genomförs på mindre än ett år. De traditionella systemutvecklingsmetoder anses vara lämpliga för stora projekt. Det finns nya systemutvecklingsmetoder, som får benämningen dynamiska metoder, för små projekt.

This bachelor thesis delves into the role and impact of cultural dimensions, identity and leadership on post-merger acquisition in Sweden through an in-depth analysis of two companies that have undergone acquisitions or mergers. Using an abductive method, where theories are continuously adapted based on empirical data, qualitative information was gathered through semi-structured interviews with managers and employees from the two companies. The study aimed to gather well-founded insights on how corporate cultural dimensions, identity and leadership are experienced by individuals during the merger. By examining culture, leadership and identity in three different time phases of the integrationprocess, a comprehensive understanding of the integration process was achieved. The results of the study highlight that cultural factors such as leadership, culture, and identity play a central and crucial role in mergers and acquisitions. By considering and managing employees' and leaders' identities, organizations can create a sense of coherence and continuity despite changes.

I denna studie, som bedrivits på Landstinget Dalarna, har kommunikationssystemet Microsoft Lync studerats. Lync består av kommunikationsmodulerna chatt, video- och telefonkonferens samt dela dokument. Syftet med denna rapport är att förklara hur utbildning kan påverka människors acceptans för ett kommunikationssystem samt vilka orsaker som kan finnas för att det inte används. För att kunna besvara studiens syfte användes ett kvasiexperiment som genomfördes genom två intervjuomgångar och en utbildning mellan dessa intervjuomgångar. Utifrån intervjuomgångarna kunde slutsatser dras om hur utbildningen hade påverkat acceptansen för kommunikationssystemet Lync.

On the first of January 2012, a new public authority was formed in Värmland, due to a new legislation on public transport. The first task for the new public authority was to produce a plan for the development of public transport. In order to do so, it had to execute an extensive consultation process about the long-term goals of public transport. The purpose of the thesis is to investigate how a public authority can use a consultation process as a means to clarify accountability and produce Unified goals. To answer that, I have done a case study about how the new regional public authority in Värmland for public transport has acted in the process of writing a plan for the development of public transport.

Nuclear power production carries potential risks both for the environment and for the work force. Different safety measures are employed and they stem from local rules as well as from regulatory authorities. This work describes the development of a safety promoting tool at Forsmark Power Plant, one of Sweden?s three Nuclear power plants. We describe the development of a computer based system for Pre-Job Briefing and Post-Job Debriefing.

Multi-branch companies are facing many challenges in order to become successful. Competitive advantages can be gained through a Unified strong brand, standardised products and economies of scale. This normally calls for centralisation. On the contrary is decentralisation, which is said to improve work motivation and local market orientation, which are also competitive advantages. The focus of this thesis is to study how local branch managers want their companies to be structured in accordance with this dilemma.

I dagens samhälle har många kundföretag problem med datalagringen vilket beror på att behovet av att lagra data började öka kraftigt under 2000-talet och har fortsatt öka sedan dess. När kundföretagen började använda sig av virtualisering så expanderade även datastorleken. I samband med att datastorleken växte ville företagen att data inte skulle lagras lokalt utan att den skulle vara lagrad på en central plats som en serverhall och vara överskådlig.Studien utfördes på tre sätt, först undersöktes vilka datalagringslösningar som fanns och det skedde genom litteraturstudier. Därefter kontaktades företag som använde olika lösningar för datalagring. Nästa steg var att kontakta de leverantörer som kundföretag använde sig av och som levererade lösningarna.Under arbetets gång upptäcktes olika lösningar på problematiken med ett ökat datalagringsbehov.

I denna rapport beskrivs utvecklingen av ett program och en databas för hantering av datatänkt att användas på ett möbelföretag, Horreds Möbel AB. Med en kravspecifikation somutgångspunkt och med hjälp av ett utvecklingsverktyg, UML (Unified Modeling Language)har en mall för programmets utseende arbetats fram. Ur denna mall formas de funktionerprogrammet behöver och hur de rent teoretiskt ser ut. Även vilka objekt, klasser och andraviktiga komponenter som programmet kommer att ha, formas på samma sätt.Med hjälp av två program, MS SQL 2000 och JBuilder2005, och det UML genererat, har endatabas och ett program formats. Dessa kommunicerar med varandra för att hantera data förolika syften.

Title: Artists? identity and image ? a brand perspective The purpose of this study has been to create an understanding of how artists in the music business can be seen as brands and to see what stands out when having this approach. During the study we have focused on the two terms identity and image. We find this issue interesting and relevant since branding has been widely discussed in business economy, but not enough when it comes to artists in the music business. To answer our research question we have targeted three aims for this essay, which is to clarify and analyze:? Identity and image when people are viewed as brands? What specifically characterizes the image of the artists when they are seen as brands and what it might mean that artists are considered as brands? How artists identity and image can be highlighted, shaped, influenced and how it can changeIn this study we have used a qualitative approach to get the topic in depth and gain a greater understanding for the subject.

In 2022, Russia completed its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The EU responded with powerful restrictive measures against Russia to demonstrate its Unified support for Ukraine, indicating that the perception of Russia as an external threat to the EU, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), has become increasingly evident following the invasion. Drawing on theory and previous research suggesting that external threats strengthen group identities, I argue that Russia is perceived as an external threat to EU identity in CEE after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Stephan and Stephan's integrated threat theory considers an external threat as either realistic, posing a threat to the ingroup's existence, or symbolic, posing a threat to the ingroup's worldview. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between EU identity and the perception of Russia as a group threat to the EU among individuals in CEE based on the nature of the group threat: realistic and symbolic.
