13 individuals from the Viking Age trading place in Fröjel, Gotland, were examined for this thesis. The aim was to gain a deeper knowledge about the individuals, and the main focus was to study their health. Three men, eight women and two children were examined. The age of the two children was estimated to around birth, and was no longer relevant for this thesis. The age distribution showed that two individuals were young (10-24 years), seven individuals were adults (18-44 years) and two individuals were middle-aged or older (35-79 years).

Sedan Ukrainas självständighetsförklaring 1991 har landet arbetat med att reformera sin ekonomi till ett mer marknadsekonomiskt system. Denna process innefattar en mängd olika aspekter att ta hänsyn till som har stora effekter på ekonomin. I denna uppsats har vi valt att analysera en del av de otaliga reformer som finns, nämligen hur väl Ukraina har lyckats med sina skattereformer i syfte att införa marknadsekonomi i landet. Dessutom ämnar vi besvarafrågan vilka effekter som skattereformerna har haft på landets ekonomi med fokus på hur statens intäkter förändrats samt utvecklingen av den makroekonomiska variabeln inflation ochlandets budgetunderskott. För att kunna besvara den förstnämnda frågan har vi använt oss av befintlig teori om den finanspolitiska transformationsprocessen samt analyserat skattebördan, skattestrukturen samt skattesatserna i Ukraina.

This essay deals with the relationship between the mendicant movement and the urbanization during the thirteenth century. The aim has been to explore the significance of the Dominicansand the Franciscans for the creation of an urban landscape. This was made through the study of the urbanization process in southern Halland focusing on the town of Halmstad where the friars were established. The importance of the mendicants was also studied through their absence in the towns of Laholm and Falkenberg. To achieve this investigation in a contextual perspective material from different areas was used such as archaeology, history and history of science and ideas.

Bakgrund. Uppsatsens utgångspunkt var att synliggöra den närståendes situation då en anhörig insjuknat i Parkinsons sjukdom. Den närstående tvingas in i en förändringsprocess och för att beskriva denna användes begreppet transition som teoretisk förankring. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att få kunskap om hur närstående till personer med Parkinsons sjukdom upplevde att deras liv förändrades under sjukdomsprocessen. Metod: Litteraturstudien bestod av tolv vetenskapliga artiklar från Sverige, Storbritannien, Irland, USA, Canada och Korea.

Att ta steget från en universitetsvärld till att träda in i en yrkesverksamhet kan upplevas som okänt och den nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskan kan känna av påtagliga skillnader mellan de två kulturerna. Hälso? och sjukvården har idag ett ökat krav på effektivitet som påverkar all sjukvårdspersonal, så även blivande sjuksköterskor. Forskning har visat att just övergången från student till nyutexaminerad sjuksköterska kan vara en plötslig omställning och att upplevelsen att vara ny och oerfaren kan upplevas som chockartad. Frågor om nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskors upplevelser under denna transition är inte fullständigt besvarade och faktorer för att främja processen är inte klart definierade.

Bakgrund: Alla patienter oavsett diagnos skall tillförsäkras en palliativ vård i livets slut på lika villkor över hela landet. Forskning visar att den äldre patienten inte alltid ges möjlighet att ta del av denna typ av vård. Det finns en tydlig trend mot att äldre människor i större utsträckning kommer att vårdas i sitt hem till livets slut. För distriktssköterskan innebär detta att ställas inför nya utmaningar i sin profession för att kunna ge dessa patienter palliativ vård. Den äldre människan i livets slut genomgår en transition.

I uppsatsen prövas om medborgerlig gemenskap och socioekonomisk utveckling kan förklara institutionell effektivitet även i icke-demokratiska länder. Med teoretiska utgångspunkter i Putnams numera klassiska teori från Den fungerande demokratin (1996), som efter modifikationer och med inslag från Linz och Stepans ?fem arenor? från Problems of democratic transition and consolidation (1996), testas teorin genom regressionsanalyser och med ett dataset från The Quality of Government Institute. The Psychology Driving and Barriers to Skunk Work Projects (referred to throughout this thesis as the paper) represents a study predominantly on Tetra Pak from a selective perspective, the innovators. Innovators both past&present whose initiatives contribute to the well being of Tetra Pak as well as one from Ericsson were consulted. As with individuals, organizations possess definable characters that are influenced by the various stages of their life cycle. Theories of corporate life cycle phases and organizational character analysis were therefore employed to identify and explain organizational barriers to skunk work leaders&managers. Predicated on the Organizational Character Index survey developed by William Bridges PhD (himself a recognized leader in the field of transition management) and administered to sixty-one managers within a Tetra Pak business unit established the benchmark.

This thesis describes an optimising compiler for translating from SMV to CLP(B). The optimisation is aimed at reducing the number of required variables in order to decrease the size of the resulting BDDs. Also a partitioning of the transition relation is performed. The compiler uses an internal representation of a FSM that is built up from the SMV description. A number of rewrite steps are performed on the problem description such as encoding to a Boolean domain and performing the optimisations.

Uppsatsen Tjeckien och EU ? associationsavtalets effekter på handel och specialisering är en ekonomisk studie med behandling av handelsdata som belyser Tjeckiens ekonomiska transition. Denna studie har främst gjorts med syftet att analysera associationsavtalets inverkan på handeln mellan Tjeckien och EU. Det är främst effekterna av avtalet ur ett handelsalstrings- och handelsomfördelningsperspektiv, samt integrationens effekter på den tjeckiska specialiseringen som behandlas. Slutligen diskuteras även hur handeln mellan dessa två parter kan tänkas påverkas av Tjeckiens medlemskap i EU.Processen för landet har varit sådan från att först nästintill ha varit en autarki, till att senare ha blivit frihandelspartner till EU och slutligen fullvärdig medlem av Europeiska Unionen.
