Föroreningstransport i grundvatten : En modelljämförelse
This thesis compares different methods for risk assessment of a creosote contaminated site in Vansbro, Dalarna. In a complementary study the importance of using representative data for calibration and validation of stationary groundwater models is discussed. The time dependency between surface water levels and groundwater levels on the site in Vansbro is evaluated by step response analysis. The results show that the groundwater levels reflect only long-term variation in the surface water levels. Hence the use of such long-term means for calibration and validation of the stationary groundwater models is the only theoretically defendable alternative.As a first step in the comparison of risk assessment methods the degree of contamination is evaluated on the basis of generic guideline values for contaminated soils, developed by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.

The annual cost of home care services of transport in Falun/Borlänge, is now at 31 million kronor. It is clear from previous research that it is possible to reduce these costs through a restructuring of the existing home-help service. The restructuring aims to have a higher proportion of older people, who are in need of care, to live in special accommodation, in order to reduce transport costs. Therefore there is a need for systems that allow home-help service to plan their operations in such a way that transport is working as efficiently as possible. Through better planning, there are profits to be done.
Smart förpackning för transport av temperaturkänsliga produkter
Vid transport av temperaturkänsliga produkter krävs en förpackning som klarar av att hålla temperaturen inom ett visst intervall så att innehållet inte skadas. Omgivningstemperaturen kan variera mycket under en transport och det är viktigt att förpackning kan kyla passivt utan att påverkas för mycket av omgivningen. Ett typiskt användningsområde för denna typ av förpackningar är inom sjukvård för transport av läkemedel, organ och andra biologiska produkter.Problemet som denna rapport behandlar är att ta fram en sådan förpackning för hingstsperma som skulle kunna skickas med posten. Sperman behövde först kylas ned från rumstemperatur till 5°C under tio timmar innan den skulle hållas vid denna temperatur i ytterligare 24 timmar. För att lösa detta användes en kombination av isolering och fasomvandlingsmaterial vars egenskap att lagra energi gör att en konstant temperatur kan hållas under en längre tid.
CARABAS III Konstruktion av antenninstallation på helikopter
This report describes the construction work of a radar antenna for the radar systemCARABAS. CARABAS is a long wave airborne ground radar that has been developed bySAAB Microwave Systems and will now be mounted on a small helicopter, Schweizer 300.The antenna should be able to fold up and down. When the radar is in use the antenna islowered and under transport, start and landing the antenna is folded up. An emergency dropfunction should also be included in the design of CARABAS III.The extent of this report includes construction of the antenna, frame structure attached to thehelicopter, mechanism for folding the antenna up and down and mechanism for emergencydrop function. The mechanical design of the antenna and frame structure is based on modaland stress analysis, vibration measurement of Schweizer 300 and frequency analysis, andcalculations regarding aerodynamic drag and mechanics.The exciting frequencies of the helicopter and accelerations at those frequencies weredetermined by vibration measurement and frequency analysis.

I have used theoretical framework to establish a process flow analysis. This is to obtain data on process activities and whether they are creating value or not. This leads to a current mapping of the situation in Secoroc on DTH-pipes and then analyzed and suggestions for improvement are developed.Conclusions: That by using the above mentioned mapping of process flow of DTH-pipes, problem areas could be illustrated.

An environmental review has been carried out at FORIA AB, a transportation- and machine service company, to analyze the company?s environmental aspects from the transportation segment. This report describes the essential background and the methods of identifying and evaluate the environmental aspects. It also describes how the work with the environmental aspects often vary between different actors. The design of the ISO 14001 is intentionally broad in order to apply on all sorts of activities and organizations.
Andningsbesvär under transport : En studie om skillnader och likheter i vitalparametrar och omvårdnadsåtgärder av äldre patienter med andningsbesvär, vid ambulanstransporter med olika transportprioriteter.
Äldre patienter med andningsbesvär är en vanlig patientkategori inom ambulanssjukvården. Är det någon skillnad på patienters vitalparametrar eller givna läkemedel vid ambulanstransporter med prio 1 och prio 2. 43 ambulans och akutjournaler studerades retrospektivt. 24 prio 1 och 19 prio 2. Patienter som transporterats med prio 1 hade signifikant sämre värden på andningfrekvens, puls och kroppstemperatur.

