The construction industry develops at a high pace today. Because of this the construction companies has to rethink and try to develop at the same pace. One of the biggest challenges in the construction industry today is to improve the logistics since improved logistics leads to lower costs. This is something that the construction companies have started to realize and they are beginning to invest more money in order to improve the logistics. It is especially important to have good logistics when the conjuncture turns for the worse.

The aim of this study is to examine the investment decision process for investments that arise due to strategic changes and are of strategic importance to the company. At the foundation of this study is the previous research in this area, done by King (1975) and Bower (1970), which examines the investment process on a more generic level. At the core is the investment decision process pertaining to Projekt X, an investment performed by NordiCorp. Having conducted a case study including six interviews with employees from various parts of the organization, combined with a large number of internal documents, the process regarding the investment decision was carefully illuminated. The results show that in many regards, this process follows the more generic investment process.

För företag som är verksamma inom distributions- och lagringsbranschen är logistik ett centralt begrepp. Logistik kan ses som läran om effektiva materialflöden. Materialflöden i försörjningskedjor sker dels internt i verksamheten och dels genom transporter mellan leverantörer och kunder. I ett logistiksystem är det oftast transporter som har störst negativ miljöpåverkan, men transporter medför även kostnader vilket kräver planering av resursanvändningen. Planeringen sker på olika nivåer och några av de besluten handlar om att sträva efter ökad fyllningsgrad i transportmedlet och konsolidering av leveranser.

The aim of this essay is to examine the background to the ongoing conflict between Spain and Basque. The conflicting parts and the opportunities of an agreement regarding a permanent cease-fire will also be examined. I chose to write about this conflict due to the fact that it has been going on for a long time, and is still going on.In order to be able to conduct the survey of this essay I have studied a wide range of books, reports from different institutions, and articles. I have strived for objectivity and to retail a fair description of the situation.To get a better understanding of the conflict the essay starts with history of conflict which has its beginning in the fifteenth century. Further on the essay is going to examine the conflicting parts that exist nowadays, and also the acting of different Basque political groups and the acting of the Spanish government.

Försvarsmakten beskriver i Arméns utvecklingsplan 2010-2020 att tre dygns uthållighet på taktisknivå inte är tillräckligt utan bör vara mer flexibelt så att den även passar mindre enheter som skall kunna verka över stora avstånd utan möjlighet till egen logistik. Syftet med uppsatsen är att utreda vad trovärdig uthållighet är. Att utreda om tre dygns uthållighet på taktisk nivå är tillräckligt eller om denna bör utökas till mer än tre dygn. I uppsatsen beskrivs vad som står skrivet i olika dokument från Försvarsmakten vilka styr uthålligheten. Det beskrivs även hur Försvarsmakten avser att uthålligheten skall se ut i framtiden.

This report is a result of a degree thesis at Luleå University of Technology together with Stram AB in Växjö. The project aimed to develop a size reducible bed, that gets small when folded and has a new slim design. The development of the new folding bed had the purpose to give Stram AB new ideas of how guest beds can look like and be used in the future. Information about Stram´s products and also information of other similar products on the market was gathered. A visit at a store, internet and interviews gave grater insight of the market, and of customer needs.

The use of subscription services directed towards customers has become a common phenomenon in a vast number of different industries. We have noticed a clear trend of new businesses emerging solely offering subscriptions, and existing companies altering sales of their products to become parts of subscriptions. But research has not caught up with this trend yet, especially regarding why it occurs and how it affects existing businesses internally. The purpose of this study is to examine the driving forces for change and examine how existing businesses have to change parts of their business models to offer subscription services. Effektiv logistik är ofta nyckeln bakom framgångsrika företag. Då logistik är ett väldigt komplext problemområde har det blivit nödvändigt att utveckla intelligenta system som hjälpmedel vid beslutsfattande. Klassificeringssystem av artiklar är ett sådant system, vilket ska underlätta att flytta fokus från den enskilda artikeln till artiklar som kräver extra mycket uppmärksamhet.En stor del forskning har utförts inom klassificeringsområdet de senaste åren. Denna har dock varit av ren matematisk karaktär där olika lösningar presenterats vilka i grund och botten behandlat skapande av en artikelrangordning utifrån en samling parametrar. Hur parametrarna väljs och vilka implikationer valet av matematisk modell får är ännu obehandlat ur ett logistiskt perspektiv.

