The earlier studies of how gender is visually constructed in lifestyle magazines have mainly been done on photographs. But, photographs are only one part of the entire magazine Therefor3, we saw the importance in examining one of the other big parts, typography.We have been studying if gender can be constructed in lifestyle magazines through the shape and color of typography and the color context. It is important to point out that we have not been studying the written word but only the shape and color of the typography.The study has been conducted through a qualitative content analysis with a comparative process of the selected magazines. The analysis began with a semiotic analysis of selected parts of the magazines. The result was then analyzed with a feminist theoretical approach.The result of the study shows that gender can be constructed through typography in a number of different ways.

This thesis has examined a co-operation called SSP, between the social authorities, the school and the police, located in Malmö. The intention with SSP is to prevent crime and drug use among juveniles but also to evolve a structure for a long-term co-operation between the authorities.The purpose of the thesis was to understand and analyse what the co- operation represented and stood for. The study also examined how the co- operation was effected by differences in the organisation of the three parts.The main questions were the following; what does SSP contain, is SSP preventive and for whom, what motivates the co-operation and how is the cooperation effected by the view the authorities have on the target group?The method used for answering the questions was based on qualitative interviews with the three authorities involved. We have also searched for literature on the subjects involved.The main content of the thesis has showed that the limits of SSP are diffuse, and the focus of the co- operation lies at a structural level.

The purpose of the thesis is to find out what characterizes a good leadership in the school. Five persons from two different schools were interviewed. From one school the female vice principal was interviewed. From the other school four persons were interviewed ? the female principal, the male vice principal, a male teacher and a female teacher.  This was executed  to get a picture of their view on a successful leadership in the school.

The streetscape is a complex environment with a lot of different parts and users. If you look at the streetscapes main parts you have floor, walls, roof and furniture. The floor in the streetscape, the street, consists of the ground and the paving. It can be made of a lot of different materials with both architectonic and practical functions. The walls usually consist of the houses. They have a big influence on the streetscape depending on architecture, heights and widths.

Delia flies (Diptera: Anthomyiidae) are economically important pests in several horticultural crops. The control is commonly relying on chemical insecticides, though there are possibilities with biological control from the natural enemies in the field. An important natural enemy is the parasitic wasp, Trybliographa rapae Westwood (Hymenoptera: Figitidae) that lays eggs in the Delia fly larvae. The parasitoid larva and the host larva have a parallel development until the host dies within its puparium and an adult parasitoid emerges. The aim of this thesis was to understand the attraction to host- and food-associated plant volatiles of T. rapae, in order to enhance the effectiveness of the parasitic wasp as a biological control agent.

Deltagardemokratiskt utövande kan ta sin form på olika sätt och begreppet är därför mångfacetterat. Globaliseringen har gjort att intresset för deltagande på lokal och regional nivå vuxit. Så har även den deltagardemokratiska debatten. Den dominerande debatten tenderar att fokusera på hur deltagardemokrati utövas i västvärlden. Med detta enkelspåriga fokus, finns det risk, menar vi, att andra länders deltagardemokratiska former utesluts.För att påvisa denna exkludering, används empiri från två fall i tredje världen där deltagardemokratiska inslag införts, Porto Alegre och Kerala.

How do we match our education with the needs of the construction line of business and the requirementsof the Swedish National Agency for education? Is there something that we have to change?In this study I have asked our former students about their opinion of our education and I have also asked them to give me their view on what a good teacher is like. I have been able to benefit a lot from their answers in my efforts to be that good teacher. This survey took place at Facebook.The answers showed that we carry on a piece of solid workmanship. But you can always improve, try harder.

  Aim. The aim of the study was to describe how nurses in home care experience to pursue palliative care in ordinary housing. Methods. The study had a descriptive design with qualitative approach and was carried out through semi-structured interviews with 14 nurses in home health care from two medium-sized Swedish municipalities. The material was analyzed with manifest and latent content analysis. Findings. The underlying theme that emerged in the study was: Working with palliative care in the patient´s own homes is positive but challenging. Informants describe among other things that they perceived palliative home care as meaningful and that relatives have a central role in the palliative home care since they are close to the patient around the clock. The stress that emerges from the heavy work load and the long geographic distances are described as strenuous and to affect the care in a negative way. Informants describe the home environment as challenging as it is often not adapted for care and the collaboration with the palliative team is described to be experienced as both positive and negative.

Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka förskolegårdens betydelse på en Reggio Emilia inspirerad förskola. Vi vill undersöka pedagogernas syn på förskolegården som lärmiljö och observera hur barnen använder förskolegården under lek och lärande. Vi vill även undersöka hur förskolegården fungerar som den tredje pedagogen enligt ett Reggio Emilia inspirerat arbetssätt. Vi har i en kvalitativ studie intervjuat tre pedagoger på en Reggio Emilia inspirerad förskola för att ta reda på deras tankar och vi har observerat barns lek på förskolegården. Vi har använt en tolkande ansats för synliggöra pedagogernas perspektiv på barnens lärandemöjligheter på förskolegården.

Statoil Logistik är en avdelning inom Statoil Detaljhandel AB och ansvarar för inköp, lager och distribution till de ca 1 500 stationerna med bil-, fritids- och förbrukningsvaror. De hanterar idag ungefär 7 000 orderrader per dag och de har en kapitalomsättningshastighet på 5 ggr/år. Statoil Logistik har även hand om tull- och ADR-deklarering, utformning av Statoils interna broschyrer samt agerar lagerhotell för Air Liquide, Svensk Filmindustri och Kemetyl. Lagret i Flen är på totalt är på ca 15 000 m 2.Detta examensarbete har belyst hur Statoils lagerstyrningssystem Albin fungerar genom att dokumentera nuvarande programkod kontra den äldre dokumentationen. Resultatet har blivit att ett flertal skillnader har uppmärksammats.

To distribute goods to customers in urban areas is necessary to support the economic and social development in the cities, but has consequences that affect both residents of cities as well as the environment. The environmental effects of these types of transport involves not only the emissions of various pollutants, but also an increased noise level inside the cities. Many companies and organizations are working hard to change the distribution pattern to streamline transport in the urban area, while environmental impact is reduced. This is in line with what is called the City Logistics. The purpose of this thesis is to create a method for describing and measuring a given transport solution in order to compare it with an altered transport solution to achieve a more sustainable development.

The aim of this study was to investigate how the content of the syllabus for Physical Education and Health at Uppsala University correlates to selected parts of the core content of the Gy11 syllabus for Physical Education and Health 1 in Upper Secondary School. Furthermore we aimed to investigate the perceived competency of recently graduated and still studying teachers of Physical Education and Health within the selected parts of the core content.The selected parts of the core content are:Exercise, sports and outdoor activities that develop a comprehensive physical abilityThe adjustment of tension and mental training.The methods used were a qualitative comparative text analysis of the syllabuses for Physical Education and Health at Uppsala University and Gy11 Physical Education and Health 1 in Upper Secondary School, as well as a quantitative survey conducted with recently graduated and still studying teachers of Physical Education and Health.The results were that there is an obvious correlation between the content of the syllabus for Physical Education and Health at Uppsala University and the Gy11 syllabus for Physical Education and Health 1 in Upper Secondary School. Moreover the survey shows that the respondents felt confidence in their ability to teach exercise, sports and outdoor activities that develop a comprehensive physical ability. The survey also shows that the respondents felt less confidence in their ability to teach the adjustment of tension and mental training..

Uppsatsen behandlar alternativa lösningar för omstrukturering av godsflödet för Klippo och Thomée, två företag inom Thomée Industrier. Alternativen jämföres genom att olika gemensamma variabler beaktas. Skador och svinn, hanteringskostnader och transportkostnader. Det förs även en diskussion om kundservice. Resultaten är inhämtade genom intervjuer och studiebesök.

Införandet av RFID i värdesystemet för paketerat livsmedel kontrolleras av dagligvaruhandeln. Deras dominerande ställning gör att de kan leda ett införande, men också att de kan få den största delen av värdet som RFID medför. Kostnader uppkommer främst hos livsmedelsproducenterna, vilka själva ser begränsade fördelar av teknologin. Standardsättandet och utformandet av system finns det i dagsläget inga konflikter kring. Den svåra nöten att knäcka är hur kostnader och fördelar skall beräknas och fördelas..

Maize for silage has been used as fodder in different parts of the world for a long time and has recently become more common also in Sweden. Our cold climate has been a problem as maize is very sensitive to low temperatures and frost. With new varieties and better techniques for cultivation it is now possible to grow maize in the southern and middle parts of Sweden. As for the north of Sweden the length of the cultivation season is a limiting factor as there are too few days with temperatures of over +10 ºC. Maize is well suited for silage making but oxygen-free conditions are required.