After emergencies involving chemical spills it is of great importance that correct measures are taken with short notice, both for the security of people and in order to minimize future environmental consequences. The RIB-unit at the Swedish Rescue Services Agency initiated this study, the aim of which is to propose changes to the existing chemical transport calculation tool: Chemical Spill 3.4, included in RIB - Integrated Decision Support for Civil Protection, so that it can be used for decision support as well as in preventive work. A rough estimation of chemical transport in the subsurface is considered being of great importance when making decisions during emergency response operations.The proposition presented in this report is a non site specific chemical transport model which is designed to give a rough estimation of NAPL flow in homogenous isotropic soil shortly after an instantaneous release. The model can be used at two levels; both in situations without access to information on subsurface properties, and with more accuracy in situations with knowledge of the included parameters. For that reason the user can choose among predefined alternatives or assign the parameters a numeric value to increase the quality of the model output.
Transporttidsmodellering vid provpumpning i heterogen jord : spårämnesförsök i en isälvsavlagring
When protection zones for wells are delineated, it is important to acquire good knowledge about possible travel time from different points in the catchment area to the well. Often, simple analytical methods are used for estimating travel times and the assumption is made that the hydraulic conductivity is relatively homogenous within the aquifer. Nevertheless, many aquifers are strongly heterogeneous which may lead to differences between estimates and actual travel times. As a part of the process to develop improved methods for delineating protection zones for groundwater supply wells, a tracer experiment was performed in a glaciofluvial esker formation in Järlåsa. On the basis of the experiment, a numerical flow model was created for the test site.The purpose of this master?s thesis was to apply the flow model to an aquifer where the hydraulic conductivity shows great variability and should be described by a stochastic distribution.

This study deals with the road freight sector's capital structure and how leases, loans and equity affect the ratios. The study is based on a ten-year period between 2000-2010 in Sweden. Investments in finance is a complex and interesting subject to study, there are many factors that can affect how the company best choose their investments when they have many great business investment the decisions plays a greater role. The aim is to find an optimal capital structure from a financial investment point of view. The purpose will be answered by the following research question: Are there significant differences between leases, loans and equity financed fleet of factors, profitability, tax, turnover, age, and cyclicality. The study will also examine how debt is related to profit margin, DuPont and the tax, all through a regression analysis. Then were plausible economic theories for the study.
Inventering och riskanalys av skolskjutshållplatser : kvalitetsäkring med avseende på trafiksäkerhet
In Trollhättan municipality approximately 700 school bus stops are in service. To ensure high quality of the performance of school bus operations, with focus on traffic safety, it was decided to conduct a survey of bus stops including assessments of risks.This master thesis aims to identify the factors affecting road safety at bus stops and pedestrian connections, and to conduct an inventory and analysis of selected sites in Trollhättan municipality. The work also aims to show examples of how risk assessment should be performed in future studies. A risk analysis model provided by the Swedish Transport Administration is supplemented and used in a field study. The risk assessment is based on, inter alia, traffic flow, visibility distance, lighting, speed of traffic and the presence of bus shelter.
Produktivitet och kostnader vid skörd och transport av skogsbränsle från klena gallringar
Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka ett maskinsystem för uttag av trädbränsle i klena gallringar i norra Västmanland och södra Dalarna för Mellanskog. Genom driftuppföljningsdata kunde produktiviteten och kostnaderna för maskinsystemet beräknas, samt kostnaderna för sönderdelning och transport och hur dessa förändras med transportavståndet till industri.
Resultatet visar att skördarens produktivitet är beroende av storleken på skördad medelstam, samt att skotarens produktivitet sänks med ett ökat skotningsavstånd. Den totala kostnaden för drivningsarbetet för ett medelobjekt (sett till maskinsystemets produktivitet) i denna studie var 178 kr/m3f inklusive kostnader för flytt, planering och tillägg för vinst. Om man bortser från dessa kostnader uppgår kostnaden för skördaren till ca 88kr/m3f och kostnaderna för skotaren till ca 61kr/m3f. Att enbart sönderdela materialet kostar 58 kr/m3s och kostnaden för transport beror på tranportavståndet, ett längre avstånd innebär en högre kostnad.

Today?s political debate on environmental issues and environmental thinking, alongside the Swedish presidency of the EU and Climate Conferences shows that the environment is an important topic. Environment is important, not only in politics, but also for companies and the demand of environmental strategies and environmental reports has increased. This leads to an increased pressure on firms to begin to report on environmental concerns and to create active systems for environmental thinking.The aim of the present study is to examine why firms in the transport sector, mainly lorry transports, reports environmental aspects and what drives these companies to create these reports.Based on stakeholder and institutional theory we aim to examine to which extent stakeholders affects the environmental accounting and reporting. We also aim to explain how the organization is influenced to incorporate external and societal environmental procedures.
Hur långt bär cykeln? : Gång och cykling i Västerbottens län - en studie av pågående arbete med regional gång- och cykelplanering
The craft of planners are planning for a better future. Knowledge about climate change, environment, health and availability effects the trend towards less car dependent societies in favour of public transport and active transport like walking and biking. This study takes place in Västerbotten, one of Sweden?s most north provinces with a population of 260 000 inhabitants. It is a sparsely populated area with two dominant cities, the other municipalities are largely unpopulated.
Utveckling av differentierade transportersättningar för rundvirskestransporter med lastbil
Approximately 60 million cubic meters of round wood are transported every year with trucks in Sweden and stand for 15 % of all truck transportation in the country. The big amount that is transported results in many haulage companies works in different parts of the country with different conditions to get a good flow on their transports. Today the transport pricing is very general and the payment consists of the unit round wood they are transporting and the distance of the transport. The purpose of this study were, from the freighter and the haulage company?s perspective, try to find ways to change the today applied transport pricing to more differentiated and compare them to historic payment of transportation.