Harmoniseringen av upphovsrättsskyddet inom den europeiska unionen har lett till ändringar i nationell rätt av flera medlemsstater. Vissa länder har som effekt av olika direktiv infört bestämmelser som gör det möjligt för domstol att ålägga internetleverantörer att blockera sina kunders tillgång till tjänster eller webbsidor som används för att begå upphovsrättsintrång. I Sverige tar detta sin form genom vitesförbud.Hovrätten har i mål nr Ö 10146-09 och i mål nr Ö 7131-09 vid vite ålagt internetleverantörer att sluta tillhandahålla internetuppkoppling för tjänster som används för att begå upphovsrättsintrång.Det torde vara lagenligt att genom föreläggande om vitesförbud även ålägga internetleverantörer att neka sina användare tillträde till en sådan tjänst. Detta torde vara fallet även om tjänsten i fråga är belägen i ett tredje land. Ett sådant föreläggande kan inte anses strida mot censurförbudet, även om tjänsten skulle vara grundlagsskyddad.

As a result of global competition, companies within the automotive industry are required to improve their production systems to achieve sustainable and competitive production. To attain operational excellence, companies have adopted concepts like lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM).In order to deliver, companies need to increase the availability and reliability of production equipment. This demands focus on both operational and strategic maintenance, and efficient equipment acquisition and management. The main objective of this thesis is to identify processes and success factors that are necessary for improved maintenance performance. By conducting a case study and by performing a literature review, the following has been studied: 1) how companies within the automotive industry work with maintenance and maintenance strategies, 2) implementation of maintenance strategies, and 3) new acquisition and spare parts management for maintenance. The results show that basic maintenance concepts and related terms are well defined in the literature.

Reinforcement is of great importance to fulfill the dimensioned strength of a concrete construction. This requires that the work needs to be carried out with adequate results that neither endangers the workers or the safety of the construction. Progressive development of the planning phase, construction documents, and construction methods is in constant need since the technology constantly evolves.In order for contractors to be able to get acceptances from their quotations requires that they have to increase their working pace in order to be able to leave a quotation with a lower price than the competition.Due to the increasing pace the different parts involved in the construction process is subjected to time pressure. The design stage, construction documents, work preparation and the execution are all affected when everything has to be finished quickly. To avoid problems, it is required that all parts are able to deliver good quality solutions and results under the influences of time pressure, which is not always easy.

Detta arbete har bestått i att utveckla en mobil förnyelsebar energikälla för hjälparbetare och expeditioner. Efter kontakt med Läkare Utan Gränsers internationella avdelning för logistik framkom att organisationen vid fältarbete saknar en pålitlig energikälla för att tillgodose sitt basbehov av el. Resultatet är en vattendriven elgenerator som alstrar ström från forsande vatten i floder och bäckar. De största fördelarna är mobiliteten, den enkla och snabba installationen och kontinuiteten i elproduktion..

Abstract: This report covers primarily the work of documenting electromagnetic fields generated by one of the later parts in the electrical power distribution chain: The electrical substation, wherein 10 kV is transformed to 400 V for use by private consumers. Thus it is one of the most widespread and frequently occurring parts in the Swedish power grid and of particular interest, as electrical substations are found everywhere in populated areas, often in close vicinity to people and animals.The report deals with a number of formulated questions and/or hypothesis? stated at the onset of the work undertaken, theory that is relevant for the topics the report covers, the details of the field work undertaken and the following analysis of the readings, which in term provide answers for the questions stated in the beginning. It also covers what is the currently known short term and long term risks associated with electromagnetic fields in the power frequent spectrum and of varying intensity in the vicinity of humans.The analysis also provides recommendations and identifies several points to carefully consider when planning for new installations or replacements of some parts of existing installations.For enhanced reading comprehension there is, aside from sections with pictures and attached explanatory texts and templates, several graphs, one-line diagram and maps of the power grid among the appendixes to the rapport..

This report consists of two parts, out of which the first deals with the planning and designing ofa small house in the Swedish city of Huddinge, using the weather conditions of the Swedish cityof Malmö. The house has to be in accordance with the Swedish building- and constructionregulations, as well as with the limitations in energy consumption given.The house itself has to consist of at least two bedrooms, and blueprints of the house, variousconstructional elements, ventilation, sanitation and electricity have to be drawn. Calculations ofthese aspects also have to be made, to ascertain that the different parts function as they should,and that the dimensions are sufficient.The second part is called ?Allergy free home?, and investigates how indoor climate affects us,and whether it has changed during the last few decades. It also makes an effort to see whetherthe increase of allergies and asthma is correlated with possible changes in indoor climate, andwhether technical solutions might help to handle or even decrease the issues arisen.
